I want another aspiring singer from another country where the Fire Saga makes a cameo. I'd want Will Ferrel to write the story though since his comedy is on-point.

I find it quite telling that all the critics seem to hate it, or at best find it mediocre, and all the Eurovision fans, artists included, love it to bits. And don't get me started on the american critics, that's almost documentary film fodder. Although none of the critics seem to have any clue about what Eurovision is about, but amusingly enough, Will Ferrell seem to have figured it out.
@@pmsavenger I think it's because his wife is Swedish and he understands Eurovision - I've lived in France all my adult life and I love, detest, think it's outrageous, triple kitsch, but watch every bit I can. I've seen the film three times now, will watch it every time I need an uplift, and wish the American critics would just STOP - I love it

What is up with critics? They must have political agendas in the movie to like it or what?
@@pmsavenger Well, it's formulaic and predictable, an average comedy in most respects. I predicted every joke and plot point except the knife throwing elf. But the focus on Iceland was unique and the sincerity and the commitment of the actors made it likable. It had a warmth and sweetness to it that didn't feel fake.

It'' s my favorite song too. And the far-too-short moments in the film that it's seen/heard are my favorite parts of the movie.
Ja ja Ding Ding however is a bit amusing, but imo definitely not the best song of the film.

Seeing Conchita for the first time in the song-along scene gave me CHILLS. The way the camera panned over, revealing Conchita like some ethereal glam Jesus with killer sleek hair, was absolutely _breathtaking_

Conchita is one of the very few people that really make me proud to be Austrian. She is such a leader and such a gift to the world. She had the biggest balls going out on the stage with a beard, makeup and that golden dress... Such an inspirational human being

We all know he’s male and identified as so, but when you’re performing under your Drag persona (such as Conchita) then most people will say she. I’m sure he’s not mad, seems how he won’t be upset because he’s not performing as Thomas.

Mixed in appearance, but she is very much at the male-ish side of the gender-fluid spectrum: a drag queen (gay man dressing as a woman), not anything trans in self-identification. At any rate, after Dana International in 1998, Eurovision did it again, and with someone who can sing.

Opinion, Eurovision should include a rule of every contestant to have 50% of the song performed in their native language.
I don't think it should be a rule but I'd love to hear the native language of the song! As long as there are subtitles so everyone can follow. Although to be fair the right song will hit everyone in the feels no matter the language. Music being one of the universal languages we have

This was so cool....great to see former contestants and winners watching and reactions in real-time. ABBA+ Celine Dion reactions would be EPIC! Love the film so much FUN just want we needed during this awful 2020 thus far! Hope Netflix ask Will and Rachel to do SEQUEL with the kids😁

@@Lumibear. The real problem is people who refuse to use whatever pronoun someone prefers who is _not_ okay with any version. But, you would not have any of these problems if you spoke a language like Hungarian: no grammatical genders at all, much less gendered pronouns.

I was not aware of Eurovision until Netflix. Went to RUclips and was shocked a lot of the songs and artist I actually love and know! I want to binge entire show from the first year it started

Another fun fact is that both Molly and her 2 younger sisters Frida and Mimmi have competed in Junior Eurovision Song Contest before
the one with the Fizz earrings made me cry when she said Conchita's singing was beautiful.... I just remember how controversial it was for Conchita in Austria when she was starting, and then she was selected by ORF to go to Baku and ended up winning! So many small minded people in Europe still made fun of the drag queen winning.... and it just makes me so emotional to see how far she has come and how strong she is.
