Great video. Tech, equipment, tools, and ... a butter knife! Nice!
Bought a used one for 39€
Got a real 15g IMS basket and just used the stock portafilter. The naked PF seems to bend the wings after a few months rendering it useless since it couldn't seal anymore
A few aspects are very nice. Fast heat up of like under 3min and the PF is also hot. Temp is not stable, but at least hot enough for medium-dark roasted beans.
Very energy efficient. With my power meter i measure electricity useage and it used less than my Dedica after 3 months of daily usage
Downsides
Drip tray doesn't hold a lot of liquid and spills into the innner parts making a mess without seeming like it overflows
Grouphead tends to leak steam and droplets a fair bit, even after a deep clean
But for sub 50eur used, you can do some decent espresso and even latte art
Also for anyone doing this, note that the boiler mount has different screws sizes: the 2 in the front are the smaller ones and the 3 in the back the bigger. Also another tip: the screw in the mount next to the steam wand controls how tight the steam wand is: don't over screw it to keep the wand relatively free to move.
For anyone intending to carry out such a service, please take lots of photographs or video every thing you do, to assist when putting the unit back together. This is a very helpful video, thanks
I have one and 100% can’t agree more I paid $50 for my ECP on Facebook marketplace. ☕️👍🏽😀👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Awesome! These little machines perform! Thanks for checking out the video! 🙂
Very nice with the upgrades.
Hey, would white vinegar work in place of the descaling solution?
Also, awesome video. The detailed breakdown was very informative. 👍🏻
Alright I found this machine for $45 locally. Totally want to get into the hobby. I come from keurig shitty coffee. My budget is limited so my question is from all the upgrades what order do you prefer? I know the filter makes a big difference. I was thinking of just buying espresso pre ground since I don't have budget for a grinder...... is a grinder that necessary?
TLDR: What are the order of the upgrades that you think make a difference (including a grinder)?
Thanks for your in depth video! 10/10
A grinder is quite necessary id recommend just getting a $30 hand grinder of off amazon but you wont get the proper performance out of pre ground coffee
Yes 25 plus your labor and knowledge 500$ 😅 ……. Good for you !❤ eco kock😂😂😂
