@@MrGksarathy I agree with you in regards to Ilyana. she's one of the more egregious, transparent examples of "I have one personality trait!" characters from Fire Emblem games. however, I do believe that there's a clear gap between older Fire Emblem characters--who tend to be rather more grounded and realistic, as much as that is possible in a video game fantasy setting--and newer ones, who tend to much more vivid and defined by a magnified personality trait. neither style of characterization is inherently better, but I do think there's an apparent difference between the two
Not really. There were eccentric characters often. Karel for example is just a modern FE character, he would've been hated if all his dialogue was properly voiced and given attention to.

@@nuibaba280 I do agree that older Fire Emblem titles are not totally devoid of more eccentric characters; I just think they were far less common, overall. this does, of course, have the consequence of many older Fire Emblem characters being less vibrant and perhaps more dull at first glance, as they have more of their personality unveiled in their supports than anywhere else. @@TimeturnerJ What's cute is Aimee gives him Rexcalibur so his flirtatious charm he works on her actually paid off which is amazing.
Now if only they put his games on the eshop
Soren's interactions here really exemplify the differences in personality and demeanor between older Fire Emblem characters and newer ones, eh? even when characters in the older games had idiosyncrasies or foibles that made them eccentric or unusual, they were essentially never as prominent and amplified as they are for characters in games like Awakening, Fates, and Engage
I think that's more just Soren. You can't tell me that Ilyana's whole character WASN'T just about her insatiable hunger, for example.
@@alacritical7873 Fair enough, though I still think older FE characters were largely structured around one or two core traits, even if they weren't as exaggerated. Still, Ilyana's existence, among other characters, is proof that both types of characterization have been there for a while and often coexisted.
I think it's largely just a stylistic shift as time has passed by, and I imagine that shift was accelerated by the tremendous success of Awakening
Soren has the best supports.
Lindon knows how to pull the best in soren 😆
Soren is just a real one
11:48 Love is the better word isn’t it🤨
Sounds meaningful enough for him
That was such a bs lie, lol. Literally all he says is how much he dislikes everything... except ike.
Euhm, no?
There is no evidence that Soren is gay or straight?
He is not in love with Ike
@@trueblade3636 I've seen you hate on this ship for years lol
@@user-mg1pj2vt9l your name is like a bot lol
I dont care about fictional shipping for your own pleasure. I dislike saying that Soren & Ike are in love with each other, which is never said in the games. In fact, that would be disrespectful to both gay and straight people, but that is just my opinion
By the first impression, he can come off as a stick in the mud ( the nicest way I can come up with describing his jerkassery), but as you get to know him, it's not without reason, hell I can honestly sympathize his methods, more than I care to admit. Be that as it may, this maybe the petty side of me talking, but I can't stand those who roughly speaks their mind more than me.
As a strategist, he’s just a realist. He comes of as a jerk, but he’s just direct in voicing his thoughts on things. Also, most likely because he’s a realist tactician, he doesn’t take too fondly to stupidity or foolishness. His extremely terrible and harsh childhood may have also made him a little jaded and spiteful.
The way Soren knew Alcryst would wipe floor with his a** made me smile :)
Wouldn’t go that far XD but yeah he did seem to be curious of the result
As you can see this man is shockingly based
Is it just me or are new FE designs straight out of a SquareEnix/DeviantArt fever dream?
If you played Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, you will understand Soren’s personality
Fell Xenolouge: 17:45 (Ivy)
Game relax. He's already my favorite character ever, you don't need to go this hard
Him telling Boucheron to be a NEET and then suggesting he get a person to hold his hand outside is perfection
34:43 nice reference to Oscar there
I love how aside from Timerra and Anna, Soren is about completely annoyed with everyone 😅😅
Edit: Well, Vander and sometimes Alear and Veyle too.
He has three moods: amicable, distant, and strict
He was pretty patient with Etie and Celine as well.
Soren just ruining people's lives one by one xD
5:50 Easily my favorite line from Soren in this game.
Basically Soren: if you aren’t my husband, Ike, feck off
Husband? There is no indication that they are in love lol
4:31
I think I’d also be annoyed if I were a mage called for something so silly as well.
34:44 omg oscar reference
IT'S NOT COEPOREAL YOU KNOW
2:43 confirmation that Soren didn’t find out about his true heritage.
See, it's stuff like this that I gladly benched and forgot about framme
Oh, and clanne, too. Almost forgot about him as well
I benched framme but maaan my clanne is a beast in the battle field no regrets
@@whispersweetnothingsuwu mage knight clanne kinda solos with levin sword
Soren, you're a real piece of work.........
Piece of work or not, he still is a powerful Emblem. Especially when used by Veyle.
Nah. He’s just a mood.
According to Soren's Fire Emblem Path of Radiance wiki, it says Soren didn't have a very good childhood before the game developed
Is there a reason that Alfred's lines aren't voiced, or is it because of the hacking that was done to showcase them?
From what I've seen it seems to be bugged.
I honestly bet Soren is Mauvier's canon Emblem...
Everyone talks about the Rosado C rank convo, but I found 6:58 funnier
31:18
among us
32:13 is absolutely hysterical
Rip Alfred I guess, he lost his voice
Bro really said “ “
I'm having a hard time trying to beat Sorens' paralogue chapter on hard, too many reinforcements. I'm around chapter 17, so Idk if I'm ready for it yet.
I believe the dlc paralogues scale with what chapter you’re on. So just grind until you feel you can beat it.
Thanks legend
Questions...
1. What system is this game on?
2. What's up with him? Like, why is he all glowy like Yune's medallion?
1. Nintendo Switch
2. He is an emblem in this game, essentially a spirit who aids them in battle
Why doesn't Alfred not have any voice lines?
Soren is such a massive prick
I love it
Remember people, always pay ur taxes
What happened to Alfred's voice??
I wonder why Alfred's aren't voiced..
The even more mysterious thing about it is that his mouth isn't even animated to move....I'd like to think it was just an oversight of some kind
@@arcanerite7428 I didn't even notice that part. Weird.
Soren is so sassy he made Alfred mute... jk 😅
I get that it was a bug, but when did Alfred become silent?!
33:44
Who would ever say this…?
I sense a Fun Killer
What happend to alfred voice talking!? He didn't talk!
29:16 nobody mention this line? 😂
