I've only been doing archery hunring for 2 or 3 years now and I've learned more on form and draw lenght from this one video alone. Than I have in the past 2-3 years. I appreciate the video!
THAT! Seriously, I learned more from that 12 minute video than probably anything else related to archery I can think of. When JJ said push the hand against the bow without being locked out at the elbow/wrist etc. it clicked. I ran to my bow and sure enough, my draw length is too long. Been shooting it wrong awhile. I Hate not being accurate! Long story and I wont be boring, but I used to shoot some on a pistol team. Thanks again Elk Shape and all involved. :)
Definitely solved my problem, when I went half inch short, couldn't work out for the life of me why the massive drop, as I have the cable driven rest, killed my life, massive thanks to u boys and MFJJ 🤙.
THAT was hugely beneficial. This laid out a lot of physiology and ergonomic reference points AND provided some DIY techniques. Thank you for posting this.
This video couldn't have come at a better time figuring out my wife's draw length ...bow shop we went to WAS the only one in town they sucked out of business now...so wondering if her draw was wrong looked short by about an inch so we're working on that today before getting her new bow thank you guys so much for this information it's helped a shit load
Okay, so I looked at this and though about checking out a recent clip I posted on instagram of me shooting, and I was leaning WAY back. So I took the advice in this video and shortened my draw length up a half inch on my Hoyt Helix and BOOM, squared right up, no more hyperextension in my left elbow, and I didn't have to adjust my rest, I'll shoot this afternoon and see if I'm steadier during full draw, thanks a TON!
Wowwwww. Was talking with a buddy about this the other day. Thought my draw length might have been a hair short. Love the knowledge dropped in these videos by the goat. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this video! my draw seemed fine, always felt comfortable with it but I shoot a Stan Perfex resistance and felt something was off because I had to adjust the resistance really low to get the extension to get it to go off and thought I may be a bit long but after watching and listening to MFJJ work with Tim I realized I had my bow arm elbow the same direction, I went down my basement, made the adjustment and holy shit!!! I's amazing what a small form adjustment did, I could hear angels singing as the shots broke
These videos are great been learning a ton love to see people passionate about bow hunting seems the crossbow has taken over around me no pride in the harvest of animals anymore.
Man, this is one of the best videos I've seen on RUclips for archery. Makes so much sense. I'm new to this sport and found your video quite helpful. Thanks!
If you're new there's a good chance you haven't heard about Ranch Fairy/The Ashby Foundation and their opinions on how you should build arrows (higher FOC). You might find their content interesting. If this interests you just look up Ranch Fairy on youtube.
Thanks for doing this one guys! I asked this some time ago and glad to see the MFJJ explanation! Very helpful! I believe this explains some stability issues I have ran into in the past. Definitely confirms my findings when I made adjustments to my wrist rocket. Thanks again!
Bought a bow from a Matthews shop, guy says it fits great (Im pretty new to archery). Got measured yesterday at a bow shop at 34 inches! the first shop sold me a Traverse set to 31.5.......
This helped me understand how to adjust easier from my old bow to my new one. It's only 13 years between bows...lol Technology has definitely advanced in bow's hope to learn more from you guys !! Thanks.
9:39 Tim is looking really pissed while MFLJJ(L for legend) is all excited dropping gems!🤣 prolly thinking ”have I been shooting wrong all this time -_-” I feel u brother. Just realized my draw is too long 😑🔫 N modules are hard to come by where I live.
so much there! This was really informative. Going to get my wife to watch this video a few times and then watch me. I feel like my draw length is too short, but i'm wondering if MFJJ would disagree. On my bucket list.
Where can I find 32.5 inch arrows? I'm 6'3" with long arms. Used to use aluminum Game getters but haven't found for years now, nor any arrows that length anymore. :(
Knowledge bombs!!! This shouldn’t be free, but I’m thankful it is. Great work and I love the new outro... might not be new, but the first time I noticed... either way it’s good!
Great info glad I watched. But I have the opposite problem. My 30" bow I bought when younger and dumber is way to short. When I was young I could power through it. I can't no more. Want to start shooting a bow again but can't get anyone to believe me at the stores. And no one caries anything with a longer draw to even shoot to figure out my actual draw length.
Here I’ve been thinking my draw is a bit short because I’m not overly tall but i have long arms. After watching this i think its probly pretty bang on.
So you spoke extensively on someone with a longer draw length and over extended bow are. What are the chances you go over some of the other draw length issues. Bow arm good but release hand possibly short?
You CAN stand straight up. Not sure what that comment was about saying you can’t, and you will always have some lean. Turning the elbow out first would have been logical as well. The analogies are odd, but the end result is the same. He is punching the release, then trying to add follow through. You CAN learn this on your own, and you don’t need an expert to figure it out for you. When you change D/L you should always check your tune. You have just changed how much force the arrow will need to deal with. Spine might be slightly off. If you are doing this, try to aim at something that keeps tge arrow level. Lastly, don’t draw a bow without an arrow….
Mathews should make a bow ,,, just like the v3x 33 with the lower poundege ,,, 45 -55,,, ,,, why did they shorten up the Image ,, ATA ,,, or are they waiting tell next year to do it ?? A perfect bow would be a v3x 34 with an " 34 ATA" ,, and a draw # of 45-55 ,,,, I would buy one tomorrow ,,,
Making videos today... any interest in a VXR, V3 Shootoff? Did this video help at all?
The video helped a lot and yes shoot off!!
A shoot off video would be sweet!
Ok! Do it. Twist my arm...is it worth nickeling up for the New New?
Been shooting since I was 11 and never heard it explained like this great info thanks for the video
@@brockpeck7073 we like a shoot off 🤘
I can listen to MFJJ talk for hours!!!! I love the knowledge he shares!!!!!

