    In this video I show how to turn your phone light or other LED lights into a makeshift UV light.
    Sadly it's not as powerful as a regular UV seeing as all we're doing is filtering out the visible light, and not actually generating any more UV. But it's strong enough to at least have some fun with. And can make a cool party trick!!
    This is not my own original Idea, I was shown it by a friend whom had learned it from someone else, just to clarify... Though I believe I'm the first to try Incandescent lights.
    Anyways thanks for watching!!

    I've been wondering if someone could simply take a high-powered flashlight and put a optical UV filter lens on it like you would use for a camera. The lenses are cheap and I've been wanting to try it but was hoping to see someone with a similar idea before doing it myself. They sell 365 NM optical lenses a lot of places I just don't know if it will work when a light is shined through it rather than filtering a camera.

      If the regular light shines on the resins can't cure it then this sadly won't either. Remember that we are not making UV light here. Simply filtering out the other light so you can see the UV or near UV already in it.

    so your phone is producing uv but the tape filters it so technically your phones torch is the cleanest place on your phone.

    • @TrollFaceTheMan
      @TrollFaceTheMan  7 лет назад +1

      +banana gaming the problem with that though is it produces very little UV-c which is what destroyes DNA and kills bacteria.
      The phone light mainly is going to produce near uv and a tad bit of UV-a which for the most part is harmless to bacteria.

      You are probably thinking of UVB and UVC both of which come from the sun, though UVC is basically all filtered out by the atmosphere but both of those can be quite nasty.
      This light will mainly have UVA and Near UV which is basically harmless unless you shine it into your eyes for awhile. Remember we are not creating any new light here, we are simply filtering out non UV light. So this filter makes it no more harmful than the original unfiltered light coming strait from the LED.

    • @TrollFaceTheMan
      @TrollFaceTheMan  7 лет назад +3

      Yeah no problem I try to reply when I can, but what is happening is the tape is filtering out other spectrum of light and leaving only UV and Purple/Blue behind..
      Basically white light is actually a rainbow with red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. What the colored tape is removing is all Colors but Blue, Indigo and Violet.
      So it filters the light, not tints it. That was what I was trying to imply.

    • @TrollFaceTheMan
      @TrollFaceTheMan  4 года назад +1

      @@raccoonperson8895, I try to yes. Basically light isn't colored only filtered. (There are exceptions like with phosphorescents but that doesn't apply here.)
      If you pass a white light through a red filter the white light appears to change red but what's actually happening is all other colors that are making up the white light Excluding the red are being absorbed or reflected. The red light you see pass through the filter was always there, not created. As such if you tried to pass pure blue light through that pure red filter nothing would come through as there is no passable spectra.
      Same here, we are not making any UV light or coloring the light. We are filtering out other Colors of light to make the UV light usable. The UV light is always there, just not super strong.

  • @alexdev6161

    it is fake! uv light is much different!

    • @TrollFaceTheMan
      @TrollFaceTheMan  7 лет назад

      I can assure you this most defiantly is not fake. Once again this is a light filter that removes all but Uv & Near Uv spectrum from LED's emitted light.
      And another thing is if it was fake wouldn't you think that out of over 25,000 views I'd have more than 8 dislikes and a lot less than 175 likes..?

    • @TrollFaceTheMan
      @TrollFaceTheMan  7 лет назад

      Once again, LED's produce 390-400nm which is still UV. You filter out the other colors and you are left with a week UV light. Also do you have a source to your claim that the markers react with blue light?

    • @alexdev6161
