@@santoshkasi9499 yes they can! There are obviously benefits to both but if there is too large of a price difference we would certainly recommend that you get braces instead!
I honestly can't believe how I had no idea abt mouth breathing, hard foods, and tongue posture's importance til recently. It's a shame how it isn't more common knowledge.
We are glad to hear that we've been able to teach you something about your oral health! We made this video because we really thought that the information needed to get to as many people as possible. Thanks for watching.
I'm trying to get braces because people used to laugh at my face, especially my close friends, right now i don't even have any friends, cos i never leave my house anymore and stop talking to them. It hurts so much more than someone could think. Sadly I even get so happy sometimes because of this quorantine and covid for some reasons.. i'm sorry 😔
@@msbrt8638 thank you, I got my braces last saturday on my upper teeth, today i'll be getting on my lower teeth. Hoping to get the best result possible 🙂
@@DentalNowPanorama You must be very hepful to people who know nothing about all of that (myofonctionnal therapy, mouth breathing). As Heathcare provider, you're are honest and don't fall on scientific bias. 😄
I have a very asymmetrical face, and my dental arch is also very asymmetrical, this is why I think braces would help in this situation... I hope I will be able to get braces soon to fix this problem.
Thanks for watching. We wish you luck. Braces are effective at moving teeth, but not very effective in changing the jaw structure. For a jaw structure asymmetry it’s important to address any Myofuntional issues that contributed to the problem. A Myofuntional therapist can help you for that. Depending on the severity, hopefully it will improve over time. Otherwise surgery may be required for some cases.
@@Aravindgvm really? How did your lower jaw look like before because my right side is a bit lower than the left and my chin is a bit going on the right side too and I hope that braces will fix that because I don't want to get surgery..
@@DentalNowPanorama so are you saying braces wont fix an overbite because i thought they did? i mean isnt fixing an overbite by moving the lower jaw forward since the top jaw is more advance?
I don’t know about face symmetry but braces did changed my life. I had ugly sets of teeth and I wanted to change them. Never had confidence because of my teeth’s, so got braces, extracted 4 teeth’s, got 2 temporary implant and lastly one permanent implant. Braces lasted for 3 years, suffered through lot of pain. I wasn’t able to eat properly. But now I think it is worth it. I can smile freely without any worries and I am gonna continuing smiling no matter how much ruined I am, no matter what bad I do or bad happening in my life because I had painfull braces for three damm years.
So do you think braces affected your face/jawline or not? I had 4 teeth extracted too and now I am 2 years in this and this summer I think I will get them off. But I am very worried since I saw some people saying that braces ruines your face or jawline.....
@@saoirsescanlon7698 the extractions and braces did not ruin my jawline or face (atleast this is what I think and know for the moment) but I will look at before and after pictures when I will take off my braces which will be aproximatively this summer. I saw some people discussing about that getting the wisdom teeth extracted ruined their jawline or face. I didn't get extracted those teeth because they did not even came out yet. Now I'm hoping that everything goes well and all the effort and pain I went through this time with my braces will pay off.
@@saoirsescanlon7698 in what way could your jawline be ruined? Could you please explain cause this issue isn't usually discussed in RUclips videos about braces.
@@stickyschannel8497 I had 1 of my close to front teeth taken out for braces and then I mewed with braces on for 6-9 months in Australian isolation. I was 10kg heavier at the time so I thought I couldn’t see the results but it was actually just because I was carrying more fat. When I lost all the weight my jaw was too full on. All my wisdom teeth came down/up and thanks to the mewing I thought I’d made enough room and would get to now keep them. My dentist initially said they would all need to come out (before pandemic.) Then another dentist I had later , said they were fine and only one might be of concern but otherwise yes I could now keep them. One thing to note though is that I mewed at 23 , my facial development already in place pretty much. So with my new mewed jaw I did start to feel I noticed “pressure” from my teeth that come down/up now reinforcing the mewing I’d done and holding in it’s new place. Like my jaw wasn’t or couldn’t fully relax. This is just what I noticed way later on (few months back.)
In my case, even without extraction, my face kinda changed, not major, but i've noticed that my lower face became more defined, i love how my cheekbones are more tucked and my jaw became like wider. Love it!

