omg i was literally thinking of creating some monochromatic portraits using my new ohuhu markers and this video came at the perfect time!! so thank youuu :))
Hi, I bought new sketchbooks and I was so excited to go but then I hated everything I was doing...started scrolling through RUclips and found you!! I'm so grateful for this video thank you you've inspired me I know what I want to do now 🎉❤ have a blessed day ❤🇿🇦
i've been doing the 100 heads challenge and got super bored with my style so I'm so happy to come across this video. I'm definitely going to try this. Thank you! Also i really love how you do your line art
With the set of markers that I’ve got (Prismacolor), there’s not a lot of natural skin colors, so if I ever do portraits in marker, I’ll use what I’ve got and have fun, so this was a good demonstration of what can be done.
I was mostly a graphite and colored pencil artist and trying to jump into alcohol markers made me feel like I can't even Art. These videos are so wonderful. I look forward to trying some value studies and see if it helps. ♡♡
I truly appreciate you and everything you do on your channel. I have a problem with buying a lot of art supplies just to have them. I am now in a phase where I want to learn how to use the 500 markers I bought over the past three or four years. ❤
Wonderful!! You are so talented! I love these portraits and the effect of the monochrome in terms of conveying features and expression. So powerful!! Thank you!! 🤩🤩🤩
As soon as I saw your gouache portraits video I went and bought the exact same sketchbook you used and I LOVE it! Looks like now I'm gonna break out the markers haha! Love your videos and your style. Cheers! edit: subbed!
Love this! Can't wait to try it myself. I also wonder how this technique would work on urban & landscape sketching. I tried simple greys once before for an image of a black & white photo of a castle. Thanks for posting.
I love the video! How do you like working on the marker paper? I know alcohol markers bleed through sketchbook pages but would you use a sketchbook for this? If so, which do you prefer to use with the markers? Also, I LOVE your advice/reminder to yourself about being brave & bold and confident drawing the image larger. I will definitely write that in my sketchbook!
Hi Sarah! I really like this marker paper, I always prefer working in sketchbooks though because it feels more... cozy? but I've finished my usual sketchbook that I use markers in (stillman and birn) I think bleed through is always going to happen, but I don't mind it so much. Thank you for watching! :)

Looks like a great exercise for organizing values into distinct steps!
Yes, it’s a great exercise ☺️

I totally get that feeling! It took me a while to understand them but I found that keeping it simple has really helped 💕 thank you for watching
Pencils and colored pencils are too time consuming.
Markers are better and more brilliant for shades and tones
I just started watching your channel today and can't stop!
thank you for watching 🥰
Beautiful work as always. I’ve never seen markers that can be refilled before. This looks harder than your monochromatic paintings with gouache. ❤
thank you 🥺🥰 they felt harder because they made me focus on a different skill that I hadn't practiced in a while, but quicker to render for sure :)

I hope they make refills for all the all of pastel colors
So good😍
Thank you 💕🥰
Can you do a beginner guide for blending alcohol markers
Love this tutorial! Now i want to get my ohuhu markers ans create! Can i ask one question, where do you find good reference photos?
So glad you liked it 🥰 i sometimes use Pinterest for practice but also royalty free sites like Pexels and Unsplash are great!
Do you also use acrylic paint?
The portraits are so good!❤
Thank you! 🥰 I haven’t used acrylics in years, do you use them?
I absolutely love this!! I'm trying to follow along, but some of the reference links aren't working :( Maybe it's on my end?
ahh thanks so much for letting me know! I've just fixed them, they should work now hopefully but let me know if they don't :)
I have a doubt, Sofia, are you related to Indians. Considering the word pavan is in your name and pavan is an Indian word
