Does the maintenance light only come on for oil changes?

Most likely it's telling you that your oil needs changed. This can be confirmed by reading how much percentage of the oil life is left. If it's less than 10%, you should change your oil and reset the wrench light. If the check engine light is turned on, you should take your car to the auto store so they can read your error code to see what your problem is indicating. There are two warning lights on the civic, a wrench and an engine.
