I want to get the polar express but I don’t want the legacy one or the beginner version because I already have track so I want to get one that I can put on my layout already and drive around when I can and have a some van driven smoke unit
Great video and the exact set I've been looking for. Please tell me where you got this train and what scale it is. I would like to find it for my grandson and myself but I cant find it anywhere. Is their a part number beside 1932040 which doesn't help on Lionels website.
@@wyattsdad8561 the berkshire that comes with the set is not command control. If you want the command control engine that is shown in the video, the engine costs 500 dollars by itself. If that makes sense.
@@RDS51403 okay yeah that makes total sense. The one that comes with the set the original lion chief kinda is a piece of junk. The smoke system affects the chuffing sound and if it gets gummed up by smoke oil the chuffing sound stops working or works intermittently. I’m not impressed with ours from a few years ago.
I appreciate you reviewing this model but your setup could be a little better. And you need to have an editing software. For one there's too much camera jerking around. What you need is a tripod a decent camera with a decent mic and a straight section of track where you can just do some basic moving back and forth displaying all the sounds. Then you cut the footage up and then couple up a train off screen and then do cuts in between camera locations so there's not so much camera jerking around. I recommend watching any of Eric's Trains videos. I usually follow his method for filming model train reviews and it really works. Either way it's a decent review of a great locomotive and you've made me want to buy one.
Would you say this is worth the money to upgrade form the engine that comes with the set? Also would you say it's louder than the original engine? Our original engine seems to have gotten quieter over the past two years and you can hardly hear it now.
I prefer the bigger engines with full legacy control. These small engines were made for people who don’t have the curves that can handle the big engines. These small ones are cute but I recommend the full legacy versions.
Very nice review and model! Love the Berkshires!
That's why I love the polar express because it's a Berkshire
Good Work With The Video.
Great layout!
That’s an awesome engine!
Hi you have a super nice layout

Great review. Thanks. Is the tender cast iron too?
The locomotive and tender have some good weight to them, they are probably dicast metal

Great vid! That’s a cool engine. How much do these cost?
The polar express retail price is just over 500 bucks. All of the other lionchief plus berkshires are between 400 and 500
@@RDS51403 we’ve already got the one Berkshire that came with the set. Those aren’t that much too are they?

Funny Lionel told me when I called them that the LC+2.0 doesn’t have movie sounds I wasn’t gonna buy it unless it had movie sound

What power supply do you need for train to work
Any transformer is alright as long it can give 18 volts of power, I recommend anything from Lionel
I think you mean 2716
