Thanks for the thorough explanation of the controls in manual mode. Previously, I had only used the auto filters. One question I have is how do you pull up the settings within manual mode? After your flight is complete, how do you exit out of the manual mode display? I could not find an exit or back out function
You are very welcome. Thanks for watching! There isn’t a need to exit per se as you can select your mode in the app or from the device before flight. I personally check my settings on the app and choose manual before starting the app.

Surprised to see how stable the footage is. If you are doing more videos, it would be great to see this stabilization tested in manual mode with some quicker directional and rotational adjustments.
Thanks, and that is a good idea! For what it’s worth, I could not control the speeds in these videos thus far, since I do not have the beacon and joystick yet to isolate those speeds with the camera settings in the preview portion of the screen.

I have the X1 Pro. Coming from the X1, there are definitely firm/software issues that should be fixed in coming updates.

@@showingaustin In no particular order: basic capabilities that the X1 has like snapshot mode and HDR photos, occasionally it forgets it has a micro SD card, the voice s-stutters occasionally when switching flight modes, occasional it will lose track of me while just hovering and..just hover, the video quality seem to be on par with the og X1, smart gesture control doesn't work although the app lists it as an option, the X1 has in app gimbal calibration - maybe the Pro/Max doesn't require it.
The flight time, tracking, data xfer, and general build quality is better.
I just wish they designed it with a built in gimbal lock or something to keeps it from getting bumped or pushed too hard in one direction when not in use.
I don't remember if Hoverair started the whole foldy pocketability, but putting it in my pocket only makes me scared for the gimbal. That seems like an unnecessary weak point.
@@BackwardTravisty thanks for the specifics! It helps us all. I have two recurring issues myself: 1) the video button does not always start recording a video whereas I have to restart the app and drone and 2) the app lost a connection w the drone when it got an estimated 80-100 feet high (since the app doesn’t show the height) as the app just spun in the monitor and the video itself froze while that was occurring.
@@showingaustin Wow. What did the drone do when the app crashed?
@@BackwardTravisty Fortunately, it still stayed in the air until I closed the app, relaunched it and then was able to Return To Home. I specifically and responsibly fly in wide open areas in case it comes down uncontrollably.
Thanks for the fantastic video, I’ve only just got my promax but I can’t seem to work. I had to actually started it like with the Dji drones. You put the two sticks down and into the middle but I can’t work out how to start the promax, such a lack of documentation and information about it, how do you actually start it?

cool video thanks~ Something that i do not like about the Neo is that when you use manual controls on your phone it looks just so slow. What has your experience been using your phone in manual mode with the HoverAir ProMax?
Thank YOU! I also found the Neo controls to be extremely difficult to see, even in shade, and showed that in my Neo video. As for manual controls on the phone, they are definitely very responsive and I have gotten so comfortable with them that I canceled my order for the expensive Beacon and Joysticks - since it had already taken over month to get them - not to mention there have been reported issues with them and the software.

Great video demo! I'm still having a hard time getting to use mine, especially with the beacon ( no joysticks). Do you know if there is a way to change flight modes, during the flight? i.e. if i'm in follow mode and then want it to start orbiting.

@showingaustin well I got it for cycling/mountain biking and with my previous drone (skydio2) I am able to do that. It's nice to be riding and then if you come across a nice landscape you also want to capture, you can just change it from lets say "follow me" to "side track" or have it zoom out .

How smooth is the flying on this drone? I'd like to use it for real estate tours inside so would like to do smooth panning movements and such.
Very smooth! I used the X1 and have many sample videos with it, and just started to use the PROMAX for real estate video - please check back for many more samples with it!
Could you tell me what is maximum flight hight it can fly in manual mode and bird eye mode? The x1 version had limit of 15 meters! Furthermore, in manual mode how far it can fly? Looking forward for your reply .Thanks
Hi ZZR says 120 m but the app doesn’t show the height. Don’t confuse this with the transmission distance of 500m w the app and 1km w the beacon and joystick.
Still waiting for my ProMax Cycling kit to ship by the end of the month...
Are Shutter speed, EV and ISO controls are available in the Auto modes ( track, dolly etc) or only in Manual mode ?
I’ll check for you next time I take it out. Truth is that I have only used manual mode this far on the PROMAX.
Hi again YES you can adjust exposure in Auto mode. It allowed me to do so in Follow mode today.

Can you control speed ok, I sometimes need a slow speed approaching my target
Thanks for watching this video as well! As mentioned in the first video, I feel this video is nice and slow and you can also control it in the app to go slower. For example, you can set it to 4K 120 which I will test soon. Additionally, the JOYSTICK settings allow you to set the Horizontal, Vertical, Rotational and even pitch speeds - CHECK OUT at 1:45 in this video! I dont have the beacon and joystick YET but will make many videos with it when I get it.

Thank you! I don’t have the beacon and joysticks yet - ordered them a month ago. And, the software seems to be changing the ability to choose 8K and I haven’t tried it or found it yet.

Why aren't the directional buttons staying on all the time? it seems as if you have to drag the round object to make it come on, it's really dumb. By the way, the price went up since the campaign finished & it's now passed the proper Mini 4 Pro so, greed's kicked in, they're not making any sales like they did when it was reasonable.
