This unforgettable 1985 Chevrolet Camaro Iroc-Z only has 11 original miles and has been dubbed, “The Holy Grail”. The Third Generation Camaro was produced from 1982-1992. For 1985, Chevrolet introduced the IROC-Z version that was named after the International Race of Champions. Offered as an option package on the Z28, the Camaro IROC-Z featured an upgraded suspension, lowered ride height, Delco-Bilstein shocks, larger diameter sway bars, a steering/frame brace known as the “wonder bar” and a special decal package. The Camaro IROC-Z was on Car and Driver magazine Ten Best list for 1985. The Camaro IROC-Z was produced from 1985-1990. As the original dealership Bill of Sale, Retail Installment Sale Agreement, Insurance policy, Insurance card, Chevrolet Commitment to Excellence letter, Warranty Information and copy of the original title document this car was sold on May 8th, 1985 to Steve Liesch who lived in Millington, New Jersey. Steve knew this car was special and told the dealership he didn't under any circumstances want the car dealer prepped. He wanted all the original exterior chalk marks, window sticker, miscellaneous stickers and interior plastic left untouched. He placed the vehicle inside a large enclosed trailer with 4 miles on the odometer. He removed the original wheels and tires for storage purposes. The car was kept in the same trailer for the next 24 years until it was removed in 2009. A RUclips video documented the entire process which currently has 9.1 million views. It was then featured in Hot Rod Magazine April of 2009 issue. As a copy of the reassigned title documents it was sold on March 13th, 2010 to Oliver Ford located in Plymouth, Indiana with 4 miles on the odometer. As a copy of the reassignment of vehicle by a registered dealer form documents it was sold on April 22, 2011 to Larry's Auto located in Merrill, Iowa. As the current title documents it was sold on April 14th, 2014 to Ken Thwaits who lived in Franklin, Tennessee. Ken is a business owner, car racer and owns a Camaro museum which is where it remained until it was purchased by MS CLASSIC CARS on April 20, 2024.
The exterior of this car is truly remarkable in every sense of the word. The body and paint is in excellent overall condition throughout which is really impressive considering its 39 years old. The lower front plastic bumper does have some spider hairline cracking on the driver's side and small scuffs on the bottom edge. The lower rear bumper also has some small scuffs on the bottom edge. The body retains 100% of its factory original black paint which was tested with an electronic paint meter by the team at MS CLASSIC CARS. Black is a very desirable color among collectors and enthusiasts. The paint was recently detailed to a brilliant shine and looks amazing. From the information gathered the original 16” silver aluminum wheels were replaced with a set of NOS wheels and replacement Goodyear Eagle RS-A 245-50-16 tires.
The original gray custom cloth interior of this car is also truly remarkable in every sense of the word. It actually still has a new car smell to it. The headliner and sun visors do have some wrinkling which is common with the original material. The dash pad, gauges, steering wheel, center console, shifter, door panels, seats, pedals and carpeting are in excellent condition which is reflective of the extremely low original mileage. The door panel arm rests haven't come separated from the panel like most do. The steering wheel, driver's door panel, front seats, rear driver's seat and front carpeting still retains factory original plastic. The factory original four floor mats have plastic on the backside. The factory original rear cargo cover and removable roof panel's storage bag are included. Everything in the interior is in working order with exception of the air conditioning. The AC compressor is frozen from sitting and would need to be replaced. It would also have to be converted to R134.
The engine compartment is highly detailed throughout. The hood struts were replaced with AC Delco replacements and the originals are included. It retains all the factory original assembly paint marks and stickers. There are no signs of oxidation or deterioration. All of the rubber seals and hoses are still pliable. The car is powered by the original 5.0L (305 CID) 4bbl V8 engine. The car was serviced and runs excellent. The engine is coupled to the original 5-speed manual transmission.
The undercarriage is also highly detailed throughout. It retains all the factory original assembly paint marks and stickers.

A beautiful example of a first year IROC. I'd have to have one with TPI...screw the base engine!

    Beautiful car!
I’ve got an identical black, 1985 IROC, ttops, original TPI car with charcoal Lier Siegler interior but mine was Ls1/4L60 swapped and I drive the wheels off of it every chance I get. I’ve got a couple of videos of it on my channel!

It was built on April 22, but we could still count that for when it was sold! That is pretty cool!

Doesnt that single snorkle air cleaner mean that engine is the base LG4 150hp?

@@MSClassicCars that’s awesome!! Saw a video of the previous person who owned it and didn’t even want to drive it. Fear of mileage. Nice to see it again

This will have major issues based on 11 miles. Cars do not like to sit for 30 nears!! My opinion.

I dont get it. Why would you purchase a great new sports car that you would be itching to drive and be seen in and just immediately put it away new for 40 years? I mean, 40 years from now who knows im prob not even gonna be here. Only thing i can think of is he bought 2 of these same specs: he drove one and stored the other

While very cool, what good is it if you don't drive it?, I had the Super Chevy mag it was in and at the time I believe it only had 10 miles on it when they pulled it out of a shipping container, the front spoiler wasn't even installed, who the hell am I kidding, if I had the money I'd buy this bitch and have a glass case in my living room made to park it in and just admire it's beautiful perfection!