I got my braces few months ago and currently I seriously don't like my face changes.. I'm literally so sad with it I'm getting depressed.. I need my old looks back.. I wish I wouldn't have gotten braces..

You should just make sure that he's aware about the fact that you're not happy with your current smile because it's really hard to help you without seeing you in person or without being one of our patients so that we can actually make these adjustments. Hopefully you can have an open discussion with your orthodontist about your condition! Thanks for watching our videos we really appreciate it
To prevent unwanted facial changes avoid extraction and retraction. If you have metal mechanically dragging your teeth and alveolar bone back to close spaces then it will change far more drastically than diet and habit within that same time frame. Not all orthodontist cause facial damage but many are not even aware that's what they're doing. I had mine done at 13 without knowing the risks, I did not give informed consent, the damage has been life altering.
Why wasn't tongue tie mentioned? A tongue tie will prevent the tongue resting against the hard palate, it can cause tongue thrust swallowing, and it can exacerbate mouth breathing. These things don't fix themselves.
You're so right! Tongue ties actually play a huge role when it comes to facial structure. There can be a lot of underlying reasons for crooked teeth and this was supposed to just be a brief introduction. Ultimately you should still see a dentist because they will give you a much more individualized solution than any youtube video can. We actually made another video that discusses some exercises you can do to work on some of the underlying causes of crooked teeth. We mentioned tongue-tie in these videos. I noticed though that most people I met if not all who had braces do not have a very visible jawline and they often have double chin even though they are skinny. For example, my friend who didn’t have braces, has a noticeable jawline, almost boxy. His sister who had braces, has a very small jawline and has double chin even though she is skinny. Of course gender and genetics play their roles, but how the braces changed her face is really obvious since both their parents have strong and defined jawline like their son. Based on what I read from researches and observation too, people with diet of mostly soft food will usually have problem with teeth crowding because less effort on chewing makes the jawline smaller making braces necessary which then will further narrow the jawline. In contrast, people with less access on soft food like pressure cooked meat, will usually have wider jaw and not have issues with teeth crowding.
We are glad to hear you decided to go through with treatment. As you're well aware, each case is different so it's highly recommend that people visit multiple dentists before proceeding with any treatment. Come back and let us know how your results come along!

I probably need invisalign or braces again now. The anoying part is that my teeth moved forward at an angle so it gets in the way when i close my mouth. It doesnt feel natural to close my miuth now cuz i can feel my top teeth.

Hello Cynthia, thanks for reaching out! Hopefully we are able to give you a hand! I wish braces can really help me because i have Crossbite teeth and im really bothered with it Because my face look long thats why im experiencing bullying right now
Hey Whitney, I'm so sorry to hear about you getting bullied. We understand just how important your smile can be so hopefully I can give you a hand! Usually, we can't make any recommendations for you without seeing you first, but if all you're currently dealing with is a crossbite, then you may actually be able to use both Braces and Invisalign to fix this issue! I would suggest you consider visiting a few orthodontists/dentists in your local home-town that provide both Invisalign and Braces and find ones that don't charge for a consultation. Invisalign would probably be a much better solution for you because it will be really hard to tell that you're straightening your teeth and this way you can actually take them out when you're eating and such. For most of the patients that we see at our office, we recommend Invisalign as technology has gotten significantly better over the years. In some circumstances, we've seen that Invisalign could also be faster than Braces! Hopefully, this helps answer your question. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any more questions! We would also really appreciate it if you could subscribe to our channel. It would mean a lot to us.

I hope that you're telling these concerns to your dentist! As we mentioned, there's a lot of factors that could cause this and it's best that he's fully aware of your thoughts and concerns. He should be there for you throughout your treatment.
I just got braces and was told i will have to do two extractions and i was very concerned because i am seeing all these videos about how getting extraction is very bad because it changes your face and interferes with other oral things.....🤷🤷
Did anyone face looked sunken in and your cheeks are prompt, along with sunken temples? Within 2 weeks of getting my braces on I notice that my face is changing from a square face to more of a heart shaped face. I still eat the same things and I’m still the same weight as before, but for some reason my chubby/muscular jaw muscles are gone. My orthodontist said noting he did should have caused the changes to my face. So can anyone tell me where or whom I can check to get my face examined so that they can find a cause of there is one?
The reason why he's saying that is because there may be a concern that you can actually damage the braces and make them come off your teeth, but at the same time it's better for your muscle structure to eat harder foods. This is just one of the many reasons why we prefer to put patients into invisalign instead! Thanks for watching.