Thank you guys for all the tips to become a better archer A LOT of bow shops don’t take the time to show and tell you this

This is an absolutely phenomenal video. Dude is a wealth of knowledge.

I love it. You did a very good job for the length that you have gone to make this so clear you can’t go wrong. You’re the man.😊

Wow, amazing explanation. The best on RUclips!!! Thanks alot
GREAT info! Always fun watching someone who knows their craft and loves sharing it
Man the things I've learned since I started watching your videos! Great stuff please keep them coming
Thanks, will do!
Time to head to the bow shop. Thank you for sharing. Years ago setup wrong and been adapting to make 29 work when should have been 28.25-28.5.
Okay, so I looked at this and though about checking out a recent clip I posted on instagram of me shooting, and I was leaning WAY back. Awesome to hear that!
Awesome advice think I need to readjust myself...
As a life long martial artist I Love the technical info and subtle technique's. To me the best way to explain it is physics.... Thanks.

You can also cut off another half an in from the arrow as well to help a bit account for the speed loss due to loss of draw
Love all the info that MFJJ gives thank you guys for all the great content

Glad it was helpful!
That bicep/forearm alignment tip is gold ty
Great info here! I see this in the shop all the time and in shoots when we had shoots! I am always into a good shoot off!
Bought a bow from a Matthews shop, guy says it fits great (Im pretty new to archery). Got measured yesterday at a bow shop at 34 inches! the first shop sold me a Traverse set to 31.5.......
This was helpful. I kinda thought my draw was a bit long, and after watching this I believe it is. Going to check later when i shoot with my brothers

You should!
That is so cool. When i used to shoot archery i just wnt and bought a bow, and went shooting.
Thank you for this video. Getting back into archery after many years. Re learning everything again. This helped.
MFJJ is badass!!! Learned alot
Very informative!! Thank you. I Just realized mine was an inch too long because of this video.
So much knowledge bombs. Im going to setup a camera right now to see if I am over pulling or under. Thanks for the video.

Oh man, thank you for posting this video.
Give FMJJ Time Man of the Year. Another video with his insight that is just amazing.
Thank you
Good stuff, pretty sure I'm on the too short end, but I'm going to do some video and check it out, thanks
Great video as always boys. Just caught myself with a similar issue but with my draw length a bit to short.

Dude, RUclips unsubbed me from your channel. Who did you piss off? Lol resubbed man. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for making this video it has helped me a lot
Glad to hear it!
bought a v3x 29... at my normal draw length of 28 my nose won't touch string... anything I can do to remedy this?

Great video! You nailed it.

well your right people seem to fight with there bows . Fit is everything
MFJJ is the man!!!
the knowledge bombs in some of these videos .. how much do I owe you?
I need some help with my draw length, everything I look at I can tell something is wrong but shops in my area says it's fine
MFJJ is the man
He’s a goodn!
I know you shoot a multi pin but could you do a video on how to sight in a single pin if you’ve ever shot a single pin
The bow need's to be put into compress configuration when taking a T handle thumb type release. i like my D-Loop Short ;)
Great!
where can i get help setting my bow up like this one on one near me
What’s the name of the song at the beginning of the video for the intro?!
Good stuff!
Thanks for the visit l video. I'm new to the channel. What does MFJJ stand for? Thanks
So you spoke extensively on someone with a longer draw length and over extended bow are. What are the chances you go over some of the other draw length issues. Bow arm good but release hand possibly short?
Great videos do you have a archery shop and contact info?
That guy is an expert
Would MFJJ want to look at a beginning archer and see if my draw is a little to long and how my form is?
Every bow shop should have one MFJJ on stock. Or two, just in case. 😁
Maybe I missed it what draw length were you shooting before you took a half inch off
30 to 29.5
What would be amazing is if bows were adjustable in quarter inch increments.
This video earned you a new subscriber
Well shit. Was definitely doing that wrong lol. Thanks guys!
What are your thoughts on if your draw length might be to short?
is that a tripod leg as his stabilizer??
Man, I wish SVA wasn’t 4 hours away from me. Might be worth some road trips. The archery shops in my area are crap.
Excellent info
GREAT video!
I'm trying to find the intro song but no luck, could you point me in theright direction please?
Great content guys 👍🏻
Convinced Mfjj is a wizard
How can you tell if your draw is too short?
Great video man. 👊
Great value Bradley Cooper
No matter what I set my draw length at I always lean back it’s
Just natural and comfortable for
Me
Weak core
@@bronsonormes157 my core is far from weak bud
I actually find it quite comfortable leaning back
