Harbor Freight Portland 1750 PSI Pressure Washer Review 63254

- The Pacific Hydrostar one was out of stock and being discontinued, so I bought this one with a 25% off coupon. Price is worth it for the 7' longer pressure hose.
In the video I unbox and assemble it, and do some test cleaning on mossy stuff, wood, etc. So far I like it, but I do feel it needs an in between setting on the nozzle from pencil beam to low pressure spray. I definitely will find myself washing the travel trailer more often!
I just uploaded a follow up video about the nozzle adjusting, and using the foam canon. Be sure to check it out!
HIT:
- Price
- Compact
- Light weight
- Lots of power
- Soap Dispenser
- Fun
MISS:
- Only two settings on the spray, be nice to have an in between one ** NOTE ** If I adjust it as its spraying it will stay in other positions, I will do a follow up video soon.

Just picked up this little guy after eye balling it for weeks. It worked well cleaning my deck/outdoor furniture. I like the compact design/portability. The soap dispenser works great. Plenty of power for the average user.
Thank you for this! Going to go buy right now as I want my deck sparkling
Paul did u use soap bottle with long wond part to my book come up missing so I don't know how to do it n the video didn't show them to gether
Just purchased one of these from my local Harbor Frieght, and I was very impressed with its performance. My white vinyl sided shed was turning green from 11 years of exposure to the elements and surrounding trees. My shed looks like brand new after using this powerwasher. I highly recommend it for vinyl siding, cars, and decks. Thanks for the video, it sold me.
Thanks for the feedback! Have fun!
Very helpful. I'm in the market for an electric pres washer for home use and just couldn't justify the cost of the major brands. Also got tired of my gas powered washer and it was a bit overkill for my uses. Thanks, I'll pick one up at Harbor Freight this week.
Thank you so much for the video. My genius hubby opens the box and throw away manual. Then he wonders🤔 how does it works.😫. I just wash my pool deck. Yes I did it myself. Thanks to you.🤗
Haha. Glad this helped!
I had one of these but had to bring it back. As I read the directions I found it required more GPM than my home water tap could supply. Check your GPM by seeing how long it take you to fill up a 5 gallon pail.
thats not why your would buy it for to save water i hope it take 30 mins to fill a 5 galllon pall up u dont want it to fill fast your looking for something els then not a power washer your lost in this world u need to educate your self mot triying to be mean just trying to help u bro educate educate
@@miloknott667 I think he took it back because his gpm was to low so the power washer wouldn't work at full power ig
@@miloknott667 LOL That was painful to read and you're telling him to educate??? #gopoundsand
I got one today. Plugged it in and it worked fine.
Thank you so much for walking me through this setup process. I look forward to using my new unit with your help 😁
69.99$ right now at hf. On my way to grab 1
Mr. Espinoza, please let me when I should go to HF to buy it for $69.99. That is a wonderful price.
Grateful bro. My wife bought this unit for me a couple of weeks back because I'm particularly anal when it comes to driving dirty cars, but the work injuries to my lower back is abating my efforts. I got everything right except the protective cover at the back of the unit which I thought was permanent fixture on the unit. Was planning on taking the unit back to HD when my wife brought out your video. Ooh! I was elated, encouraged and unstoppable. I washed my 2 neighbors' car and truck unsolicited. Great video. Keep the good work.
Thank you Moses! I appreciate the comment!
I use mine every saturday to wash the cars. Power washed my driveway and back patio concrete. It has been a good pressure washer for the ordinary average weekend cleaning guy.
Nice review. Wish you would have showed the soap dispenser though lol
I do here. ruclips.net/video/NgBrmJ-9eVo/видео.html&
I'm going to buy one and going to clean the outside of my home and my deck! Thank you for your video!!!!! A happy mother!!!! 🤗
I bought this a few months ago, it was still in the box. Finally, I pulled it out & assembled it, to pressure was the deck on our house. It's run for about 25 hours, almost continuously, in the last 3 days. I paid about $70 for it. Not sure if it was on SALE or recall if I used a coupon or not? It's great value for what it can do, though. Great for small jobs around the house.
Agreed! Thanks for stopping by! Dont forget to subscribe :)
@@JohnVHLife have you found a way to attach a surface cleaner to it? I can't figure out what kind of adapter or kind I need to get
@@JohnVHLife can you recommend a surface cleaner that will work with this. Thanks
Nice clear video and good review, thanks man.
Appreciate it, thanks!