I had invisalign treatment as an adult for overbite and overcrowded lower teeth, but the result were sunken cheeks, weak jawline, narrow smile the list is endless. I am hoping and researching to reverse the treatment. If you can give me any advice I will appreciate it.
Hello, hopefully we can answer your question! Dr. Dhillon has personally treated over 2000 invisalign cases and he's only had one patient out of 2000 that has mentioned that she had sunk in cheeks, it was actually a lady that was pregnant. So it was really hard to say if there were any other factors involved. The other side of it is that Dr. Dhillon was wondering if there were any teeth extractions completed when you first started Invisalign? Here at our office we actually have a no extraction policy for orthodontics because we believe that we should focus on expanding the arch and improving tonge space and therefore airway. Dr. Dhillon says that he has unfortunately worked on quite a few patients who have previously had orthodontic treatment done with multiple extractions and they were unhappy with the width of their smile and or had airway problems. The only solution was treatment where we expanded the arch which created space that could be managed by either making certain teeth wider with cosmetic bonding or even making room for dental implants that are able to replace the teeth which are able to be removed. This is the number one reason that we suggest visiting multiple dentists when you get an orthodontic consultation because there are many ways to straighten your teeth and not a lot of dentists focus on expanding arches to improve tongue space and the airway as well as correcting myofunctional problems. Hopefully we've been able to help guide you in the right direction! If you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to ask us. We would be more than happy to help. We would also really appreciate it if you could subscribe to our channel. It would mean a lot to us! I hope you have a great day
I heard and seen multiple examples of braces and elastics specifically to fix and overbite underbite etc it will pull back your jaw and make you look bad. You will have a recessed Chin and all of that. Is this true?
So. If you had good face structure when you were a keed. Then basically... Mewing is the option to somehow fix those things cuz you know I had a side profile of anime character with 90 degree lower jaw and perfect nose bridge and shape. I had a problem with my nose which... Made me breath my mouth resulting in round face and longer face.... So mewing is the option.
Hello! Thanks for your question. Hopefully we are able to help. Usually we recommend that patients who have an overbite get orthodontic treatment as this will be the easiest and most effective way to fix the problem. However, we would suggest you looking into something called Invisalign. It's very similar to braces but it's a clear alternative that you can remove when necessary. This will ensure that you you can eat and drink without any discomfort and struggle when it comes to keeping your teeth clean. The solution is also much better because people don't tend to notice it as much as they do when it comes to braces. Over the last few years we've actually been able to treat quite a few severe cases with Invisalign instead of Braces and we've actually done a lot more Invisalign treatment at our office than braces! Hopefully we've been able to answer your question! If you have any others please don't hesitate to ask us we would be more than happy to help! Hello. Thank you so much for reaching out. We hope we can guide you in the right direction. Yes, you can certainly still practice proper tongue posture with braces! There may be some exercises that are a little harder with braces but overall you should absolutely be focusing on fixing these underlying conditions. We actually just posted a video that details some of the exercises that you can do for better tongue posture. The video is about 6 minutes long and it talks about some other exercises that you can do at home to help with your orthodontic condition. I will attach the link so that you can watch it. ruclips.net/video/FIcNLaUnpUU/видео.html In regards to it improving your face, honestly it really depends on a few external factors such as your age, how long you practice these exercises, and the time duration tha you're expecting the changes. All these play a huge role in our patients success, but we do believe that over the long term you will see some minor changes to your face shape. If you want to learn some more details about this (it is a long podcast), Joe Rogan had a fantastic podcaster recently. About 3 weeks ago, he had a journalist named James Nestor. I will also attach his video so you can get a lot more information about some really interesting factors that influence your overall health! Braces don't like the shape of your mouth and it grows back in right that's why all you needed was a retainer misalignment can be readjusted through mouthwash
I had my braces when I was 19, got my overjet fixed with premolar extraction and wisdom teeth removal. Let’s say my face looks more receded. Unfortunately I’m in braces again at 36 but because of my coverbite and curve of spee. Hopefully it will not be further dished in
When I smile my teeth are pointing inwards towards my tongue and in profile my mouth and lips look a bit sunken in. It’s not terrible obvious but it’s the polar opposite of protruding teeth.
Hello, I wanted to ask what’s the reason for wearing braces for the second time? Did you have Relapse after the 1st time braces? Did you wear retainers?
@@razestarso when I was 19 I only got braces on my upper jaw, and I was never informed that my lower jaw was set back so the extractions where explained to as too big teeth for a too small jaw. In reality my upper teeth weren’t supported by my lower teeth but grew over the lower teeth into a deep overbite making me bite into my gums. It didn’t look crooked but i wondered why my top teeth tilted inwards. Right now my lower teeth are aligned so they flare out a bit more and my incisors are intruded so my bite is opened and I need to wear rubber bands to get my jaws align correctly👍🏼
My top incisors were extracted and my teeth pulled together. This gave me less tongue space, an imperfect smile and lead to sleep apnea and possibly TMJ. Im now working with another orthodontic who informed me of these problems and how we might fix them. My braces will be removed, we'll over time see if there opens up spaces between my upper teeth, which is what we want, for me to stop breathing through my mouth at night. Also in the future Ill be wearing a device which will make my right teeth rest in a normal bite whilel the left teeth have an open bite which will fix TMJ.
U know, after extracting and before the spaces have been closed, I learned about toung space and reversed everything, thangs God I knew about this stuff, even though I'm obviously late l, but this is the best I could do now.. It was very hard mentally

