  • I've owned this inexpensive Harbor Freight Portland 1750 PSI pressure washer for a few years and offer this review. Does it work? Does it hold up to years of use? Would a gas-powered pressure washer be a better choice? Watch to find out what I think.

    Best review ive seen. Everybody else is washing their car with it. I wanted to do what it can do. And this did it for me. This should be the first video that comes up on the search. Great job.

      Thanks! I agree with you...washing a car isn't a heavy task and frankly, I find it easier to drive to a self-wash than to set up my pressure washer and fill a bucket with soap. The pressure washer is for more heavy duty/less frequent tasks. Appreciate you watching!

    I just saw this pressure washer earlier when we went to pick up a few things and was going to buy it but me and my bf weren’t sure about it, he said “let’s look up a review on RUclips” and this video sir, is VERY informative! Thank you so much for sharing. We are going to buy one for sure!

    I really like your review. It was just simple to follow and watch, and the results were pleasing. My landlord just gifted this to me believe it or not I can’t wait to use it. I used a loud Husky washer with 2200 PSI for all sorts of stuff, did a great job, but I’m looking forward to not hearing the loud ass engine run all the time while still doing a decent enough job with the Portland model.
    Maybe I’m becoming old getting excited about pressure washing stuff but I’m also 35 lol

    I’ve had one for four years , after a while i had to use some Teflon thread tape for minor leaks no big deal !! Works great with 10ft. To 15ft water hose,I used much longer but unit seems to cycle on when not pressing trigger for more than five minutes, but still work great!,!

    I bought one yesterday, Nov 26,2022. I used it immediately and I like the performance. One question I have is the manual in General Operating Instructions a notice states pressure washer will run only while trigger is depressed. When trigger is released pump will turn off. Then in bold it states: "Do not leave idle for more than one minute without spraying," Is this suggesting to turn off the pressure washer while scrubbing or taking a break in spraying then turn it back on to continue spraying? Maybe a valve would wear out with constant water pressure if no flow and the pump is not being used?
    edit: I went to the Portland website and found this faq though it would seem to be more for a gas powered model? "How long can I leave the washer on without triggering the gun? The general answer is no longer than a minute. When the trigger is not pulled, the water will cycle through the pump, and the heat from the pump will cause the water to heat, which can ultimately burn and melt the internal components of the washer."

    • @UrbanMonkTV
      @UrbanMonkTV  Год назад +1

      Thanks for watching! Yes, I agree, that instruction would be for the gas powered models. This electric one does nothing while sitting idle.

      @@UrbanMonkTV Thank You! That would make sense but it got me off track not emphasizing gas models. I did make a call to Portland but the rep wasn't much help, none, I think I woke her up.

    I have this pressure washer. How long can you not squeeze the trigger but leave it in the on position with the water source still on? If you aren’t using it, shouldn’t you turn it off? Or should you turn off the water source? Just wondering if it’s bad on the water system or the pressure washer if it’s left on with water flowing to the machine without the trigger being squeezed.

      Thanks for watching. I'm not one of the engineers who designed it and I don't speak for Harbor Freight, but in my opinion if the motor isn't running and water isn't leaking at a connection I don't see any issue with it sitting in the "ready on" position indefinitely. There is simply another switch (a pressure switch) that has essentially turned the unit off even though you have the "power" switch on.

    how dose it work on a motorcycle build ?

    • @UrbanMonkTV
      @UrbanMonkTV  4 года назад +1

      Depends on how much grease and oil are on the engine. I used mostly kerosene and carb cleaner on my engine.

      Thanks for watching! I think it would work well for a wood deck but, if painted, you'll want to be careful how close your nozzle gets to the surface because it could strip the paint off if too close.
