Aww that's too bad. I was there 02/2020 and loved it. Concierge was super nice and greeted us at the door everytime. Great room/location. I didn't eat there so can't say anything about the food. Hoping to take trip back to London later this year and was thinking of staying here again. Loved convenience of the location
@@TravelBlogJamie I agree. I got back to the States a few weeks before lockdown so who knows what's happened since then. I remember sitting in Lyceum Theatre watching Lion King and wondering how life was going to change because of Covid so I soaked up the atmosphere of all the different languages being spoken. Safe travels for us all.
Thanks for the brilliant hotel review Jamie - it's such a shame that the service wasn't up to the 5 star standard sold. You are absolutely right - a hotel can be as beautiful as you like, but if the service isn't there then you won't have an enjoyable stay.
Great review Jamie, shame the service was disappointing for you, I attended the building when it was a dental college back in the late 70s and was thinking of an overnight stay but may just go for an afternoon tea instead..
I went there last week the first room smelled awful and the safebox was broken.. The second room smelled better but the hairdryer was broken it sounded like it was about to explode... The food tasted like lip balm.. I would rate it a 0 star..
All fur coat and no knickers springs to mind here. Fabulous location, The Bridge theatre is a favourite of mine and I love the area. The building and the decor look impressive but if customer service doesn't match it's not 5*. The breakfast needs some serious attention. Life's too short to waste on substandard hotels, I won't be booking.
Ha! Great minds: I was going to say all fur coat and no knickers but though RUclips might censor me 😂 Agreed about customer service and breakfast: needs attention!
Our 5 star bubble has burst. Find out with this luxury hotel didn't meet the mark. Live chat on Saturday at 8.45am! See you there!

Perhaps staff is new and much more inexperienced at the moment - we wouldn’t rush back in spite of the wonderful location but pleased you enjoyed

@@annettefarrell2093 oh that reminds me; the Lion King was the first show we saw as restrictions were eased here - the atmosphere was crazy good!

Very very true and wise words! Service can make or break a stay even in a hotel as beautiful as this

Perhaps it had improved - it wasn’t long after the lock downs
Staying in the Legacy suite, just realised it's 3x bedrooms when there is just two of us. I hope the experience is better than yours x
I’m sure things have improved since we went! Enjoy 😊

Whilst I wasn’t a fan, as per this video, it wasn’t a zero star experience
@@TravelBlogJamie true but this is 2024 ur experience was in 2022
@@Cinnamorolls-diary what did they do for you when you complained? If I was giving somewhere zero stars I’d be at reception and expecting money back
@@TravelBlogJamie that’s what I asked but they said no…
Looked beautiful but bad service would put us off, especially a 5* with 5* prices.
Exactly this!
A definite Fail for LaLit; thanks for being so objective!
Thank you and you’re welcome
