Two small-town singers chase their pop star dreams at a global music competition, where high stakes, scheming rivals and onstage mishaps test their bond. Развлечения
This is Rachel Mcadam's movie, she elevates every single scene.
I can tell you that Rachel worked so hard on this movie.. She is incredible..
I wasn’t with Rachel for those other movies, just this one for 4 months and “About Time” but you’re right, she’s great in them all...
rachel and dan are the real stars of this movie, periodt.
Honestly its the three of them. Take one away its s flop.

This movie definitely caught me by surprise, critics can suck it. This movie was really enjoyable and not as corny as I thought it was going to be.
Why are so many people in this comment section acting as if critics fully hated this movie? In fact they didn't, 60% on Rotten Tomatoes indicates that the majority of them enjoyed it.
Greetings from an Austrian critic who also liked this movie.
i think sadly MOST critics now a days see comedies as serious movies and rate them the same way they would a drama movie, and it doesn't really work out and i think that is why comedy movies have much lower rating than like drama movies, although sometimes the comedy might be better than the drama
They did the same with The Greatest Showman. Critics hated it and everyone loved it!
@@footyfan101ful I know a lot of people who aren't critics and REALLY didn't like THE GREATEST SHOWMAN.
@@footyfan101ful greatest showman sucked ass. It was cliche, formulaic and had no engaging characters.
I need more of Rachel McAdams in comedy roles like this she completely stole the show in this film
She’s also really good in Game Night which is a great comedy ☺️
Definitely... I find her pretty unlikable in a lot of the trashy romcom roles she gets. They're so boring and rely so heavily on her just smiling and saying dumb corny lines. But she is great here. I didn't find her annoying for one second. And shows off her chops SO MUCH MORE! She is a natural at comedy.
She is also in Wedding Crashers
They really were adorable in this movie.
@@Carol-in8bm 01
I love that Sigrit was just as silly as Lars. They could’ve made her the boring straight man figure but they didn’t and it made the movie so much better.
Professor Mystery yes! That was what was so charming it’s like she was the straight man but had her own quirks. And she loved Lars so much she would indulge in his over the top weirdness. She had so many layers in this movie!
I actually felt Sigrit was sillier than Lars lol
@Maria Maria straight man is a term in comedy- there’s usually in comedy duos a “straight man” is the counterpart to the “joker”... I’d open up google once in a while if I were you!
@Maria Maria Tl;dr
@@Arcannabis Wow what a wicked turn you made there. Yikes.
THE ELVES WENT TOO FAR
Hahahahhaahha im gonna use that from time to time.
Best line in the film 😂

yup
Such a surprise this movie was. I know some critics really didn't like it but I enjoyed this heartwarming and funny story.
they don't really like much tbh
I don’t watch things over and over again. I’ve watched this four times and can’t stop watching the music videos.
We love it in our house! Heartwarming, fun and lovely, what's not to love? 🙂🙂
Cannot get these songs out of my head!
Jorgumander World Serpent me too! haha
Imho Rachel is underrated. She's such a talented, adorable actress, capable of dramatic performances and funny roles as well. Loved her in this, she was the heart of the movie!
Yes! Once more for the people in the back!!!!
She's so underrated! Like think of the thankless role she got in Doctor Strange? The straight man to Benny C's character, given nothing to do but react to him and sigh at his arrogance. Such a waste of her talents!
She was good in the movie...but..I’m kinda tired of the trend where the movie industry cast actors or actress that don’t do their own singing or where they cast a someone in a musical that can’t sing just because they are famous. There are actors and actress that can sing really well so it’s unnecessary in my opinion.
And for those that think Rachels voice was mixed with the singer Molly “My Marianne” Sandèn, listen to the movie’s album on spotify where it’s only Molly and Will that sings. I couldn’t hear any difference from the songs in the movie
R Z I love the marvel movies but wow are there some truly wasted actresses playing the various girlfriends. Truly top tier talent given essentially nothing to do. You’ve got Natalie Portman, Rachel MacAdams, Lupita Nyongo: use them Marvel! Admittedly they all have reasonable roles in their respective films but the lack of impression they leave is criminal.
@@netsider I was only thinking of the MCU at the time but yes definitely. I haven't seen all the DC films either but Amy Adams seems overqualified for Lois Lane too. I don't mean that they're overqualified for some 'silly superhero film' or whatever film elitists might say, just that when you've got these amazing actresses at the top of their field, why not use them? Let them be incredible!
Regina George represented Iceland at Eurovision and she hit a speorg note. It. Was. Awesome.

