      @@FollowMyLine17 I have the satin steel vert, diff state tho. There’s so many different gm silver” paint codes tho so it’s hard to tell even for me, lighting ppf cleaning etc make it look different where I confuse it with some ppl online/ irl who have the different paint codes of that silver or gray. I think I have never seen Arctic blue or silver or whatever they call it irl on any trim and that’s it.

    Lools good, glad mine came with this! I like the black post on the stock one better than the carbon fiber post. I might just be use to the stock version but the carbon fiber post look out of place.

    Great video. Having done this myself, a big warning is to not drop the nuts into the body of the trunk lid. You can do this by taping the socket to the nut or lowering the lid enough that they will fall free. Otherwise, you may have to fish them out with a magnet.

    • @FollowMyLine17
      @FollowMyLine17  11 месяцев назад

      Great call out. I think I had it in the original cuts, but it didn’t make the final video. I did use a magnet to grab the factory nuts out and put them on.

    Additionally, 50% iso alcohol works better than detail spray for removing adhesive and is paint safe.

      I was using a plastic blade and the eraser wheel to remove the adhesive, so I wanted more lubricity. I actually hit it up with IPA as a final step before I installed the new spoiler.

      With the camera angle all the way down, on the furthest out camera view, you can see the wing. In the mid setting, you can barely see the top of the wing at the very bottom of the mirror, and at the closest zoom setting, you can’t see the wing at all.

    I have an LT RS I want to put the same spoiler on it but I don't know how to cover the holes left by the previous spoiler. What do you recommend?

    • @FollowMyLine17
      @FollowMyLine17  4 месяца назад

      The best way is to try to find a trunk lid without a spoiler or with the standard SS, or ZL1 spoiler from 2018+, which has the reinforced braces within and have it painted. 2016 and 2017 do not. Otherwise you could have a body shop fill the holes. Otherwise you could just use some plastic plugs and paint them to match:

    • @FollowMyLine17
      @FollowMyLine17  8 месяцев назад +1

      Zoomed all the way out, you can see the top of the wing across the bottom third of the screen. Mid zoom it’s just barely across the bottom and zoomed all the way in, it’s not in view at all.

      @FollowMyLine17  11 месяцев назад

      @@fearless798 well we added this wing to a ZL1. You said SS so I a regular SS should use the same holes. If it’s an SS 1LE, you’ll have a bunch of extra holes, and then you’ll have to drill the new ones for the ZL1 1LE wing.

    Did the new wing come with adhesive tape? And to loosen the old wing adhesive what did you use?

    • @FollowMyLine17
      @FollowMyLine17  8 месяцев назад

      The new wing came with adhesive foam. To get the old stuff off I used a plastic scraping blade and a 3M adhesive removal wheel attached to a drill.

    I would like to put this wing on a convertible ZL1. Any suggestions on what to do with the wing mounted camera that comes on the convertible?

    • @FollowMyLine17
      @FollowMyLine17  5 месяцев назад

      Wildhammer sells a 1LE style spoiler with a camera hole in it. It is made by EOS, so it’s a bit different than this one, but in 2019 the rear view camera on the ZL1 1LE was in the spoiler itself. If you use the wildhammer link in the description, you can then search the shop for it.