I currently have braces and its been about 4 months. My temple and cheeks have completely sunken. I haven't lost weight and in fact I gained about 4 pounds since getting braces. It's not in my head because everyone that sees me ask how come I've lost so much weight. Will my temple and cheeks/temple get back to normal after I remove my braces?
I'm 40. Soon I will get my teeth issues addressed. I have a wisdom tooth on my upper right side which is protruding substantially. It sometimes causes me pain and it could be responsible for having caused two nearby teeth to move slightly. Both the wisdom tooth and the two errant teeth have been there for around five years now. I also have some crowding on my lower jaw which I am prepared to have corrected with braces even though such procedures can take a few years to complete. Lastly, teeth whitening could be something I look into if needed.
Anyone here that had their crossbite corrected? I have one toward the back of the mouth and can't decide if its worth correcting. My dentist has told me it depends on whether I can live with the incessant cheekbite or not (which doesn't at all help me decide if removing 2-4 teeth is worth it???). Would wanna understand how it affects your face to be better informed.
Hi there! I'm scheduled to get braces in about a month. I am 15 years old and I have 4 gaps in my top teeth (1 in the middle of my front two teeth, and 1 on either side of them), and no gaps in my bottom. My teeth are also pretty straight and I have no crowding what so ever. The orthodontist told me that to close the gaps, she would need to pull my teeth back. However, I do not have an overbite or any other bite than a normal one, so I would have to get a bottom row of braces with rubber bands. My biggest questions are: Is the orthodontist correct? Will there be any changes in my face? and, Will my mouth still function the same (like, will my mouth still be closed when it rests? Will I have to force it to shut?)? Thank you!
Sir, I am searching this question for days. I have a receding chin so will the braces work for them too. Will the braces fix the overbite and receding chin both at the same time. I am 17 years old. I don't know why?!!! Anybody reading my comment...select your orthodontist carefully someone who is well known and reputed or else your whole life will be ruined like mine whose teeth and jaw are now misalined, teeth are damaged , bite is messed up , the whole craniofacial structure is messed up, stay and movement of my lips is messed up, tongue resting within the frame of the teeth is uncomfortable leading do speech impairment!! And when finally all this happened my orthodontist said the work is done your braces are going to get removed!!
We are so sorry to hear about your bad treatment! we do always recommend and suggest each of our patients that they consider multiple different orthodontists and dentists around their Hometown before making a final decision. It's critical that they get multiple opinions from multiple different dentists and not just go with the first one that they found. The thing is it's really hard to say that one thing caused adjustments in your bones because there's a lot of other factors that may have also been an influence to actually get you to the problems that you're currently at. It's really hard to pinpoint one specific reason blame it on that. we would suggest that you do visit a few other orthodontist around your hometown as well to see if there's anything that can be done about your individual case. Everybody is so different when it comes to their teeth, so it's really hard to say that some things may or may not work for you.
Hello Dr, I am currently a 14 year old girl, most of my friends have all there adult teeth by now however one of mine are missing. In January of 2019, I done a small surgery on that particular tooth (bottom right incisor) where the dentist removed a ball of undeveloped tooth and other substances which was said to be blocking the growth of the incisor and that this has been caused by a tumour. The dentist explained that my tooth should start to break through the gum in a matter of 2 months. Fast forward to today, my tooth has not come through and it has been almost 2 years. I am very worried about this and considering the COVID situation we are in, I cannot do much right now. I have done my research and proposed that due to the fact I used to suck on my thumb when I was younger and sleep with my mouth open, my face has not developed the correct way, my jaw is quite narrow, cheekbones are sunken face is asymmetrical and lower face is appearing to be long, therefore my tooth does not have enough space to grow. Therefore, I really need your advice, how can I professionally get the doctors to fix my improper facial development (rise cheekbones and widen jaw) other than of course, plastic surgery and do you have any other theories as to why my tooth has not come out yet? What can be done for it to grow?
Hello, thank you so much for your question. It seems like you've done quite some research. Hopefully, we are able to help guide you in the right direction! Typically we wouldn't do surgery on patients your age because they aren't fully done growing. we usually do this for people in their very late teens or early twenties. at your age, there are non-surgical, orthodontic techniques that can potentially still make a profound improvement. Dr. Dhillon would suggest having a few consultations, ideally looking for someone who does a combination of orthodontic treatment and myofunctional treatment. (someone who can address the disorders of the muscles, face and the mouth) in the meantime, your best option is to work on your mouth breathing while you wait until you can actually start orthodontic treatment. Regarding your unerupted teeth, it is very difficult for us to give our opinion, without seeing your x-rays and seeing how close or far your teeth are from erupting, how much root development is still left, and other factors. It is pretty hard to say, but there are times where teeth need to be assisted with their eruption using orthodontic treatment. Again, this is something that should be assessed by whatever dentist or orthodontist you see during your consultations. We would certainly recommend that you get this checked out sooner rather than later. Hopefully, this helps, if you have any other questions please don't hesitate to reach out and ask. We would really appreciate you subscribing to our channel as we are trying to help as many people as possible! Thank you so much!