"The elves went too far!" 2020 summed up in five words..
This movie is so freaking charming. It honestly does not matter Rachel isn't actually singing, she sells it perfectly, her accent, God I love her so much in this movie. She just makes you smile constantly
Rachel’s acting is really on point. Even though she didn’t actually sing, she already nailed it with that accent alone. She’s an amazing, underrated actress.
I’m glad they replaced her singing voice with an actual singer rather than botch it. She’s an actor first and foremost, not a singer.
Not totally true. They mixed her and Molly Sanden's voices together.
@@xavierbeurre8064 that's actually not quite true. The only time you ever hear Rachel actually sing in the movie is when she is playing the piano in her room and during the dress rehearsal when Lars surprises her with the effects of their performance and she's screaming. But that climax is all Molly.
The previous songs she performs in its Rachel more in the beginning but Molly takes over each song as it progresses.
I was shocked when they didn't even have Dan Stevens sing his own song but that was sadly due to the pandemic when they were doing final audio editing. Still works really well though
I love how she was taking both glasses from Lemtov the whole time and the next morning he's already learned to offer her 2
the two of them are so good, I need another movie with just Lemtov and Sigrit on adventures
@@tessfishy oh yes please, I'd happily add my signature to that petition.. Mita should join too

Sigrit deserved better than Lars
It’s something about her loyalty, her bravery, her sweetness, her continuing belief that everything will be okay. The fact that she always sees the best in him. She has a kind of innocence that refuses to be destroyed. She is pretty amazing...
Real waifu material
You nailed it right on the head.
The little elf door slamming shut was one of the best moments in the movie 😂
Yes it was! I laughed as I hard I popped the button on my pants.
I thought so, too!!! Just after they stabbed that guy and the door slammed shut!! Too funny!
Funny how Lars don’t believe in elves there is a famous elf whose name is buddy who looks like him 🤔
The king of all the elves lol
oh my god, i didn’t think about that 😂
That’s the whole inside joke 😂
Bahaha
Omg I can’t believe I didn’t notice the two cups/glasses running gag.
I really didn't expect to like this movie so much.
Me either! Not a fan of his movies at all. Such a funny movie
Me neither. I'm not a fan of Will Ferrel, and only watched this movie because Rachel McAdams was in it💞
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie, and have watched it several times since it came out.
Rodney R Tennis same!!!! I even bought the songs on iTunes. Obsessed with them.

