Oh boy your video's are realy great. I am 58 and have been living here all my life, but you show me places I didn't know about. Thank's to you I had a lovely romantic weekend in a nice B&B near Zwolle to see the ice sculpture festival and travel around there on our bikes. The canal tour in 's-Hertogenbosch is next on our list. We never did that and it is so close to our hometown! And we realy have to look fore a B&B in Leiden. The museum and the Hortus, I have to see that for myself. So keep it up you two. Keep those video's (and those trip ideas) comming. Love u guys
Hi, Great videos, thank you! We live in Rijnsburg, near Leiden. We also love Leiden and visit the Saturday market regularly as well. It's such a beautiful city and with nice sunny weather, it's just gorgeous. Hope you're doing well. Greetz.
As a fellow American who immigrated to NL over twenty years ago, I found great enjoyment watching you guys exploring the land I've come to love so much. Leiden is one of my favorite places and since I live just 10km away I visit it a lot too! The antiquities museum is great! Do you guys have a Museumkaart yet? It's a very inexpensive subscription service to most museums in the country including all the ones in Leiden that I know of and is super handy for exploring! Looking forward to future videos
That was John Robinson, and tourists can do a pilgrim walk which was done by his flock before they embarked to America, their initial planning having been prolonged. Sadly, their leader, Pastor Robinson, was ill when their ship finally sailed to the New World...and he was sadly left behind. And I didn't know you live in Leiden. For some reason I was thinking that you guys live in Delft. No matter. I wrote a four-part mystery series based on a young Leiden professor, Felly van Vliet. If interested, the series begins with 'Murder On the Rocks!' whn Felly rents a houseboat for the summer while involved in a teaching seminar in Youghal, Ireland. 'The Poisoned Tree', third in the series, is when she's back in Leiden...as well as the latest, 'Betrayal of Bosch', which takes place both in Leiden and Den Bosch. Cheers
There is also a church which was founded by the Pilgrim Fathers in Delfshaven in Rotterdam. It’s from there that they left the Netherlands on the ship Speedwell, to travel to Plymouth where they boarded the Mayflower.
Leiden - during the Roman Empire period it was called Lugdunum Batavorum - has indeed a lot of museums to pay a visit to. Added up the entrance fees to all these museums can be very expensive. You can avoid that by buying a museum jaarkaart for which you have to pay a yearly fee of €64,90 for an adult and gives you unlimited acces to over more than 400 museums all over the Netherlands. The Hortus Botanicus is also museum. A lot of people use the HB as a garden or city park to relax.
We’ve already filmed our video for this coming Sunday, but we’ll definitely put that on our list. Looks super fun! Thank you so much for your suggestion.
I have always been told that the Marekerk was the church for the Pilgrimfathers. Did the program not mention it? Eventually they sailed from Delfshaven which is now part of Rotterdam. Miss Tabasco.
Before the American Empire there was the Roman Empire they too where everywhere so it's not that strange to find Roman relics here in the Netherlands. Also i have a question have you guys heard anything from Soul to Soul travels Eric and Tammy are they allright they have not uploaded a new video? Other than that a great video keep up the great work👍 En nog een prettige dag toegewenst😊
Soul to soul Travels zijn op vakantie naar Amerika voor een wat langere tijd. Eric heeft een kleinzoon gekregen. Ze blijven gedurende die tijd offline. Dus vandaar. Prettige avond
You guys, very nice video. The footage of your camera though leaves to be desired. The picture often is non-sharp and the camera provides us with jerky images, especially when your filming from bottom to top. You guys should go to de Burcht in down town Leiden and go up de Burcht to see the city. Just behind the markt area... you'll find it ;-)
Great video. Indeed human planning is better than AI planning. You know yourself better than AI can. And AI doesn’t plan costs, food, drinks and toilet breaks. Follow your heart, not a computer program. We are better than AI. ❤❤❤
If you are specific in your questions it will suggest that as well, quite impressive to be honest. I asked the same question and after that I asked what is the fastest way to see them all in one day. It said go to the museum first when it opens at 10am, then take a 10 minute walk to the Hortus Botanicus, then a 15min walk to the center to walk around the canals, take a lunch there around mid-day, boat tour after that (said this instead of the church), and then a 10 minute walk to the market. It also says to keep in mind to take breaks and enjoy the experience without feeling rushed.
uh, Why the name leiden ? I'm french, i learned german, and ... why would you call a place to live leiden ? ( i mean historically). It tickled me when you started the video almost saying how to enjoy leiden ( big pun intended on that one ) .
fun fact: the translation for to suffer is lijden. Exact same pronunciation as Leiden to keep it confusing. Just different spelling. I always use the following mnemonic to remember which is which: pijn (pain) = lijden (suffering)
@@TAndTGoDutch , @lysannedrop3092 ah HAH ! thanks !! to lead in german is führen, and leiten too ( leiten more like to lead/be the first, führen more like to lead/manage ). This what tickled me in your answer( leiden/leiten). Now, looking at wikipedia Leiden came from Leithon, which is a derivate of old german leitha ( at the canals ) . That would make sense for a dutch town. But that's a really confusing etymology for a town ( leitha,leiden,leiten,lijden)...
Hey guys, there's a scam-bot active in your comments. Pretending to be you. Be aware! It's asking your fans to message them on telegram, with a very similar name, and your profile picture. So they can scam them! :/

Great video, Tracey and Travis! We can’t wait to see what you show us all next week!!❤
Nice sharing friend 👍

Oh yes, museumkaart is a must! Ours is incredibly well-loved. ❤️

Yes, Leiden is very nice, the Saturday market is so good!👍

And the volksmusem - really interesting
Nice 🙂
Perhaps visiting Corpus in Oegstgeest is an idea for the next video?

It’ll be in next weeks video. Thanks!
How fantastic to see a ginger couple.
Do you already have mini gingers?😄👍🏻
We don’t! We do however, have a mini husky named Tabasco!
@@TAndTGoDutch That's also fantastic 👍🏻
AI should have advised a boattour on the canals of Leiden 😊
Funny I just asked the exact same question and it advised the boattour instead of the church, all other 4 options stayed the same.

There a few nice museums in Leiden and the Hortus.
It didn't take me long (3:07) to figure out why ChatGPT took you right to the eGyPT display 😂
Lol! 😂😂😂
Goeswijn a verry Nice place to be ❤
I live in leiden
What? No mention of Rembrandt or the Burcht or even molen De Valk? ChatGPT is missing a few things.
Nope, but we’ll be covering those in part two, next week!
The school athena is pretty close

Ha. Different translations. In German, the translation is “suffer.” In Dutch, the translation is “to lead.”
