  • In this video you will see me discus then show you how I made a fuel tank from a 5 gallon Jerry can. It isn't that hard or expensive to do even cheaper if you have an army surplus Jerry can. The parts you need are a bulk head fitting in my case it was 1/4" inside ID and 1/2" outside then you just need a valve for the fuel shut off that screws in to the bulk head fitting.

Yes in case anyone has one of these old trucks with old gas clogging the original tank this is the easiest and cheapest way to go.

Nice addition now you can get some good clean fuel to the engine! Great idea!

Yes and we mounted it solid now the bracket can be removed with thumb screws so its not going anywhere. It runs fine now. now the fuel regulator did the trick. I have to tackle the cosmetic issues and windows next.

Good thinking... gravity fed will always work :) Go Chubby !

I am using the Dupree electric fuel pump going through a fuel pressure regulator even though the mechanical one still works the pressure was sporadic. And yes it is just as good as the original tank and as a gravity fed tank just helps out the fuel pump a bit. Thannks for watching.

Thanks Slim. well it was either try to clean or replace the original gas tank this is just a safer alternative to hanging a one gallon gas can off the back. No new stuff around here.
