I'm amazed there aren't more options in this category other than this sub. I thought by now many companies understand people might be okay with their soundbars or computer speakers and want to add the umph of a real subwoofer to it. Since most computer sub/sats don't allow the option to change out the sats you would think some company would have came out with a relatively low cost "gizmo" (around $25 would be feasible similar to the cost of an hdmi switch due to similar level of cable connections) that would allow the signal to be split where one goes to the standard setup but add a volume/crossover adjustable subwoofer pre-out. If I had the marketing and skills involved I would try to develop, market, and sell such a device on amazon this way people can build up their entertainment in steps instead of having to replace the entire setup on each upgrade. In one of my rooms I'd like to add a sub but would like to add something larger that hits deeper than this Bestisan but don't want to have to buy a replacement setup, pre-amp, or AVR to do it.

I totally agree with your assessment about the performance. Your bookshelf speakers can certainly stand alone in my opinion. I have my sw65d sub paired with a Bestisan 100 watt sound bar (with built in subs). The sw65d sub definitely adds richness to the sound. I’m still experimenting with the volume and filter settings for best performance though. I will also try the sound bar alone and see if the difference is noticeable. Great video and thanks for sharing.

I've got bose speakers hooked up to my PC./I-tune music. They give off pretty good mid. Clarity could be better. But I think it's the files that the music is on. Nevertheless, I need a sub woofer bad! I think this is it. Sure don't wanna break the bank as my man cave is small. But I need that theatre sound. I think this will help. Good lookin' out JJ!

Hey man thanks for the review. One question - does the power brick require 110v or 110v - 240v (universal)? Thank you in advance

Honestly, I don't see (and hear) why I should throw any money at it. It didn't add anything to your speakers, so since I have a relatively good pair of speakers that's a big no from me.

Yes. The subwoofer on the screen is adding NOTHING to my earbuds. 😢

A small tip: if you put that sub in the corner of your room, it will perform a lot better and it will hit lower.
    Thanks for the great review.

Does this act as real low pass filter? Does it cut off the bass from the main speakers??

Me? Personally not a fan of crossover tuning really. The first car audio setup I had in a 95 chevy pickup back in 2013 the crossover was set as far to the bottom as it could get. The gain was 3/4, the lows were soo nasty my passengers would get out with knee caps shaking like they had diabetes. 😂😂😂 I'm a fan of lows for bass and not 250hz. That to me sounds like mids rather than any bass coming out of a ported box. Specially when you listen to gorilla zoe music, or movies with a lot of action and explosions. 250Hz does not sound or feel good on action movies with explosions in the audio trust me.

Great review, well explained. Thanks for the video. I have a bedside setup with small PC speakers and I'm looking for a compact sub-woofer solution that won't break the bank.

Can the subwoofer be connected to the TV only, just sub box to tv.

It depends on the TV and it's connectivity option. Some TV's lack any kind of audio out option (my sister's LG TV is this way, a very stupid design) but most TVs have either a mini-jack/aux (some call this a headphone port) or rca audio out connection. If your TV supports both it's internal speakers playing simultaneous with it's optical out then you have this option as well.

how does the bluetooth work on the sub? I thought you can only connect to one device over bluetooth at a time

    • @MrWirelesscaller

I got a feeling that you set everything to connect to sub (it becomes the audio hub), then from the sub you pick the source (optical/bluetooth/audio in), and then audio out to speakers/soundbar/monitors. I bet you pair the bluetooth to the sub and then from the sub's rca audio outs you wire it to the other speaker's/soundbar's/monitor's rca audio inputs (might need to get a rca/mini-jack adapter for the other speakers/soundbar since some soundbars most monitors should have rca inputs).
