The problem is he may never hit the 1000 regardless of what he does. Gear alone for him is not even close to enough to hit that. Even if his program is set up 100% for strength gains it will be very tough to hit. Does he want to start taking extra gear when there's a good chance he never hits it anyway. He should just try be taking what he is now. He's already taking a lot, and taking more likely won't add anymore to his deadlift. That said, I don't know where his body is physically and if he can go for the 1000 right now.

There's only so many people in the world who can bench like that (that much weight with that much explosiveness) that he's practically doing his own lift at this point. Yes it's just a bench press and for ROM, he should ideally extend more but you have to realize that it's only ideal for powerlifting to have proper form for bench. He's the top of the top, a world class athlete, he's not going to train like how me and you would. I'm an exercise and health science major in college rn, I know I almost have no grounds to critique Larry Wheels, so rather I find ways his training is actually effective and proper bc it clearly is.

Wouldn't count any of those reps..that being said, you could most likely do around 16 full range power meet reps. Your single rep lifts are more impressive.