Thanks for your review! Just bought one.
JohnVH Life... Yes, thanks so much for the review! I just bought a gently used one, exactly like this, from a neighbor. It was a moving sale. It wasn't in its box & it was without a manual. I wasn't sure how to use it correctly or hook it up. I wasn't even really sure if I got a good deal out of it. You, & the video, were very useful and helpful! 👌👍✌
Just got me one. Awesome value. The working psi is actually impressive for the price.
Best thing when purchasing this pressure washer is use the heck out of it,i was surprised!! Had some leaks at the wand an outlet on front hose connection after 90day warranty expired but fixed with Teflon thread tape ,been work great since !!!
My suggestion is to get some white lithium grease. After a while the wand will be tough to remove. Put the grease around the o rings and you'll never have a problem
Using the wood to show it's strength in different settings was brilliant! Thanks for the support from Struggleville. I seem to be getting so much support from there that I sometimes barely have time to try to offer more support to his fans, lol.
Thanks? I was just shooting everything I could, haha.
This is a great video, I went ahead and bought it at HF on sale ($79.99 USD), cant wait to try it. Will update on why type of materials I’ll use to test the range of it.
Thanks for the in depth, and set up of this item.
Update?
@@ayhamhuq2062 Used it on brick, and concrete. It was not a bad purchase. We also used it to wash the camper which was good, I do recommend some type of soap and a mildew/mold removal soap. I wouldn't say bleach even though it might kill some algae - because that would be relative to the material you're using it on.
the adjustable nozzle can go anywhere from pencil to wide and in between, so it's like having all the different nozzles on a high priced unit just with the turn of the tip it's not just one or the other, I have used this very washer for 3 years and washed everything from moldy trailers here in Florida to my house siding to the car.
Today, I ran it on a waaay too long extension cord and the motor burnt out. That was my fault. I never really even did any maintenance on it and it always worked fine, except the hard plastic turn and lock wand and little soap dispenser get harder and harder to twist and remove/insert. so would be good to break it down after each use and lubricate the areas and o rings where they twist together...duhh, All in all, for 79 bucks, and if I didn't burn out the motor by my own recklessness of using too long of an extension cord, it would probably still be going strong. You can't go wrong for that money, 👍
How long was the cord? I use mine in one all the time. Whoops.
@@JohnVHLife oh. way too long I was doing the neighbors house, and just grabbed my outdoor cord that I use for leaf blowers , power tools, etc. and it was a 75' long ext cord and very light,
. I should have known better...I've always used it with either a 10' or 25' 14 ga. cord with NO PROBLEMS. what a dumm dumm. Will I buy another Portland PW. . You betcha. That thing would probably go another 3 years if I just plugged in over at the neighbors house. 👍
I got one of these exact ones this weekend just to do some stuff around the house and I only paid $79 brand new, for the price I’m pretty happy with it for what I use it for!
Score!
I would recommend the Karcher k5. Its more durable and uses water to cool the motor for longer life
I just got my Harbor Freight Portland 1750 PSI Pressure Washer and used it two days straight for about 4 hours each day. I had no problems cleaning algae/mildew off a cinder block retaining wall and a brick patio. Some places were so black that I couldn't tell what color the brick was or see the pattern in the cinder block. I'll be using it again to clean a concrete pool deck that is black in some spots. So far, I am very pleased with this washer. It is a great buy for the price. I took a short video of it cleaning the blocks . I wish there was a way to upload videos with this comment.
Just got this for Christmas! Thank you for the video!
Awesome! Enjoy!
Than youuuu! I'm about to use a pressure washer for the first time today. I need to get the green mold off my siding and then I will plant my flower boxes. The house will look amazing!
Yes it should, have fun!
Bought mine in 2017 and used 3 times. Got it out this year for the first time and the adjustable nozzle will not let the water through. The soap dispenser works when you replace the nozzle with it but for some reason nothing will go through the adjustable wand.
Sounds like something is inside plugging it up
yep me too exact same issue ... exactly to a tee.... what was the deal did you spray WD 40 in the nozzle....?? or buy another or trouble shoot it and find another issue...?? Im puzzled cant figure it out....
Thanks for the video! I actually just bought this a few days ago haven't put it together yet but now I know what to expect 😊👍
me too
good simple start from unboxing to usage Thank You great video
Thank you. I appreciate it!
Looking to buy one so I checked it out on here and your vid was first and you sold it for me. Good video.
