So i had the same problems, my crowding is went away, but the most noticeable jaw changes wont happen til youre like 8 monthes in and you’ll get your elastics for your class 2 bite
When treating for class ll and class lll with elastics it actually changes the face in a negative way. Yes, it corrects the bite, but it also recedes both the maxilla and mandible, statistically making you less attractive.
@@ayad3834 regular braces, or braces without the bands/elastics, have no affect on both lower and upper jaw. Braces only move teeth, they will normally align your teeth accordingly with your dental arch ( if not severely narrow, otherwise you’ll start with a palate expander). In some cases, it may seem like your palate has widen a lil bit as a result of braces, but it’s just your teeth has moved forward and/or outward a bit ( which is not a bad thing, more space for your tongue), your palate is the same. Now, I can’t say what your results will be if you only got braces because it depends on how narrow your palate is and how crowded your teeth are. But if they were to extract teeth out then your jaw (depending which jaw they extracted teeth from) will slowly but surely recede over the years causing more health problems. @@gabriellameattray9778 it can help significantly but for the most part-mewing cant change misaligned teeth in most cases. If its mild, then yes, but if your teeth are crooked getting braces+mewing can be a better option
Some signs of retraction include deeper nasolabial folds, flat/dished in or sloped back profile, under chin area sagging from tongue not fitting in upper arch properly, nose looking more prominent and/or more downturned, less lip support, black corridors at sides of smile.
Extracting teeth was one of the dumbest mistakes I've made. My face became flat and strange looking which was only fixed after getting dental implants and wouldn't you know it, THERE WAS ENOUGH SPACE FOR THEM ALL! Im honestly not sure what these dentists are thinking... I guess 3 procedures are more profitable than one.
It's not for everyone and it's overutilized in some countries because we don't have access to solid data on how often or how severe damage to the periodontal complex is when the teeth are flared out too much with orthodontic treatment (instead of extracting). But the thing you have to realize is if everyone who had premolar extractions *for crowding* had the same extraction reversal treatment you did, you would find that some percentage of them would slowly begin to see bony dehiscences, gingival recession, root exposure and increased susceptibility to periodontal disease as a direct result of moving the teeth beyond the alveolar bone's capacity to remodel. Just because all the teeth appear to fit in the arch when the braces come off doesn't mean it'll stay that way. The consequences take a while to reveal themselves. Sorry to say, you're not out of woods yet, but I sincerely hope luck is on your side and that extractions were indeed unnecessary in your case.
I had an overbite so the dentist had to extract 4 teeth while I still had my braces (2 from top and 2 from the bottom). Problem is, when my teeth had readjusted to close the gaps that the extraction created, I then developed tmj, my jaw hurts and locks a lot when I chew and my face became square. I had a rounder face prior to braces, jaw was not visible. After braces, my jaw seems to grow wider and it's evident especially when the wind blows through my hair and exposes my face. I am still looking if the facial bones can be corrected back to its position. What surgical procedures should I go through? What natural alternative would work? Recommendations would be highly appreciated.
@@riddhiyadav4329 mine did not hurt during the process because of anesthesia. Or it depends on your pain tolerance actually. I'm sure the dentist is good and you will not feel any pain, just the pressure.

@King i think they are talking about how extracting teeth basically affects your jawline and airways in a negative way honestly i agree say no or change your orthodontist if they say theyll extract your teeth theres plenty of evidence about how harmful it can be
I Agree, Don't extract teeth or you'll regret it. I speak from experience. I live in regret everyday... Having my teeth extracted for braces is my one and only regret in life. My orthodontist recommended I extract 4 teeth, I was young/naive and listened to what he said was "best." It ruined my face.... it wasn't what was best for me, it was best and easiest for him. I'm currently looking into getting my spaces opened back up and implants to fix what was done.
@King I believe there's a misunderstanding. I'm talking about having extractions done before getting braces. When you get teeth extracted for orthodontic treatment the orthodontist uses the braces to close the gaps from the extraction site which in turn narrows the arch of the mouth causing facial changes and other issues as well. It's not necessarily the extractions themselves that cause the issue. It's having the gaps from the extractions closed with orthodontic procedure that can cause adverse effects.
I've experienced wisdom tooth extraction last 2020 before covid so now my plan is to have braces but they say it hurts a lot 🤣 I'm not yet ready for a porridge diet only
I think it depends, Before getting braces I thought that I have eat soft foods for about week or two but that's not the case- I got my braces 4 days ago and I'm fine so don't worry. It just feel painful for a day or two. Good luck!

