A quick tip fir maekers is that if you have a limited selection of colours you can use a grey marker over the top of your colour to creat a darker colour
I found 1 sketchbook which doesnt bleed, its not a special no bleed sketchbook, its a amzon sketchboom called "vivalacolour sketchbook" unfornately it only comes in square but this sketchbook suprised me as ive not found a single sketchbook that doesmt bleed other than this one even watercolour 300gsm will bleed through, but i domt know whats special about this one, its not even made for alchohol markers but for wet mediums, gibe it a go if your OCD about using the backside of a page like i am
One came w my cheap alcohol markers that has a plastic backing & i love it so much 😭 says its a Lineon marker pad, 50 sheets 8.27” x 5.9” (210 mm* 150 mm) 60lbs/90gsm if anyone wants a mini rectangular one. I tear 2 sheets out & place them horizontally between my coloring pages :>
Ohuhu made a great bleedproof marker sketchbook. You can use both sides of the paper too! It’s 60 sheets and costs around $16 which, for the quality, is super reasonable! Make sure you look specifically for the bleed proof one tho as they have two other marker sketchbooks that are also great, but they do bleed slightly.
Thank you for taking the time to share your process and for all the tips! I've always been drawn to marker illustrations but overwhelmed by the idea of blending or just not knowing where to start. I love how you have simplified things and given me courage to have a go!
The reflections on those berries are just perfect! Heightening the marker with opaque white was a great strategy, and it seems like the white ink didn't re-wet the marker at all! We're impressed!
The process for the strawberries is amazing. I think I will buy a full set of Ohuhu and replace them with Copic as they get used up, that way I won't be spending money on colours I don't actually use.
Thank you for the strawberry tutorial. I have never used alcohol markers and your video(s) are a great starting point for me. Your help is appreciated.
This whole page and your art style was definitely a vibe and I loved it so much. Your video was so calming and inspiring. Thank you for sharing your talent and the process, truly loved everything about this. ✨🩵
I just started sketching in August of 2022. I moved into using the Ohuhu pretty quickly and I LOVE THEM! I just recently figured out how to use one color and love the layering effect. Thanks for sharing your work! I'm going to try the "strawberry effect" this evening.
Dear Sofia, thank you for sharing this video! I usually use watercolors. But it was interesting to watch your painting process. It reminds me of my "markers period" which was a few years ago. And greetings from the Netherlands ❤
thanks for this video!! i got 48 ohuhu markers for christmas and while they’ve 100% been super fun to do stuff with, i haven’t fully been able to figure out the process on my own. so this helps!!!
Hello, I love the effects you achieve with markers. Oh...for the issue with the bleed through, they have an plastic cover page to put in between your work to protect the next page, or I just tear out the first page and place it in between each page as I go. Keep up the good work!
Hello. Witch sketchbook do you use for you,re markers? love alcohol markers and himi miya gouache 56 set. And i also love coloured pencils from a store in the netherlands i think I bought 12 coloured pencils for 2,50. They are great cheap pencils i love them😊i whised they come in more colours like gold, brons silver diffrent skintone colours ectra😊i love you,re alchol marker drawings. So cute😊
Wow...as I was scrolling....the STRAWBERRIES caught my eye! 🍓🍓🍓They are amazing! Then I watched the video and the marker, the nail polish and everything are really good! I have used market a little...and don't know what I am doing....so this will definitely help! Thank you so much for sharing!🙂
Your voice is soo soothing! It's very relaxing, but not boring, and that acent - ✨️colors✨️ - incredible 😄❤ Also your art and tips - next level! I really thought, as a beginner to art and just received my ohuhu markers thought "I must blend the colors, I will never achieve realism because I don't have that much colors" and you are like "so I used 3 ✨️colors✨️ for this whole drawing, getting it to look picture perfect. So ye, very inspirational!❤
Unbelievable… thank you so much for sharing your wonderful tips and tools with us. Those strawberries 🍓 are amazing😮!!! I just ordered my markers. You have inspired me to start playing with color again. Thank you !!
LOVEEEEEE the realistic drawings and OMG the coloring is AWESOME…. I am very new to the drawing/coloring process so PLEASE PLEASE keep those videos coming because I am learning watching your videos ❤❤❤❤
Great tips, I'll give my markers another time. I got the winsor and newton markers, they are great but I also have a limited selection. It's so different than painting with acrylics. I'll try your approach because I also found out that mixing colors of different temperature wasn't a great idea afterall. Plus markerks really do make you think about clear shapes, I use charcoal, pastels and acrylics mostly and I never think much about the sketch and shapes. Thanks again!
It would be cool if we could also see the same reference picture you are using. The biggest lesson is in how to relay contour with light. You are talented at showing the light, but it's harder for us to see what you are mirroring when looking at what you are drawing. if that makes sense. it's like us trying to do a copy of a copy, when we could be following along with you and trying to copy the original via your instruction.
This is such a calming and motivating video! I just bought my first set of alcohol markers and this shows some great techniques to think about as a beginner :)
I loved this video 😍 you do such lovely art. I’ve watched a whole bunch of videos today and you’re great! Also I find your voice and videos so soothing and calming. So many RUclipsrs are so annoying to listen to that I skip through loads of them but not you!
Your colouring is amazing. I am exhausted by constantly trying to master the blending techniques we are often shown. It was so refreshing to see your approach and that's it's okay not to blend and you can still get brilliant results.
Fun tutorial! I like how casual and free flowing you keep the whole instruction sharing. Something about your manner, it just relays a very stress-free, all drawing is a great drawing, sort of vibe, Very art-therapy. Thank you for creating this video!!
Wow! So many useful tips on how to use alcohol markers. Thank you for such a lovely and helpful demonstration! Can't wait to try my markers out that have been resting sadly on the shelf.
Hi Sara! I began playing with markers a few years ago and from what I can remember I used some youtube videos and a lot of trial and error, but I stopped using them and have only just reconnected with them in the past few months. Because I don't do tons of blending I don't find that I'm seeking out tutorials anymore and I tend to just experiment and play with them! I think in these two ohuhu sets I have about 100 markers!
I love how you drew the strawberries!! I want to draw a strawberrie too. 😭🍓 Also, um, are ohuhu markers a better choice than copic markers? I wanted to find markers that had different colors not repeated and that last long. I was wondering what you thought about copic markers.
Ahh thank you sm ☺️ i’ve actually never used copic markers before so I can’t compare, but I have found ohuhu markers to be just as good quality as other brands I’ve tried
@sofiapavanmacias Ah, your welcome!! 😊 oh I see, I was wondering cause I wasn't sure what kind coloring markers would be good since copic markers are expense 😅 but thank you for responding! :) 💖
thank you sm! :) I don't have my markers with me right now but from looking at a list of colors on the website I think it was pink (for the lightest shade) and vermillion and geranium for the two red shades!
@@sofiapavanmacias ahh thank you so much, for taking the time to check what colors you used and for taking the time to reply :)! Gonna try to recreate your strawberries :)
