Good video as always Mick, now take that el-cheapo Hayter handle to a metal fab place and get the price of a quality replacement and put them on line. Now a common problem I have just repaired is a Honda mower with a hard to pull over starting problem, needed a belt driven cam gear "spring failed" and a valve adjustment, cheap fix for a driven $1,000.00 lawnmower.

I often have that cable clamp break and the customer thinks it needs a new opc/drive cable. They are surprised when I point out what's happened, replace the block and it's less than they think for the repair.

Hiya Mick. Nice job! I need a drive cable (not the blade clutch cable) for a Mountfield M3 mower. Can't find one online but wondering if you know of a source or if another cable can be adapted? Any help/advice appreciated.
I think it may be the clutch cable, not the throttle or BBC cable...
Looks like it's discontinued.. here is the part number in case you need it... RCL290016-00

Ohhh yes you could make something up.. Mountfield do a simple handle that would have worked
That is a flimsy handle, it's probably a cost issue why the makers choose that fecking thing and they will get the repeat business of the replacements 🙄. But it will break again if it is used in the same way.