Thanks! Appreciate the comment!
It's on sale till tomrw at Harbor Freight. $79. Not a bad deal.
Thanks for the video. I get one today, clean my porch for staining.
I have one of these, as far as the nozzle adjustment I use from the extreme fan to the jet. It can range within this adjustment no need to lock it works fine for me.
Thanks. Was useful.
This was super helpful! Thanks for sharing!
2:06 - After about a year, that handle started dumping water, and would not turn off.
I disassembled it, and the 'valve' cyclinder was very rough and 'piston' did not move
easily. The O-ring was rubbing off everywhere.
Any idea where I can get parts?
Thanks,
North Central Florida
Nice little Pressure Washer. I have their older blue one. Not a bad unit for the price. Yours has the holes on top for holding the wand, small but nice improvement. Stay well Joe Z
Thanks Joe!
You're welcome John.
the fitting that goes on the bottom of gun will just wear away and break eventually from rusting out. Then the gun will leak at the bottom there, ask me how i know......Maybe u try to lube it to prohibit rust and it will last longer for u.
Yeap It happened to mine i might get a new hose n gun
@@peletisalatiitii4694 Yea they sell em seperate, or what i did was just caught me a nice deal on a gas powered one.
I highly recommend picking one these up if you don't have one yet. I thought about getting a 2500-3500 psi honda powered one but wasn't sure if I needed that much power trust me this has enough power for whatever you need it to do.
Thank you for the video. I just got one and it works
Its not discontinued. I am going to buy one for 79.99 at Harbor Freight.
Thanks for sharing this with me, I will get one tomorrow.
Thanks for the review
Thank you!
I had mine for a few years. It's given away though..no pressure. I've tore it apart and replaced some orings..lubed and cleaned. Still no luck. I did this before and it fixed it. I imagine the head needs replaced but the cost is to much given the cost of the machine. The motor is fine and seems well built. Nice vid though
Thanks for sharing
At $70 if it lasts a couple years I will be way ahead. I got a couple quotes to pressure wash my house and the cheapest was $500. This thing will do 80% of what a pro model will do and keep money in your wallet.
great video , sooooo clear and audio was great too thanks
Appreciate it!
mine will adjust to any point between wide or most narrow setting.
Really? Maybe I need to get mine replaced.
Thank you! I didn't know about the wide spray. My aluminum siding looks like I graffitied it with the pencil spray... 😂😔
Haha. Awesome!
I wonder if this would work with a foam cannon
Great video i just purchased this for around the house
Wish it had a third setting between the two beams
Its adjustable between them
Good review, thanks 😎
Good vid sir, well shown overview, thank you. "Pencil stream spray blast"!I was just about to buy that very pressure washer the other day, and then I went to Mr. Whoopie for advise and he told me to use that "pencil Stream spray focus setting" for "me",... and the super "wide spread spray blast" for mainly Chumly's "Poop stains stuck to the side panels and interior of the Travel trailor. Seriously though, I appriciated the over view of "the Portland 1450.
Just bought this and doesnt have enough pressure to even get the dirt film off might need a more higher pressure washer to wash vehicles with. Probably better for cleaning a patio or a deck
What size garden hose do you have attached to it?
Great video, just bought the same one
you think it would be good for cleaning a muddy dirtbike?
Howbdonyou detach the nozzle from the trigger
I tried the half turn and oull but wont come out
Seems worth it. I need it for light home duty stuff. Bought pole saw from them and it leaked oil all over the place. Harbor Fright is a hit and miss kind of store. It you need a certain tool for a one time job it's great but if you are a pro I would not buy their tools. Wonder if the Home Depot brand is better but I am sure it will cost more.
So far its been good, pressure washed my truck, used the soap dispensor, worked great, did my back cement deck, worked well for that too. I do wish there was an in between setting for the spray fan, I have to figure that out yet. Otherwise its been great.
Great review, I'm gonna pick one of these up today.
Thanks! Awesome!
Awesome review. Thanks!
Thanks so much.
I got one on Friday. 😄
Thanks for the review! We're going to grab one today :)
Hope you enjoy it!
Got one like this but I got it from my boss I was wondering it would turn on without the hose connected fine, soon as you turn it on with the hose connected just stopped working! Don’t know if it’s worth it if if something broken inside
Thanks for the upload, this was helpful
Thank you!
I saw how u plugged in soap dispenser in back of machine. Is that where u plug it in when ur using soap or is that just the storage location?
