      @Droneboy-72 The point is that I zoomed in to an extreme amount on the bookshelf and the text on the book was still perfectly clear. Both the Neo and original X1 are a blurry mess when cropping in that much.

I have settled on mainly insta360 cameras (Ace Pro, Go 3S, & X4) as my go to recording devices, the exception being DJI drones for aerial shots and wireless microphones. Please continue your tech reviews.

    BEACON & X1 PRO / PROMAX PAIRING TIPS.
    (1) Please keep the beacon and X1 PRO / PROMAX at least 1 meter (-3 feet) away from each other when pairing to reduce signal overload. This will be optimised in future releases.
    (2) Please to ensure that you complete the QTA upgrade before using the device for the first time.
    (3) If upgrade process is not performed correctly, you can access the settings page by sliding down and selecting the update.
    (4) If you have a joystick, please connect it before QTA updates so it can receive any necessary updates.
    I read all these on indiegogo updates, as I am preparing myself to receive the same product too.
    Hopefully, it will work.
    Cheers.

    I got my shipping notification a few days ago to say my Hover X1 Pro and Beacon is on its way. I won’t need my one year old original Hover x1 so sold it on eBay last week and got more than the new cost of a DJI Neo. The Neo is too slow (as was the original X1) for my needs with gravel cycling and MTB adventures. Plus the Neo doesn’t fold away and the Hover Beacon looks like a more flexible solution to controlled flight when you don’t want the autonomous mode. X1 was fun but the X1 Pro is going to be way better !

    Just curious, were you also sent the Neo from DJI(at no cost)? You mentioned at the beginning of this video that you were given the Pro Max to review(at no cost). You did not say the same thing in your Neo review. That's an important clarification that needs to be made. We need to make sure there are absolutely no variables involved between the two that could cause some bias.

    • @Roos-Reviews
      @Roos-Reviews  7 дней назад +4

      No, I purchased the Neo. I am always completely honest in my reviews. But in my opinion, when the pain of spending hundreds of dollars is removed from the review process, it is impossible to be completely free of at least some kind of bias. For example, if something is not as advertised, such as the Neo, it would generally be more annoying for someone to discover that to be the case, given that they have spent their own money on it. If it sucks, but it is free, the monetary spend is removed, but there's still the cost of all the work and time involved in making the video. I think there has to be some element of bias in there somewhere, even if I think that there isn't.
      But in my opinion, the job of a tech reviewer is to test the tech and be honest in the findings, to let the prospective purchaser know the facts and some fairly well researched opinions and also to encourage and help promote products that deserve it because they are actually good. I want good products and good companies to do well, and I want bad products and deceptive companies to be better and try harder.
      I got the X1 Pro Max for free, but I think I am the only reviewer who got a free unit that has pointed out the problem with the beacon and 8K being missing from the follow modes.
      I just cannot go down the path that many RUclipsrs take in order to find success and that is to say that everything is "awesome", opt not to mention the flaws and to please the manufacturers in order to get early and free access to products.
      If you ever see me acting excited and raving about a product, it is completely sincere whether I bought it, was sent it or borrowed it.
      But being someone who actively looks for and then points out flaws and debunks claims in products that I review doesn't exactly help my career aspirations. And I have to deal with quite a lot of abuse in the comment section from people who are personally offended that I said something negative about their favorite product or brand. Every morning I wake up to a new set of insults from brand tribalists and people who hate my reviewing style, my opinions or my voice.

    • @Kenshirokan

      @@Roos-Reviews appreciate the thorough explanation. Totally understood. I just wanted to make sure I understood the complete context behind how you obtained both. For what it's worth, I own and support both DJI and Hover products so I don't swing either way as far as support goes but in my honest opinion, what rubs me the wrong way about the Hover products is that they are way too overpriced, even with the early discount it was still too much. It's unfortunate that you have to deal with trolls on either side of the fence but that's something that's pretty much unavoidable. Thanks for the response!

    Surprised (and relieved) to see there are apparently no speed limitations in Dolly mode as the back sensor is limited to 1.5m/s on the X1P and 3m/s on the X1PM, did you deactivate it manually ?
    How was Sidetracking ?
    I like the Neo better than the original X1 but "Direction Track" is useless unless you're just walking.

    • @Roos-Reviews
      @Roos-Reviews  7 дней назад

      I didn't deactivate anything. I just set it to dolly track and off I went. I'm not sure if it has a lower speed limit when flying backwards compared to flying forwards., but I know it can do at least 32 kph as that is the max speed of my scooter.
