Man this was a gem. I took my mower in as I couldn’t figure out the issue. The told me they had to adjust my clutch air gap. I had never heard of this thank u brother! I will know the next time
"can't trust em" !! took it in for an engine seal oil leak, $600, 2 months later still leaking, and to boot they didn't torque the engine to the frame and holes were oblong from being wollered out, doing my own work now
I got a toro titan hd 48 pto engages fine but bogs when you go to cut also notice if you have the deck all the way up it runs okay but i drop the deck and it starts to lose power have replaced the belt a few times
I’d load check the coils and check for good spark if it runs good no load and will pull the blades sitting still you may have a cracked coil/ bad coil that’s firing under light load but can’t handle the additional fuel/load on the spark plug
Do I need to check the one on my Exmark vantage? I have never messed with it but it has over 1300 hours on it. Do you know if the exmark are the same way? Thanks!
Would the air gap being off be a reason for the blades not to engage? I am trying to help my mom figure out why her blades stopped engaging. She said when she turns them on she hears like and air or woosh sound. She just spent a load of money fixing the hydraulics and just can sink any more money into the thing. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! It is a Turf Tiger
Those are a little more complicated with the drive shaft and gear box. But check the belts and check the clutch air gap and your normal voltages. I have videos for all of that.
If the clutch checks good make sure you getting proper voltage from the switch if all that checks good it’s going to be a belt/ driveshaft or gear box issues. There’s one belt on the back and one on the deck for those.
I’m new to working on this type of equipment. I’ve got a 1st gen scag v ride. And sometimes the blades take quite a bit of time to engage. Would this be the place to start?
Hey brother I got a 2016 tiger cat with the 27ho kohler and my pto switch keep going out I went through 3 switches in 4 days literally and my fuses are getting really hot
Thanks for the no nonsense, straight to the point video.
Thank you for the comment. Glad to help and hope you come back to watch future videos.

That’s unfortunate. Some people should just put the tools down.
Wow,,thank for that. Great video man.
No worries. Glad to help!
Question for you so how to tell if it’s actually bad or just the pto clutch just need to be adjusted
Give me about an hour and I’ll make you a full video of how to check the clutch and the pto wiring system.

It's a 24 HP I'm not a 100% sure I can check and get back with you

I don’t know for certain off the top of my head, but from what I’m seeing research wise the vantages use a non-adjustable pto clutch.

Checking the voltage to the clutch, the ohms on the clutch and the adjustment but mostly it’s the adjustment.
Thanks
Thank you