Hey i have a question so all these people out there saying that braces ruined their face is it because of these bad habits?or do braces actually make your maxilla go in and make the face look flat or back
It's really hard to say because each individual case is so different from each other. Some people might not be doing things properly in order to make sure that their face doesn't change they could also be doing a lot of negative habits such as mouth breathing that could hinder their long-term facial positioning. each case is so different that it's hard to say whether or not braces will actually do this, however we do recommend patients who have crooked teeth get them fixed as soon as possible so that they don't endure further damage or problems later on.
We really believe in some of his philosophy! Although his practises are fantastic, we still recommend doing combinations with traditional orthodontic methods to ensure that things are adjusted properly and that you're on the right track. We actually always recommend working on patients negative habits as well as getting orthodontic treatment so that they can get the most out of their smile. If you have any questions about your oral health, please let us know! We would be more than happy to help you any way we can!
We are planning on making a video very shortly on Mewing and the benefits around it! Thanks for the comment 🙏 we would appreciate you subscribing to our channel. It would mean a lot to us!
it's really not a simple straight forward answer, because each patient differs. However not necessarily no, but changes in your diet such as avoiding hard foods can potentially cause some negative damage to your facial structure.
Good morning, I have been using the appliance for 4 months, I have a prominent jaw and 32 teeth in the dental artery. I am currently using braces to close the gaps in my lower incisor teeth, and I am afraid that this may cause a recession in my jaw. I also have class 1 but the dentist said I have to use rubber bands to pull my teeth back. I will not do that. And I also think that it is only possible to use elastic bands when making extractions, since I have all my teeth. What do you think?
I can't help but mouth breathe because of my pushed out chin and above that, the braces I got recently. Will it get better after the braces. Also can braces fix unwanted gummy smile??? Does braces plays no role at all in reducing gummy smile even a bit?
Hello, thanks for your question. Hopefully we are able to help you out. Unfortunately it's really hard to say for your case and a lot of it has to do with some other factors such as your age. You will see a dramatic difference in your overbite though which should really help your face fit better as well. If you have any other questions or concerns we'd be more than happy to help! We would really appreciate you subscribing to our channel as we post a lot of content about oral health and facial changes from orthodontics
@@DentalNowPanorama thank you! I've subscribed :) I'm 15 and I have a class II division 2 overbite. In general, do braces push your lips forward and create more of a "pouty" look? I've heard of people getting braces off and saying their lips seem smaller because the braces made them look bigger
If it helps u. I had full lips and now I have to get fillers . My jaw became large . They took two teeth out the top and bottom to fix my over bite. And now I have my.perfect smile . I hate my dace my lips . I hate my face . Yes it does change ur lips . If your doctor tells u otherwise he Is lying. I'm now looking into veneers to put my over bite back
Ms Venegas wait why do u hate ur face and smile? Doesn’t braces help improve the shape of ur face? I do have a question, if u have an overbite and fixed it with braces does that make ur jaw loook larger or longer as a result?
Since there's a lot of factors at play with your question and there seems to be a lot of other people who have the same interest, I will make sure that Dr. Dhillon covers this in-depth in an upcoming video! Thank you so much for the question and please stay tuned we will get to this fairly soon. - Steven, Marketing Director Dental Now Panorama
Hello! I had a minor underbite and spaces so I got braces. It’s been 1.5 years now but I feel like my lower jaw just shifter towards the left. And when I bring it to my midline my mouth face looks crooked. Do you think it’ll get fixed once my entire braces time is up or I’ll have to get surgery?
Same happened with me ... And the fact is no orthodontist answer such questions !! They even avoid discussing the other side or orthodontics idk why which includes its impact on your sutures hence the adjustment of your craniofacial bones ! Discuss it openly with your orthodontist because later like me you might develop TMD In your jaw. Its a serious issue don't take it likely