I have an overbite and crowding. It's doesn't look that bad but still I am very insecure about it. Yesterday I told my parents that I want braces but they don't think that it's a big problem and I don't need it:( I badly want it😭. I know its expensive and time consuming but still I will tell them again and let's hope for the best🤞😢
I hv the same problem as urs there is no that much of visible prob with my teeth but still I extracted my 4 teeth 3 days ago nd as u said I was also so insecure about my teeth nd how I looked while smiling that's y decided to put braces on nd if u can't tolerate the feeling of insecurity talk to ur parents about it nd talk to ur close friends about it nd ask their genuine opinion of on putting the braces..ask them whether ur current teeth is better or not and visit a orthodontist nd ask opinion about putting braces on ur teeth they will gv their opinion nd think twice about whether u wanna really extract teeth because once u extract it u can't go back.

@@gayaquinn7177 thanks a lot for ur advice GAYA, i will really keep that in mind. It gonna help me a lot:)
Actually my mom said ok i think I also gonna have braces soon✌
So i had the same problems, my crowding is went away, but the most noticeable jaw changes wont happen til youre like 8 monthes in and you’ll get your elastics for your class 2 bite
When treating for class ll and class lll with elastics it actually changes the face in a negative way. Yes, it corrects the bite, but it also recedes both the maxilla and mandible, statistically making you less attractive.
How about if I have a narrow smile, and i decide to get normal braces, will it expand my maxilla or recede it?

@@elvisbaezg2966 interesting, I’ve been watching dr mike mew for a while now, and I have been mewing, my palate has expanded a little bit, I could fit more of my tongue on the roof of my mouth compared to the beginning, so it’s evident that I’ve made some progress, my cheekbones haven’t bulged out that much, and my smile is pretty narrow, you could only see 6 upper teeth when I smile and it looks weird, which is why I want to get braces to push it out so it can be broad, and I also think that as a result of my my narrow smile, my maxilla has been affected which is why it’s not pushed out that much

@@gabriellameattray9778 it can help significantly but for the most part-mewing cant change misaligned teeth in most cases. If its mild, then yes, but if your teeth are crooked getting braces+mewing can be a better option
@@gabriellameattray9778 When you say worse... in what way?? You mean thiner? or smaller?... how?
Some signs of retraction include deeper nasolabial folds, flat/dished in or sloped back profile, under chin area sagging from tongue not fitting in upper arch properly, nose looking more prominent and/or more downturned, less lip support, black corridors at sides of smile.
you're really good at explaining things, detailed
Wow never seen a doctor so energetic 😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I am gonna get my 4 theet extraction tomorow I am super scared did it hurt?
@@riddhiyadav4329 mine did not hurt during the process because of anesthesia. Or it depends on your pain tolerance actually. I'm sure the dentist is good and you will not feel any pain, just the pressure.
@@riddhiyadav4329 Its really bad. Especially if they are going to close the spaces your face will lengthen look worst and you will or might develop tmj and sleep apnea. Please tell them to not close the gap with retraction if already done but with implants. Look out orthotropics on youtube or mewing
@@boubi9329 u scaring me I am getting the extraction for braces and my dentist said that this is the only way to push back my theet

I hate how braces change my face shape! I used to have long oval face. Even when I smile, my face didn’t seem so big. After 3 years of braces, I realized that my face is rectangular and smiling makes my face look so big! 😢I have a slim body so I have big face and small body. That’s so ugly! I couldn’t even smile anymore in photos. And when I laugh, people comment that I’m ugly. Just now, I got my braces off and even after taking them off, my face still looks rectangular. It was better when I had gaps in my teeth before braces!
Western doctors make people ugly they like the strong masculine appearance

Braces are ok, but NEVER extract teeth or you will regret :)
Y ??wat to do if d tooth is completely damage.
@King I'm glad you didn't have any negative side effects like some people do. You're lucky.
"Your face may look shorter. Like a chipmunk!" 🤣🤣
Good luck!
It will gives you tmj do not close the gaps created by extraction with orthodontics treatment put an implant instead ruclips.net/video/8Y4qVy9ZgUg/видео.html
