They ARE insanely underrated. I just happened upon them in concert at the Iowa State Fair about 6 years ago. They absolutely blew me away. And it was on a free concert stage. Can't wait for a chance to see them again
as a guitar player, the guitar is clearly insane... but Jojo's base playing has always stuck out to me because it adds SO much to the sound. Really like a Base and a rythm guitar all in one.
Henry does what he wants ..so when you say he's wandering nobody taught him this. They have played together as brothers since children. AND WON GRAMMYS DOING IT!! These are my friends. The best. Los Lonely Boys
I didn’t know who these guys were when they played Willie Nelson’s picnic in Austin. They were unannounced surprise guest but thrown up after all the other heavy weights and just before Willie. I thought “WTF?” Why are these guys who I’ve never heard of put into this slot. When they hit the stage my jaw hit the ground…..and stayed there. They blew me the F away! Thanks for covering one of the most underrated guitarist ever.
Los Lonely Boys are one of those bands I forget about constantly. Their "top 40ish" hits like Heaven are great but when you get in to the rest of their stuff it's like a whole different level. The whole band is just badass.
Mike I'm 75 years old and I've listened to the Lonely Boys years ago. They were just tadpoles playing country with their dad.! One of the best bands ever.!
I’m all for the deep dives. Short videos are great but these guys have put their whole life experience into this song and has such really deserves a deep dive. As do all their songs. I realize there’s time restraints and attention spans to consider but yes, deep dive baby.
btw...two riffs I'd lke to understand (for short video analysis) come to mind...Millionaire Blues by Dire Straits and the riffs from the guitarist in Gimme One Reason Tracy Chapman
Hi. Thanks for the video and the comments on the band. Can you talk more about that harmonic minor scale theory and how it is used with the blues box? Thank you.
Glad you're doing Los Lonely Boys. Been into them since I saw a TV special featuring them and Ronnie Milsap. I know this is guitar focused but the drummer and bass player are always cooking.
No man.....yeah we could go to Arby's something to fill my stomach. But you want to go for the home cooking to feed your soul. You're a bona fide expert. Just listening to you say "did you catch that" or "watch and listen for when he goes back to the G" all of the things like that are nuggets. I'm trying to say make them as long as you want. The longer the better. Just listening to you pick apart a song is so informative and interesting. I so greatly appreciate your knowledge and talents.
That looks like Reese Wynans (SRV and Bonamassa) on keys. I would be up for the long version. I'm an intermediate player/hobbyist and I'm stuck in the pentatonic so learning how to embellish would be wonderful. I love knowing the theory but I especially love being able to apply that knowledge in real time in a the context of a song. That's what I feel like I'm getting in your vids so thanks, appreciate it!
These Texas boys really rock...I agree that Los Lonely Boys are underrated. Thanks Michael...I really enjoyed your course and analysis of this jam video...this is what I am missing in my guitar knowledge...well, that and so much more lol. Anyway, I'm a research analyst and I have so much to learn, so I'm in favor of deep dives and longer vids when appropriate. You have a wealth of knowledge...thanks for sharing brother. I am guitarless for the next cpl weeks but will def look at your courseware. Thanks again for sharing. Great analysis.
Hey bro i like the way you do your videos..I've been a guitar teacher since 1980...I also have a studio, play in a band in Central Texas and also do sound for over 1000 clients state wide..and also produce the best Americana show at SXSW in Austin..but I was the sound man for Los lonely boys 5 years ago..Henry and the brothers are great musicians..some of the best times I ever had..if your ever in Texas and I'm sure your in a band or two..Look me up....keep up the good work.. Roy. Sound-Station Studios.... Facebook
YES Michael! I can’t believe you did this song. I love “How Far is Heaven” and I stumbled across this one on a RUclips rabbit hole. It’s one of the best live performances from such an underrated band. You’re fantastic. In the Process of moving into a new house but once the dust settles I’ll be signing up for your classes.
Yes I want to see that dives. when I watch your videos, I don't just watch one at a time because it is short I wash probably three. I'm still catching up and if you can deep dive and I end up learning with you the win-win for me
Los Lonely Boys are one of the best bands ever! They are so incredibly gifted. LOVE THEM!!
Always felt los lonely boys were insanely underrated.

This band is like the most underrated band ever. The guitar player has a killer style and the voices of the three brothers also rock.
Henry does what he wants ..so when you say he's wandering nobody taught him this. They have played together as brothers since children. AND WON GRAMMYS DOING IT!! These are my friends. The best. Los Lonely Boys

The first 15 seconds of this vid are worth the price of admission alone. Man, killer licks there.
Love the combo of SRV influences and the Latin flair. Very cool

Los Lonely Boys are one of those bands I forget about constantly. Their "top 40ish" hits like Heaven are great but when you get in to the rest of their stuff it's like a whole different level. The whole band is just badass.

Henry Garza is one heck of a guitar player.
Henry started playing when he was 3 years old. #Texican Rock and Roll
I’d like longer videos. I really learn a lot from all of your videos.
Texican rock and roll, baby!!
Saw them live probably a decade ago. They blew the doors off the place.
Saw them live back in 2018, they were freaking amazing. So lucky they came to Salem Oregon.
They blow the doors off every time.
I’m all for the deep dives. Short videos are great but these guys have put their whole life experience into this song and has such really deserves a deep dive. As do all their songs. I realize there’s time restraints and attention spans to consider but yes, deep dive baby.
