    you did a video showing that motion, but you demonstrate it around a pole.... wish I could find that video. I tried this at the range and got amazing distance. After 30 yrs of playing golf....this was the missing piece. I finally understand what the golf release feels like...it is exacting opposite of what I thought. You have to do this 90 degree hand action right from the top of your golf swing...not when you get to the ball. I love the term...flaps of the hands... easy to understand. You can flap your hands to the sky alittle more and make the ball go higher if you want. Such a wonderful and easy to understand explanation. thanks so much!!! This is the BEST video on the golf release out there.

    Saw a batting instructor showing that as a batter that he actually threw the bat back and down toward his trailing forearm with his wrists and by itself looked crazy but when he combined it with his swing toward the ball I was thinking that's what I could use in my golf swing😊

      Here’s the bottom line: His teaching works. Of all the stuff out there on golf, the only change I have worked on is to start executing the throw from the top instead of an arms pull down. When you do it correctly, the instant speed boost and increase in shot height is amazing. Best of all the club feels on plane and swinging fast, easy to let it square up. This move is a big change but it is really doing what I was doing anyway, only instead of casting out I am throwing it back and letting that angle go as I rotate. Amazing what it does.

    Can the wrist" flap" be done without the pronation/ supination move as taught by Joe Dante years ago

  • @johnmullis1156
    @johnmullis1156 Год назад +1

    Hey Steve if you flap up does it make it go farther?I was doing it and the ball was going way high but not sure if it was longer than a normal flight which was lower.

    • @davidmeeks7449
      @davidmeeks7449 Год назад

      Make sure you keep rotating so the club is moving down through impact and your low point is in front of the ball. The flap adds speed but if the ball is shooting up that means you are adding loft at impact. Your low point is too far back and your brain reacts so you hit the ball. You are close to getting real distance if you get that low point forward! Steve’s teaching is money.

    hi Steve : as usual very impressed with the quality of your teaching ! when I chip I can do it extremely well and all of a sudden I get the yips and it has a lot to do with the hands , not my position vis a vivs the ball, I do stand on my left foot well etc.... can you help with this issue

    • @Inmotion70
      @Inmotion70  Год назад

      Make sure you are using enough pivot and turn to cause the club to accelerate through the ball. The most common issue is taking too big a backswing and using only arms/wrists.

  • @forrestgardener8906

    Nice explanation Steve. The problem I have is fitting together the wrist movement in the first part of the video with with flap motion. The two movements seem contradictory.

    • @Eqnotalent
      @Eqnotalent Год назад

      That's also because there is 3 common ways to release the club, roll, throw, or redirect. Your hand, your grip and your wrist conditions needs to match your release and swing style. Most golfers has wrong mix match of them. Good golfer got it figured out by playing a lot and thru trial and error. Most important is matching your grip with your wrist condition.

      @@wmrat1969 he shown both. he is showing the rolling release at beginning and throw release half way. they each have a different wrist angle at the top and a low pt. Giles Gill has a good video on those 2. and Dan Alton has a good video on the momentum release, let the weight of the club run into back of the ball and just find your fold point.

  • @leoambtman6216
    @leoambtman6216 Год назад

    Steve. Sorry, but this video is the wrong method. You square the club face by holding your left arm against the upper body (your figure 7) and turn the shoulders. No flapping of the hands. That does not work. You will be too late.

    • @Inmotion70
      @Inmotion70  Год назад +2

      Yeah good luck with that. The clubface would be 30+ degrees open without torque from the hands. Proven science end of discussion.

    • @leoambtman6216
      @leoambtman6216 Год назад +1

      @@Inmotion70 I assume the same science as by Sasho Mackenzie. Shallow the club to get the face closing. It just does not work. And if you get it working it is at the expense of the swing speed. The only way is: use your body (connection) and not only your arms or hands. I thought you were a big advocate of this method. Left arm against upper body!

    • @Quirinus1000
      @Quirinus1000 Год назад

      @@Inmotion70 Sorry, but I agree with Leo. No active flapping. The flapping just happens, but the left shoulder slams the face shut. At the top, the right hand throws the club over the left index finger which acts like a fulcrum. Check out this baseball illustration. ruclips.net/user/shortsWwKjqJeHSHk?feature=share
