Everyone makes this so confusing to understand. Finally I have found this Video. This is exactly how I needed it to be explained. Thank you so much man keep up the great work
This is EXACTLY what I've been searching for. Thank you for the quick, clear, thorough walk-through. Now I can get on with it. Also, I think the looping moon is cool. I thought it was on purpose. Cheers!
THIS IS THE VIDEO. I have been dying to start using Notion for to-do lists and projects but I could not figure out how to do it how I imagined. this covers every single thing I needed to know. THANK YOU SO MUCH
Wow man. Bless your soul. I’ve been struggling to use Notion for the past 2-3 years and you’ve opened my eyes. This application is incredibly powerful. So happy I found you. Subbed and looking forward to supporting your page from here on out. Thanks again!!
@@dltnio straight to the point, and you mentioned the key items I believe most people want to see - dashboard, mastertasks, and notes. I just created my dashboard yesterday thanks to you! Keep it up!
I can agree with that bro. Watched all these notion videos with a bunch of clicks but most of the explanations/systems are just too complicated. I needed something simple and straightforward and that‘s what it is. You‘re a smart guy man, keep things simple and straightforward and hopefully your channel will grow very fast, that‘s maybe your unique selling point
Thank you for this video! I am a beginner in Notion and I want to make a task management system but these videos that I keep finding are difficult to do. But your tutorial is clear and the one I am looking for. Thank you!
I'm a new notion user, and I've been looking how to manage my tasks. Your video is absolutely incredible, definitely what I needed !! Thank you sooooo much
Thank you SO much!! Been trying to find a video this explainatory for a few hours now since I only found out about Notion today ahahah! Definitely so helpful
Man, I've been trying to get a master task list working to track tasks across multiple projects but was not understanding it. But you made it very clear. Thank you! I work for a Software company and am involved with customers, trainers, product development, implementation, management, sales - it's crazy! I now think I have Notion really humming and finding it great for personal stuff too. Thanks again!
Mate, THANK YOU! I watched Showalter's video and was like 'uh huh, that sounds cool... how do I make it though???' and then I found this video in the comments and now I'm happy 😁
@@dltnio BTW, while I've got you... the Tomorrow, Today, Next Month etc. tags... if I tagged it tomorrow, when tomorrow comes round it still says tomorrow... what's the best way to handle that? Delete yesterday's 'Today' tag, Rename the 'tomorrow' tag today, and create a new 'tomorrow' tag? Can I automate that???
@@jem7000 The best way to do it is add a "Do Date" as in when you're going to do that task, and then create a Today view that filters out everything but today's date. Refer to my date specific to do video on my channel
Of course! Yes, in a roundabout way. Make a table with your agenda and tasks, add a calendar column, then add a calendar view. Set up the dates, repeating, etc.
I am curious, why don't you use the date property for your tasks so you can see your tasks in a calendar view and it is dynamic throughout the databases? I am also curious as to why you don't use an 'areas' database for your silo select property, then relate the specific silo to the task instead of using the select property as if they were related you would be able to go between the 2 spaces quicker, see the information without the need to go back and forward, and changing the relation is dynamic between the 2 databases rather than having to go to both pages? Nice video, keep the videos coming. 😁
Great video, thanks for this! Just a question though, is there a way to link the status to the due date. The way it is set-up now you've got to update the status manually don't you?
Excellent video. Clear explanation and walk thru. Isn't there a way to make one silo list? If u want to add or remove or modify you have to change it in multiple locations.
Thank you! Yes. I could make a new database named Silos, And then add a relational database time named Silos. That’s the easiest way to do it! They get confusing, so I only use those with large scale projects 🤷🏼♂️
Great workflow, one question comes to mind, what happens when you go past the "Today" planning status. Is there a way to find out which task become overdue. Asana does this. It seems that using notion as a task manager requires you to manually change the status all the time, which fine but wondering if there isn't the habit of constantly changing the due date, you won't ever see that's it overdue and today task could pile up. And how to know which ones are of previous today and not recent todays.
Good question! It's interesting some people are extremely devoted to one or another, which I understand, but don't have the same opinion on. Notion is where I organize everything with tasks and databases, but I use Roam to write and take notes on articles. I usually take notes in Notion on books because the markdown transfers to Webflow better, and then I copy that to Roam for synthesizing and developing my own thoughts on. Does that make sense? Notion = Tasks, plans, goals; tangible things Roam = Thoughts, ideas, connections (really for the backlinking and automatic connections)
Big fan of not forcing an app to be what it's not. Right now, it's called Roam Research and it's a great application to do research in, but doesn't come close to productivity and producing as Notion does. Not yet at least.
@@dltnio Yes I find it hard trying to use media such as images within the confines of Roam but often lose the connections in Notion. Trying to figure out a way to create a workflow for schooling & my notes on various other topics & thoughts if that makes sense
@@thebadjer8249 I think the best workflow would be to create a tracking table in Notion, take notes in Roam, and link back that Roam page to Notion. The backlinking is genius in Roam and helps with concepts and notes.
@@dltnio So basically just use Notion for your tasks & to dos (actions or whatever wording you would want to use) & Roam would be more for the notes themselves? That sounds like that could be a starting pt
Very cool. I have similar setups, though I have simplified a lot over the years. I like having an inbox: literally just a blank page that is second on my Fav list so I can quickly open it up on my phone and jot down anything. For tasks, I like using Things. It's tough to have Notion tasks because there isn't a centralized "your tasks" like dropbox paper does. Would love that feature to be added.
i agree! I've recently been using Things for tasks and like it a lot, but I enjoy showing others what you can do in Notion. Also a huge fan of your work at The Futur.
