  • Thank you for tuning back in to the PASSIONBUILT RUclips channel! Today we are diving into a new series on this channel that I'd like to call, Roadster Rehab. In the Roadster Rehab series we will be taking this 1997 Mazda Miata and reverting back to OEM Plus form. Today we are removing all of the aftermarket parts from this car such as a Sparco racing seat, BRIDE replica shift knob, Tanaka steering wheel, and a cat-back eBay exhaust system that we actually found some hidden damage on after we removed it. So make sure you stick around until the end of the video to see that damage that we found. If you enjoyed this video or found it helpful in any way. Please hit that LIKE and SUBSCRIBE button and stay tuned for upcoming episodes of Roadster Rehab!

YOOO Chase! I’m happy to hear from you man! I bought the car from your brother earlier this year. I told him I would be restoring it and keeping it clean and that’s exactly what I’m doing. Check out the other videos in this series, I’ve linked the series playlist below. The car has a fresh engine and is doing well. I still have it and don’t plan on getting rid of it any time soon. She sits pretty next to my turbo Miata. I think Devin said you live in Lake Mary. If you ever want to come see the car, just hit me up. I’m right down the road in Sanford 😃
Side note… you still have the OEM driver seat by chance? I’ve been having the hardest time finding a nice replacement. I’ve got a destroyed 95 M edition seat with a cover on it installed but have been on the hunt for a clean 94-97 driver black cloth seat for months with no luck 😫
Let me know if you do. I’ll buy it off you. Happy holidays. Hope you and your brother are doing well 😎

Did you sell the steering wheel hub/adapter already? Was it decent? If so, I'd be interested.
Also, which Sparco was that and lastly how did they mount harnesses without the rollbar?

Hey there. Fortunately, All of these parts have been traded off. I promise you wouldn’t have wanted that steering wheel. I showed in the video how much flex it had. I highly advise against Tanaka steering wheels.
The Sparco seat was dated from 2003. I’m not sure of the model but after 18 years of use. It’s surely time to be retired.
The harnesses were attached to the factory cockpit brace. There was also a section in this video of me unwrapping them from the brace if you wanted to see how they were attached. 🙂👍🏼
