Brian was prepared and did whatever it took to get his daughter back and that is what I love about this film. What a stupid cretin I was. Two years later, I went to visit my dad in Florida, USA, and I saw it on his big tv in his home office and I could have kicked myself. Turned out to be one of the best thrillers I had seen in years. I ordered it on US blu ray as soon as I got home. Still have it. An amazing thriller. Sadly, also, this really does go on even now and it's sickening to know that. But he was able to save his daughter, that was the point. Like you said, one of the greatest fathers ever, despite not being there much to begin with. He more than made up for that. We don't always get great fathers.

If only it could be true for more young women, second to drugs, human trafficking is the 2nd biggest grossing illegal business on the planet. It touches and destroys so many lives, directly and indirectly, and too too many of our young sisters, mothers and daughters fall prey to predators. Growing up, my family watched a lot of movies, so as my parents started putting it on more, it became nothing more than another random action movie to me. It was just a dad beating up some guys to get his baby back. The REASON why he needed to get her back, what was happening to those girls, what happened to the daughter's FRIEND- it didn't affect me in the slightest.

I absolutely loved your reaction!! This is my favorite movie. Just… a father who does ANYTHING for his child hits me right in the feels.
A little comment though. Cut some slack on Leonor (Bryan’s ex wife), you can’t blame her for not “worrying” too much. Bryan was the one who during his work experienced and saw the darkest side of the world, not her, considering he neglected Kim and her for years. That’s why Bryan left his job. People who hadn’t seen that kind of stuff always thinks or try not to think that will happen to them (a clear example is the pop artist character, she was all sarcastic and even not caring about her guards UNTIL something dangerous happened). It’s the same with Kim and Leonor. It’s like an explanation to her behavior before everything happens.
I say this because I used to dislike her character, saying the same stuff as you, like she doesn’t know shit or “oh NOW you care about your daughter’s safety?” But c’mon, it’s the typical she just didn’t know until it was too late
I fell in love with Liam’s parental character,” after this movie, it’s deep and pretty dark, the best combinations really. The kidnapping scene, the first time I watched it, was so heartbreaking, seeing Bryan’s face trying to keep it together but deep down he’s dying inside.