How the critics panned this is beyond me. Best funny feel good movie in years!
F**k the Critics!
because critics don't care about the story they never have.
They probably didn't even watch it.
I'm tired of saying this but here goes........please don't listen to "critics" they are clueless! Besides how people think that a critic is an authority and that their opinion will be the same as everyone else.....is beyond me!
they're US critics, who never grew up with eurovision. so...
We need a Rachel McAdams and Dan Stevens movie or series. Make it happen, Netflix!
I totally agree, maybe Mother Russia does not xD
We really do. I think they have great on screen chemistry
Nnah we need a Fire Saga 2 please Netflix!!
Yes pls...
Yes please
This movie was sooo good
Just another example that the critics have no idea what they are talking about and why people should ignore them
Exactly!!
No one gives a shit about those poop flavored dickheads anyways. Have a great day Kat.😁
I’ve seen mostly good reviews..
The only review I read is from yelp
Rachel McAdams is so talented she can literally pull off any role. Remember, she was also Regina George!
I can tell you that Rachel worked so hard on this movie... She is incredible..!
Her hair in the movie was a wig. I can’t believe that
Hold up...... WHAT????
We never forgotten 😒
I mean... That's two roles.
It was hilarious af, how Rachel’s character freaked out at the dancers touching her. Then the random pyro effects. Pure gold!!!!
One of the best moments of the movie 😂😂
She was the heart and soul of this movie
I agree, I just wish it was her singing for real.
I wish Fire Saga was a real band. And the Elves are their back up dancers 😅
Her best character part in this movie was left out of this video. When Lars finally shows up at the finals, I (and probably everybody) was expecting her to be angry or ashamed that he finally showed up. But she was super excited and showed that she loved him more than any other girl from any other love story loves any man. And then to top it off, she reminded him that they would be disqualified if they switched songs, knowing full well how much winning meant to Lars. I really hope all you guys find a love like Sigrets. She reminded me so much of my wife.
This may seem silly, but I really wished Lars line, when she reminded him they would disqualified, was more like, "It doesn't matter," or maybe mirroring Mitta, "Winning, losing, it doesn't matter." I know that he said that the best song isn't the winning song in his speech, but I just wish that Lars said something more than, "Just sing."
Oh Man i do really Envy you....you are so lucky ir u have a wife that loves u that way ...
Love your comment to...i agree at all! Hope some day enjoy a love so pure....greetings from México . This movie it's a diamond
Everyone saying the line “the elves went too far!” Is the best in the movie are not wrong, but another strong contender is Sigrit saying “let’s go sex nuts!!”
Don’t forget “There are no gays in Russia” and “Romance destroys bands: Simon and Garfunkel”
@@coby4480 The Simon and Garfunkel one made me pause the movie because I was laughing way too hard.
How bout, “I’ll just leave the knife, in case, you have to, do any more murders”
Tyler Smith yeah, you’re right. That is up there with best lines in the movie. I forgot about that one!!
PLAY JA JA DING DONG!
My family and I LOVE this movie!!! It was funny and so surprisingly heart warming - love that Lemtov and Mita aren’t ‘villains’ and OMG the ELVES!!! Nice nods to actual Icelandic culture and yes McAdams is a treasure in this! THANK YOU NETFLIX FOR SUCH A GEM WHEN WE NEEDED IT!!!
Will and Rachel had such good chemistry
"THE ELVES WENT TOO FAR!!!" My favorite quote of the entire film!
She MAKES this movie. Such a hilarious and heartfelt performance. 💖
Sigrit is amazing. Beautiful, quirky, loyal and authentic. Rachel nailed every scene. Bravo.
At the beginning of this year, I don't think anyone would think they would be saying this:
THE BEST SONG OF 2020 IS FOUND IN A WILL FERRELL MOVIE.
There. I said it.
Are we talking about Lion of Love? Because I strongly agree.
Ja ja ding dong!
Double truble
Oh yes, Jaja Ding Dong
I ONLY WANT TO HEAR JAJA DING DONG!!!!!!!!!!
She was perfect for this movie. It was one of her best performances
Was never a huge Rachel McAdams fan. Nothing against her, there just seemed to be a period there when she was in literally everything. But if you can watch this movie, and don’t fall absolutely head over heels in love with her Sigrid, there’s got to be something seriously wrong with you.
My thoughts exactly.
It seems like an impossible feat
What was she in that you didn’t like?
Nicholas Etue Nothing. I only said that there was a period of time when she seemed to be in everything. Just a general over-saturation situation. But I loved her in this. It was a real tour de force performance for her.
Agree at all!
Racheal McAdams is one if those rare human people who are a treasure and a gift to the world.
*GASP* "Shut your mouth or the elves will SHUT IT FOR YOU!!" 😂😂😂
That little hop at the beginning when she trips over the scarf is so adorable!
I absolutely loved Sigrit’s child-like personality in this movie. She was so damn cute 🥰
This is the feel good movie in a year where we need it more than ever....
If there are bloopers - PLEASE SHOW THEM!
This movie, I'd watch again any day.
Yes I bet that would be hilarious!
Sigrit is a absolute inspiration for all working teachers out there. Teaching and following her passions outside of her 9 to 5 career. And also standing by her principals when she believes she’s been beat and being a good sport, being an awesome role models for her students.
As a teacher I love this comment ❤😂
She's got the talent, the looks and she has best hair! She's just so effortlessly gorgeous in every way♥
As an American I watched this movie bc I had heard of Eurovision bc I like some of the artists that have won in previous years.. but I was shocked at how much I loved the story of Lars and sigrit, and I’m not much of a fan of Will Ferrell but him and Rachel mcadams are hilarious. No joke I’ve had the movie on repeat for several days i wanna know every word of it it’s iconic🙌🏽 and bonus points for having the previous Eurovision winners/stars show up for a cameo 💕

We (my 15 month old grandbaby and I) watch over and over. I watch because the movie is fantastic and Dan Stevens is so easy on the eyes, and the baby watches for the music. She loves to dance to the songs.
Rachel and Will make such a cute couple. I’d love to see Fire Saga: After Eurovision.
Two cups of coffee? Both mine.
Such a badass.
What I loved was her sincerity with her elves spirituality. I have known island women and their magical beliefs can be so easily dismissed by outsiders as superstition. She portrayed her character without any condescension and I was moved by that.
Like how Rachel can do serious dramatic role one minute and then hilarious comedic role the next
Rachel McAdams just lit up this movie. She just was so bright and funny in every scene.
I know she's not the one singing but it works so well with her character. Such a pure hearted girl with a big voice.
This movie is exactly what this shitstorm of a year needed! ❤️

Some of them deserve knocking. But definitely not this one!
She deserves an oscar win for this film.

I don’t watch a whole lot of films more than once, this is one of the exceptions.
Yeah, already seen it 3 times ❤
this woman is such a talented actress.. i have only seen a handful of her movies and have loved her in a couple but there's something special about this performance. almost like Carrie Fisher playing Princess Leia. it goes beyond the veil or something. maybe it was the speorg note lol. somehow she managed to communicate an entire lifetime, spirit heart and soul all included, in an hour and a half.
The thing I liked best about this movie was the lighthearted joking about American vs. European culture. Let’s just agree that both cultures have their quirks and we can all be friends!
There were so many amazing performances in this movie, but I'd have to say Rachel McAdams was the best. Dam Stevens was a close second. Also I don't think she's ever been more beautiful on film.
Such a joyful and loveable movie...❤❤