@@EccentricHuman I did!! She keeps saying it’ll get fixed once the left side teeth move inside but idk I’m so scared. The only reason I even got these stupid braces was because my dentist said it was a max 1 yr treatment and now I’m about to turn 21 with a cross bite 😣
my face went from symmetrical to asymmetrical after my braces i feel like crying, is this permanent or can i do smth abt it 😭😭 i still have my braces on, not yet on the retainer stage
you should absolutely make sure that you tell this to your dentist and make sure that you are absolutely adamant that this is not something that you're happy with, especially since you're still in braces. hopefully this helps!
Hi Doc! I have a square face and getting invisalign on Tuesday. I have an overbite and I am afraid my jaw will be bigger than the way it is now. I hope it won’t be the case coz it was always my insecurity.
Honestly I recommendation would be that you contact a few other dentist to make sure that this isn't an issue and that this is the right treatment solution for you. It's really hard to give you any sort of opinion without seeing you in person, so it's essential that we get multiple treatment opinions from different dentists.
I had braces and cant breath out of my nose. I always had a larger nose, did braces make it larger. I notice when I push my jaw forward everything relaxes and i can breath.
@@aac2289 yes i have had braces, for most people braces will pull back the jaws. Making the jawline weak, cheekbones flat, and chine recessed. The dentist in this video gave good advice about tongue position and chewing hard foods which can influence the growth of your face. I personally have benefited from tongue posture and hard foods so you might too. However, it also depends on your age, the sooner u work on ur tongue posture and chew hard foods the better. You can research orthotropics for more information.
@@aac2289 ok practice mewing while ur in braces so that when u get them off, you'll be able to efficiently mew and improve the position of the maxilla. The lower jaw will follow the upper jaw with proper growth. Chew tough foods to strengthen the jaw muscles so that the jaw will look more defined. This will over a long period of time change your jaws. Be patient as it might take months or even years to notice any changes. I also had an overbite and mewing helped me bring by jaw more forwards
I have gotten invisalign and my bite was a bit lopsided but my face looked perfectly symmetrical and I had fine function. I got my bite fixed and it has completely ruined my face and jaw line and my entire face is lopsided instead of my teeth. I look like I had a stroke and people notice. I regret ever getting invisalign! please no one get it.
Each case is extremely different so it's really hard to say whether or not the same things will happen to others as it did to you. We would highly recommend that you bring these concerns up with your dentist and have an open conversation about the options available to fix these issues. It's always about keeping an open dialogue with the dentist to ensure that you're aware of the limitations and how you think the changes will affect your smile. We also highly recommend that you talkto a few other dentists before getting Invisalign treatment done so that you're fully aware of all the repercussions that are involved and how your smile will change.
Thank you so much for the question Joehid! We really appreciate it. Braces or Invisalign are very effective at uprighting teeth that are angled inwards. In the process, it can make the arch look wider, but the maxilla will effectively be the same. But Palatal Expander appliances can be combined with braces and Invisalign to get a more true expansion of the maxilla. We would really appreciate it if you subscribed to our channel! We are actually considering doing a video on this very topic in the next few weeks!
Dental Now Panorama thank you for the response! Oh right I stopped using my retainers for orthotropic practices. I noticed my face looked less structured when I had them on. If I don’t get the results I want, I’ll probably return back to orthodontics. Yes! I’ll definitely subscribe. Hope you have a good day
you're certainly welcome! glad we could help out. these orthotropic devices really play a significant role in the overall structure of your face, and although you may not notice it while you're wearing them they will gradually help better align your jaw. may I ask if you were wearing braces or did you go through with Invisalign treatment? 😀let us know if you have any other questions or concerns we'd be more than happy to help! thank you so much for the subscribe! we really appreciate it. it means a lot to us.
