Kimi Raikkonen at almost 40 still teaching some kids how to drive an F1. Amazing! Now probably really free to enjoy speed without pressure or politics
Leclerc qualified the (Alfa Romeo) Sauber 18th in Melbourne last year and was 3,472 sec off pole. Leclerc finished 13th.
Raikkonen qualified the Alfa Romeo (Sauber) 9th in Melbourne this year and was 1,828 sec of pole. Raikkonen finished 8th.
We all remember how much the Sauber improved last year... I can only imagine how much Kimi Raikkonen can improve it as the season progresses - especially since he is valued as a great car developer with his mature and exact feedback. Besides, Alfa Romeo had to pit Raikkonen too early in the Melbourne race because a tear off from his visor had jammed itself on the brake making it overheat. Had this not happened I'll say Kimi would have been 6th today.
Kimi Raikkonen will finish on the podium 2-3 times in 2019. Mark my words. Oh, and 1-2 fastest laps as well.

However I saw people predicting Alfa Romeo finishing 5th in the constructors. I think Kimi can get them a long way but not that far, Giovinazzi is showing that he doesn't have the pace imo. In an ideal world you would see him and Russel swap seats but thats 99.99% not happening.

Ricciardo is SO MUCH better off being at Renault...who POWERS CHAMPIONSHIPS...then in ANY car powered by Honda. Don't believe me...talk to Alonso & Villeneuve and EVERY other driver using Honda power since 1992.

Jos VES He was pretty good this weekend apart from the race. He was matching Verstappen during practice, but then he got kinda unlucky by a strategic mistake by RB in Quali. In the race he was bad though, but I believe he can bring good results for Red Bull.

Leclerc knew what he was getting in to signing with ferrari. Plus he even said in the press conference that there should always be #1 & 2 driver... means he’s already accepted he’ll be a #2 driver helping vettel.

GURken Charles was clearly slower than Seb today, he did many mistakes and was already about 15 seconds down on Seb. Only strategy helped him closing down the gap. It would have been very unfair of Ferrari letting Charles overtake Seb who had big problems with his tyres, while Seb drove the better race than Charles

The fact that Red Bull might be able to beat Ferrari this year is pretty exciting to me. But at the same time it really pisses me off that Gasly finished outside the points.
Completely not his fault though. First off, Gasly starting p17 is due to team strategy underestimating the midfield. Second, Albert Park is notoriously hard to overtake at. Thirdly, seeing how he parked the car in the wall two times during wintertests, the last thing he'd want is to crash and dnf. Fourth, considering the man he was stuck behind the entire race (his lingering frustration with RBR and his history of accidents), I really can't blame Gasly for being too conservative with his overtaking attempts. He probably should've pitted earlier when he had a positive gap to Kvyat, but that again is not on the driver.
But definitely agree that when you have Max getting an upset podium, you have Gasly not scoring any points at all - and looking like a dud. I'd almost rather have seen Gasly doing some quality overtakes and dnf because of Stroll fck-up, then this because of the entertainment factor.
Locormus2 The people complaining about Gasly doing bad are the same that complained about Verstappen crashing to much. They’ll shut up when Gasly gets a podium or something
@@Locormus2 Sorry, but there's no excuse when he's driving on fresh softs and can't overtake Kvyat on hard tyres. Verstappen cleared Vettel easily when both were on medium tyres.
smashingwarden Kyvat has DRS from the train ahead and Gasly would’ve been getting dirty air from an extra car in the train. Nobody was getting past.

He had fresher and softer tiers than kvyat, overall better car and couldnt pass him, meanwhile max overtook vettel like it was nothing and prob would also get hamilton if he wouldnt make a mistake in last laps
