The third Blade film I only saw once because they tried to take the focus of the movie off of Blade and put it on the side characters. The remake is going to have meet a lot of expectations. This is an incredible film. The characters, choreography and music all create a beautiful world. Seeing this in the cinema as a kid was a fantastic experience.
As you watch, all these questions come into your mind and thankfully all answers are sprinkled neatly into the plot exactly where they should be. Except for what Pearl was.
Although they did introduce zombies in the form of Karen's ex and before throwing her in, Frost briefly explains what zombies actually are in this universe.
An absolute masterpiece of a film...!
Just remember that Blade's serum is red. The EDT explodey vampire stuff is blue...
So when Frost holds it in his hands and mentions the serum, a lot of people believe that's what it is, the serum. But obviously it's not given Frost's explosive demise.
Whistler was a great character and when he dies you can feel Blade's emotions even though he hides them extremely well. Kris Kristopherson put in a very strong performance here.
Karen is a very powerful woman and being a Haematologist, perfect to find cures for blood disorders. I'm sure she created a super-charged serum for Blade after the end of the film.
It's a real shame that she didn't return for the sequel. It would have been interesting to see how her character would have developed further.
Having said all of that though, in my honest opinion, as much as I love this film, I do feel that Blade 2 was bigger & better in so many ways.
    Anyway, cool video, thanks...! 👍🏻

The first real kick-a** vampire action thriller and Marvel's first-ever character with a box office smash.
Jumping off Marvel's golden age on film (1998-2007) with the second Rated-R movie with a Marvel character and from it's supernatural/horror realm.
Blade debuted 50 years ago in The Tomb of Dracula comics as one of Drac's many foes.
Inspired by 1970s blaxploitation films (namely Shaft & Blacula).
This trilogy of the character was written by David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight Trilogy, Man of Steel, BvS:Dawn of Justice).
Prior to being casted as Blade, Wesley Snipes as actor & producer was involved with developing Black Panther.
At the time, the film rights of BP were with Sony.
Snipes didn't know Blade & Black Panther were both from Marvel.
    History made for sure.
It paved the way for more success of Marvel characters on film.
Nuff respect due to the success in the arrival of The Daywalker.

Hotties, Blade is a Dhampir (Dam'pir), that is the result of a pregnancy between a vampire and a human. This union was usually between male vampires and female humans, with stories of female vampires mating with male humans being rare.
Blade is also something else, a Day-Walker, the rarest of the rare of all the vampire strains. Though he still ages like a regular human he also gets stronger as he goes along. Should he drink human blood, it supercharges him! He exceeds even full vampiric strength, speed, agility and senses.
In the comics, people have volunteered like the good Doctor to let Blade feed on them. Surprisingly, instead of this turning them into a vampire, it has on occasion cured them of vampirism, it also unites them with Blade's cause. It's like the vampiric enslavement but voluntary.
I would love to see Blade fight Selene!

As far as 2 goes, the new parasitic vampires in that one were created by the same guy who later expanded on that idea and created the strain novels and tv series, which is a pretty different take on vampires being parasites that spread via parasitic worms injected via a 6 foot long tongue-stinger kind of organ. It might be worth looking into watching on the channel as well

In comics blade is much more powerful. First Frost bit his mother and blade aka Eric Brooks became a half breed with all vampire strength and none of their weakness except for thirst. But then a genetically engineered vampire Michael Morbius bit him and Blade became much more powerful with the thirst gone too...
This Blade movie's success saved Marvel and paved way for the Marvel movie universe...Wesley Snipes as Blade is irreplaceable...He is to Blade as what Hugh Jackman is to Wolverine

"The Matrix" ripped off 2 movies, they being "Blade" and "Dark City". Blade and Dark City were released by New Line Cinema in 1998. Warner Brothers owns New Line Cinema. They saw Blade and Dark City, and stole various elements from both films in order to create The Matrix. The Matrix was released in 1999.
Here's the irony. The filmmakers behind The Matrix, The Wachowski Brothers (who are now sisters), got their story from Dark City. Due to the creator of Dark City having not done a sequel, the Wachowskis had no one to copy - hence the disastrous Matrix sequels.
Later...after the Wachowskis began partying too much...Warner Brothers turned to Christopher Nolan...for the purpose of ripping off both Dark City and the Matrix, with an added plagiarism from the film "Dreamscape"...called "Inception".
You will love Dark City. You should also watch the Wachowski produced "V for Vendetta"...and their directorial debut "Bound".

The first R Rated Marvel movie I saw with my friend on DVD.
A lot of actors were considered for the role Blade, Denzel Washington, LL Cool J, Michael Jai White, and Laurence Fishburne, until Wesley Snipes was cast after his version of BLACK PANTHER was cancelled.
An alternative ending was filmed but cut from the movie, where Morbius was going to be the villain in the sequel, yet thankfully this never happened.

oh yeah. Disney will flip most of the characters female and black for no other reason than they think the immutable aspects your identity are the most important, not least important part of one's character.