Storage
Bought one about 11 days ago. Used it about 4 times to wash some cars. The fourth time it started losing power. I would squeeze the trigger and it would have psi pressure and then the pressure dropped, back and forth. I wouldn't recommend this product. The foam cannon is small and the foam isn't thick. For the price, it okay. 90 day manufacture warranty, so I'm taking it back and getting another one, hopefully it'll last me alot longer.
Hope so! I used it again sunday to pressure wash a transmission. First time at my new place, I think running throught 100' of hose isnt the best on my well pump, but it worked good!
Thank you! Very good video.
Thanks so much!
Is this powerful enough to clean the second story siding on a two story house?
I bought one and it’s great.
Happy with mine!
This video was helpful. Simple and helpful. Thank you.
Appreciate the comment!
Thank you! I’m washing my car!😁
Exactly what I needed to see to decide to make the purchase! Im glad others posted that the spray nozzle can be adjusted more than just the 2 settings. that would have been a deal breaker for me. Thanx for the great vid!
I should do a follow up video, if the pressure washer isnt running, mine wont stay in any other position other than I shown in the video, but if you adjust it while its running it will stay.. Thanks
JohnVH Life , great info, thank you for posting that!
Hi. I bought the same HF Portland Pressure Washer you just showed. Mine didn't come with the booklet or the screws to hold the handle on. Your video was great and I can use it now but could you look at the directions/parts booklet and tell me the size screws I need to install the handle so I can get them at the hardware store? Or if there is a parts number for them to get them from the manufacturer? Hopefully thanks for your help.
Loretta Mahoney
Just brought one home and it would not power on. Tried 3 different power outlets and now I have to box it back up and take it back.
Did you push the button on the plug in?
looks good ill be getting mine today!
Awesome video I just bought one beginning of the month I love it but..... I have an issue the wand and nozzle off the spray gun please 🔫 any help will be greatly appreciated or if anyone in the comments know how to do it I'll be ever so grateful thanks in advance \m/
Nice power jet and powerful for sure for what i could see on the wood 😳... You have my support #iamacreator
Cool. Good demonstration.
I have the previous version. It works good for washing cars and light cleaning. My only gripe is the hose length. Wish I could have that 20ft one.
My brother has that one too, he loves it, thats what made me get one. I cant imagine a shorter hose, not sure why they would do that.
yea ive heard about that but I saw a video where u can buy uberflex aftermarket hose as an upgrade
How do you detach the nozzle from the trigger
It’s 89.00 now. But I have a 20% coupon
Take one to an RV camp and wash RV's, most need it! Job!
HF did not honor their ad for Easter for $69.99 but raised the price to $79.99!! I still bought it, but ticked me off.
How do you detach the nozzle from thr trigger
Thanks for the video! 🔥
Thank you!!
Thanks!
Thank you!
Great video very helpful!
good review thanks
Did you have problems getting the lower screws for the handle in? Im having a hell of a time because the hole is so deep. Any advise? Thank you!
No
@@JohnVHLife Thanks for the reply.

Done!
Great review. Solid video quality
Thanks, Much appreciated!
What distance will it shoot? I want to clean second floor windows and those barrel roof shingles, to shoot up into them with some power. I'm guessing 20 feet? Obviously on a ladder would work but just from the ground?
Youll get them wet at 20' but I dont think there will be much cleaning power with that distance.
How do u lock soap bottle n to long handle to use to gether I lost my booklet for mine n need to do my deck
Why didn't you show the water hookup connector? Was it plastic or metal. Huge difference.
How do hook up soap dispenser
A nice demo of the pressure washer but seems like an awful waste of water for a task that would be lot quicker with a garden hose & a bit of scrubbing.
Hahaha
nice portland harbor freight presssure washer loud
Great video thanks! but i cant seem to get the long nozzle off so i can use the shampoo bottle. HELP
Push in and twist
Awesomeness
I lost the garden hose adapter. Does anyone know the thread specs for the male brass inlet ? Harbor Freight does not list this as a part that I can order.
Good demo but you did not show how to use the soap dispenser or how to stop using it as far as steps for releasing the pressure and removing the hose etc.
Is the connection at the hose head a standard pressure washer connector? I was wondering if it would work with a third party auto foam cannon?
I have no clue whats standard on a pressure washer, sorry.
Nice vid, thank you.
Thanks! I appreciate it!
A normal water hose can hook up to it you don't need any special attachments
+mic mar correct!
Very nice.