my question is i have slightly asymmetrical face where right side of cheekbone sticks out bit more than left side. I want my right side to be same as left side which is more smooth looking cheekbones (don't want the cheekbone popping out). I'm considering to get braces to fix the crossbite and have more symmetrical face and smile also make teeth straight. Orthodontist suggested getting expander along with braces. Can you tell me if this is right decision to get my ideal results? im female 23 years old
It's really hard to say because each condition is so different. Some people may be able to fix it, and some may not due to the severity. Many people will however consider getting braces and getting jaw surgery so that they can get the most out of their treatment. This would probably be the most effective solution for many people who have severe facial asymmetry.
@@marietampouikou179 nothing. it just my face is asymmetry and i thought braces would fix them but nope i was wrong 😁👍 and I started to love and accept my asymmetry face !
Honesty I had the same thought getting braces but it’s change my facial feature ALOTTTT! I got my braces off yesterday having having them on for over 2-3 (I had really bad overbite and crooked teeth) and my cheek bones pop out more, my jaw line is straight and corrected trust me it’s worth it
@@proudtuber2114 So you're saying that your jawline and your face actually improved after taking the braces off????? I need an answer because right now I am really worried because I saw some people on Quora saying that braces ruined their face and jawline with photos evidence. And by the way, how old are you? They say it affects kids more because they are growing and I am 16 and I don't know if my jawline/face will continuosly grow.
@@stickyschannel8497 I’m 17 I had braces since October of 2016 so for almost 4 years, I had a really bad over bite really crooked teeth i have photo evidence on how much my jawline has improved my teeth were pushed back so I was forced to kind of rest my tongue on the roof of my mouth which expanded the pallet of the mouth, which is what my orthodontist said is why my jawline became much more visible your skull isn’t completely fused together until 20 so you still have time to improve your overall facial features naturally, it’s always about good posture!!
@@stickyschannel8497 I honestly don’t think think they do all braces do is correct your teeth closing in spaces and make them straight and at the same time your jaw gets corrected as well, however I can see how people who have large spaces or teeth that are missing I can see how braces can make there jaw lines less visible that’s mainly because like I said braces make your teeth straight and close in gaps, if you have missing teeth or large gaps braces will fill them in with your remaining teeth which will make the pallet of your mouth smaller and hence your jaw will get smaller, but honestly talk to your orthodontist don’t be afraid to ask them these questions because they will be able to tell you wether or not braces will positively or negatively effect your facial features, remember that’s their job
My doctor has said that two molars will come out of your lower, only then you will get braces because there is no space in your teeth. , Sir , can't I get braces without removing two molar ? Sir please reply mein , can't I get braces without removing molars ?
Thanks for watching our video. Hopefully we can answer your question. Our recommendation is that you visit a few other dentists and orthodontists around your home town so that you can get a better opinion. You should contact the offices and ask them right away whether or not they are do extractions. It truly depends on each dentist and each individual condition, but it's the best way to ensure you learn as much as you can about your case.
I have braces and my question is,Does talking too much can ruin my face? And should I close my mouth as much as possible?? And what if I don't use pillow while sleeping?
Honestly talking too much truly shouldn't affect your orthodontic condition. You should try to make sure that you breathe through your nose as much as you possibly can and exclude mouth breathing from your repertoire. It's really critical that you work on these things before they continue to cause further damage.
I'm on the 12/19 tray now. I can clearly see that my left face is longer than my right face like wtf I'm very worried tbh. I rather have ugly teeth but not ruining my face...... Does anyone have my situation before while wearing Invisalign? Edit: grammar

