- Learn how to play each of the solos in "Heaven" by Los Lonely Boys by watching this video and getting the transcription (TAB) and backing track here: wp.me/pUCNy-vD
***Take note that Los Lonely Boys plays their guitars tuned down a half-step. I transposed the backing track up a half-step so that I wouldn't have to retune my guitar.
Perfect!! No blabbering, standard tuning, tasteful, perfect timing, correct notes. Love it!!!!!!!!
Thanks for watching!
The perfect way to teach guitar quickly. Excellent execution, thank you for your time 🫡
Thanks a lot. That was really helpful. I loved that you had the slow motion portions as they were very easy to follow. Thank you again.

Kidfixer - i just now saw your comment below regarding the speed. if you open the settings (wheel) in youtube you will be able to slow it down even more. i find this very useful on some of the faster licks.

+Pivotationnater Thanks so much for watching!
Nicely Done!
Thanks for watching!
muito bom show
I remember this
I'm really wondering how you (and Henry Garza) get that guitar tone! What is it?
Sam Booshin As for what I'm using, it's Amplitube 2 digital modeling. An Fender Blackface style amp with a Tubescreamer and a bit of delay.
Ahh. That makes sense, thanks! Great lesson by the way!
Hi is your fender strat a deluxe strat with SCN pups? Alder body?
Can you PLEASE help me with the section when you play the downward scale at exactly 2:51? You have to play in triplets correct? But how do you play it that fast? Are you doing alot of pull-offs and hammer-ons or are you double picking all the triplet notes? I looked at the tabs where you have to o pull-offs and it just doesn't sound right when I play it.
Please tell me where to get that baking track
For my skill level, this tutorial works great for me since I know my scale and you slow down the parts enough where I could pick it up. I don't need all the details fingering stuff.
rolandr86 thanks for watching. I'm glad it helps!
Totally Agreed with rolandr86.. Thank you Earle Wood ..u nail it!!!🇸🇬
u got the sound down! wtg!
Nailed it
Thanks so much! I'm surprised this video is still making it around RUclips after all these years! Thanks for watching.
Very good Earl!
Wow! Thanks!
What is the strum pattern?
My wife, parents and I are going Rams Head On Stage this weekend to see Los Lonely Boys on Saturday night! They're amazing! Can't wait! A few years ago, I learned their hit song "Heaven" note for note. Check it out!

