Grazie! Scarlatti in questo brano sem bra volerci incitare a insistere (quelle due note così ossessivamente ripetute) nel realizzare un progetto. nonostante gli alti e bassi della vita.

I think this is a decent but not top-grade sonata, but you may be nearer the truth than you realise. It's said that Scarlatti's employer, the Portuguese princess Maria Magdalena Barbara who later became queen of Spain, regularly required Scarlatti to perform a couple of sonatas for her before she would pay off his considerable gambling debts.
Well, that kind of IS what most of almost all his sonatas were; They were kind of his "OK you did that last sonata well, now I need to quickly write a new one for next week's music lesson." The Princess, who must have been quite a virtuosic Cziffra of her time, often would ace these and ask him to write more, with pay. I'd say 9/10 of his sonatas were not bc Scarlatti wanted to write them--but also yes still--but more bc he could kill 2 birds with one stone: create music he liked, and earn a substantial income for it. Some sonatas that he wrote NOT for the princess are K.9, K. 30, K. 41, K. 52, K. 63 (or was it 64??) K. 69, & K. 87. Of course there is more, but again, Scarlatti had, or must have had a decent and fun time just simply writing and teaching the Princess, or he would have written more structured and rubricked pieces.
There is nothing better than being able to listen to such a great performance
This is one of Scarlatti's wittiest sonatas, and thats saying something! 😊

Blaze it, ScarLITti
The harmony in the exposition was really unexpected. One of the most interesting Scarlatti sonatas.

Familiar de lito vitale, que crack
I love scarlatti but this one doesn't feel as inspired as most of the other sonatas. Almost feels like it was written to pay the gas bill

This has always been one of my favorite Scarlatti sonatas.