Thanks for watching. We wish you luck. Braces are effective at moving teeth, but not very effective in changing the jaw structure. For a jaw structure asymmetry it’s important to address any Myofuntional issues that contributed to the problem. A Myofuntional therapist can help you for that.
Love it!

I feel the same too
Yes I have same problem too after I got my braces treatment done my cheeks got suken
You know, my ortho have told me not to eat hard foods with my braces but I’ve been able to eat nuts and breads and crackers with no problem
The reason why he's saying that is because there may be a concern that you can actually damage the braces and make them come off your teeth, but at the same time it's better for your muscle structure to eat harder foods. This is just one of the many reasons why we prefer to put patients into invisalign instead! Thanks for watching.

Gr Apes are u talking about sunken cheeks like a model? like it looks gaunt?
I hope braces can fix my asymmetry of my jaws because surgery is scary and dangerous.
My teeth are big and i have an overbite and an underbite . Should I have braces... What do you recommend
We're also really appreciate if you could subscribe to our Channel, it would really mean a lot to us! 🙏

Can I still practice proper tongue posture with braces? Will that help improve my face?
I will attach the link so that you can watch it. ruclips.net/video/FIcNLaUnpUU/видео.html
In regards to it improving your face, honestly it really depends on a few external factors such as your age, how long you practice these exercises, and the time duration tha you're expecting the changes. Here is the link ruclips.net/video/U5o9b2RVC2E/видео.html

what do you mean receded?
I really dont want my face to change😭
You should consider looking into some myofunctional therapy as well as orthotropics in conjunction with your orthodontic treatment.
@@DentalNowPanorama thank u
Very good explanation. Don't neglect chewing and nasal breathing!

Hi how's you now?

Thank you!

Same Dr. Mew vibe

We also highly recommend that you talkto a few other dentists before getting Invisalign treatment done so that you're fully aware of all the repercussions that are involved and how your smile will change.
Dr...do braces change my jawline....
we mentioned this in this video!! thanks for watching
How square face is effected by braces??
Is it possible to use braces to purposefully manipulate the maxilla to widen?
@@JAHIDxJD did the Invisalign’s end up helping your maxilla by any chance?
my question is i have slightly asymmetrical face where right side of cheekbone sticks out bit more than left side. I want my right side to be same as left side which is more smooth looking cheekbones (don't want the cheekbone popping out). I'm considering to get braces to fix the crossbite and have more symmetrical face and smile also make teeth straight. Orthodontist suggested getting expander along with braces. Can you tell me if this is right decision to get my ideal results? im female 23 years old
Hi sir! I feel like my ugly teeth really has to do with my asymmetrical face, if I get braces will it be fixed? Thank you!
Same question
i have my braces on for like 1year 3months. and my face still asymmetry. maybe i still have to wait more 😭
It's really hard to say because each condition is so different. Some people may be able to fix it, and some may not due to the severity. Many people will however consider getting braces and getting jaw surgery so that they can get the most out of their treatment. This would probably be the most effective solution for many people who have severe facial asymmetry.
@@fairyluvies8556 what happened?
@@marietampouikou179 nothing. it just my face is asymmetry and i thought braces would fix them but nope i was wrong 😁👍 and I started to love and accept my asymmetry face !
I hate the way my face looked after the braces were removed i stopped smiling big i was depressed
I’m worried I’m going to look bad if my face changes with my braces
@@proudtuber2114 i was worring because what if the braces ruin my face or jawline like I saw other people online say
I put braces on jus to have that “Texas jaw line “ :)
Haha! Glad you got braces. Let us know how it goes.
Keep us updated. I've recently got braces and my face is changing aswell :(