Great job! Very helpful. Thank you. Is that an American Deluxe Strat?
Yes, that is an American Deluxe Strat. Sorry for the delayed response. Thanks for watching!
hi, do you have the whole song transposed?
Hello, the link to the transcription (TAB) is in the description :)
Remember lonely does on key of G because he tune it around like 435 instead 440
Hi Earl,
At the beginning of the 4th solo, are you picking only the G and D strings?
Ben
Simply, yes, only the D and G strings are ringing. However, I'm actually strumming a bit wider and clipping the surrounding A and B strings a bit to give it that SRV muted rake thing that Henry Garza does so well. I'm muting all of the strings except for the D and G strings to allow that to happen. Thanks for watching!
Hi, are you muting the G string in the intro riff?
Yes, I'm muting and/or avoiding the G string.
Pretty good I thought !
There is an error in your transcription, on measure 38 there should be a slide from 8 to 10 on the b string instead of an 8 on the high e like at 3:27
nice video. but you gotta explain to the beginners about fret hand muting and whatnot. if i didn't know how to play already id be confused a bit
Thanks for watching. I understand what you are saying, but I don't give step-by-step tutorials for songs that are at that this level. If techniques like muting have to be explained than this song is too advanced. No shame in that at all. For players who are ready, the TAB and the video should be enough. Besides, my I'm not very good speaking on camera and there's only so much time in the day. Thanks again for watching my video.
i get that and thanks for posting the video because i was at a stuck point learning this song. keep up the good work and sorry if i came off as rude or disrespectful.
No offense taken at all. Your comments are fair and common. It's just not what I do. Thanks again for watching and best of luck to you in your playing.
I know this is very late but backing track?
There's a link in the description :)
you're sharp. tune down to E flat or play it half step down.
Great playing.
Even the slow-mo is still too fast for me because I cant tell which strings you're picking. I really prefer tutorials that talk you through the finger placement and picking. Nice job though, you nailed it.
Kidfixer Hi! Thanks for watching. I'm sorry that the video isn't as helpful as you like. I'd like to point out that there is tablature available on my website. Just follow the link. I'm confident that the TAB will help clear things up for you. Best of luck!
Thanks, Earle. Yeah...guitar has been SO hard to learn with severe ADHD. Everything I know how to play was shown to me. I simply do not possess the patience to learn all the notes, chords, scales and theory. What I KNOW how to play, I play well...but learning new stuff is always a struggle. I envy you guys who have mastered the instrument.
is this in standard?
I thought I was going to learn how to play this song because that's what the title said but instead it was a cover.
Hi Ivar. Thanks for watching the video. I was hoping that the real-time shots, the slowed-down shots and the TAB that I have linked in the description would be sufficient information to learn the tune. My philosophy is that players who are ready to tackle a tune at this difficulty level don't need a teacher babbling on about techniques, finger placement and note names. They just need a visual aid and TAB to back it up. Perhaps I am incorrect, but that's what I believe and my videos will mostly be formatted this way. I hope you can find the value in it. Cheers to you and good luck with your playing.
Sombody needs to do a preper tutoriol
your ears are the proper tutorial. thats why its normal speed , and then slow speed. try it out, it is way more valuable then any other way of learning
dude make a video of senorita also
How about "change the world "😊
It's in the wrong key. Your'e a 1/2 step too high, and no, the studio version is not tuned down a 1/2 step. This will heavily confuse a beginner I think.
Confusing for someone tryin to learn it. Why are you i this key. Your spot on but half step high.... why lol
Thanks for watching. Read the video's description. Henry Garza, the guitarist for Los Lonely Boys tunes his guitars down a half step. Rather than retune my guitar, I tuned the song up a half step.
***** ya well now your a half step to high. Idk this jusf makes ot harder for me now because this is literally the only good video on here... i guess ill just have to use my ears like jimi hendrix. Thanx buddy.
Connor Valliere great vid but fuuck lol. You sound good man
Connor Valliere Sorry I can't help you out more. Keep trying and you'll get it. Best of luck.
Connor Valliere Dude just tune your guitar to E Standard. If you don`t know how to go from E Flat to E standard then you shouldnt be playing this song.
The song is a little bit to hi
Video was great. Slow motion was awesome. Honestly if you need to be told what string and fret to use then this song is probably a bit too advanced for you.
Thanks so much for watching! And I agree!
***** Do you have any plans to breakdown the solos on Jesus is Just Alright by the Doobie Bros?
Jorge Suarez No, not right now. But great song though!
Oh I'm sorry, a slide from 8 to 12.
holy shit earle wood is a badd a ass
My dad made the song
It would be much easier to learn if you actually talked about what strings to pluck and the rhythm.
I'm sorry that video isn't more helpful. Be sure to use the TAB that matches the video. You can get it from the link in the video's "About" section. Thanks for watching.
It is very helpful for those of us who have a good understanding of scales and chords already. The slow portions are all perfect for this type of learning.
Ben Rait Thanks Ben. I appreciate the kind words.
Thank you for posting it. In my opinion there are plenty of people giving lessons meant for beginners and not enough for intermediate/advanced players.
aaaaaa, what the hell. are u kidding me, ah
Your in the wrong key man
I wouldnt call this a guitar lesson..
Why teach it in standard tuning, would of liked it if you had of talked as well, because your teaching method is ok for robots.
Useless
I'm sorry that you couldn't learn anything useful from the video and tab. Let me know how I can make the experience better. Thanks for watching!
***** Either Julian Cintron is being sarcastic, in which case he needs to learn how to express that better in written form, i.e. = , or he is a moron. Right now I am leaning towards moron. Great job on this video. So simple even a caveman could learn from it. :o)
Kirk McConnell thanks for watching. I'm glad that the video is helpful.
