Thanks for the video! In 2003 I had the Turf Tiger 60", I really don't recall having many issues with it and I'm 6'2 @230lbs. For the last six years I've been running a Hustler Hyperdrive 60" and I hands-down prefer it in every way to the Turf Tiger. I don't know how it stacks up to the Exmark but I will say it's been pretty much trouble free with the exception of a sticking choke cable that I replaced. It hugs slopes like nobody's business, smooth control sticks, very comfortable and it's crazy fast. I would like to demo a comparable Exmark!
I have been a hard core SCAG guy for 20 years. After the last walk behind that I had repetitive brake issues and a cracked frame that I had to pay 90% of the cost I am changing. I was considering a gravely and lost interest quickly. After a few reviews and your comparison I am going with an ex mark. You took a lot of time to do the comparison between the scag and exmark and it was helpful. I went with a gravely 152 pro turn. When I look at my scag I see a couple really annoying things. When you mentioned about the welding the nut on top I didn’t understand what you were talking about until I remember changing my blades and the bitch of trying hold the blade underneath and then trying to put the nut on top to secure it. With my gravely I can blow the grass right through the deck and not have tons of grass build up because of the pulley guards that actually build grass up that caused me to have belt jumps in the past. The cut probably the same. Power and sped is good. I also found on my scag because of what maybe I feel is poor engineering is that the engine area is so tight the grass build up and is difficult to blow out. Maybe just me. I can see gravely and exmark spent money on quality and maybe scag is more for show. Well safe cutting to you and thanks again.
Yes, great observations. And I had a lot of people like I'm just telling a lie I mean everything I said in the video are things that bothered me about the scag.
The neighbor across the street from me has the Pro Turn, at 150 hours the spindles are having to be replaced and the seat broke. They all have problems.
Love the Channel and content I run 2 Exmark's and one Scag love them all but wish I would have brought the third mower as exmark instead of scag both are great cutting machines.
The ex mark seat, allows for expansion. The seat, not everyone is six feet tall, you have the Drag for vertically challenged skinny people, and ExMark is for your slightly taller and heavier operator.
Both seem to collect grass clippings, just in different places. My TT with a Kohler is easy to change oil. I am 6ft 3 and put my feet out on the foot rest at the front, i never sit flat footed lots of room. Just personal taste with choices. I have cut alot of wet grass and nothing cuts that like my TT. Enjoy your machine
Totally agree with everything you say about the scag, I was really on the fence about a new TT2. Ive actually done a lot of research on every commercial zero turn mower out there and with what you like in a zero turn is exactly what I look for, and if your like me there’s only about 3 out there and that’s Exmark, Hustsler Hyperforce, and the Dixie Chopper. Maybe Jon Deere, we all know every commercial zero turn has to be unique and to do that we really should put them in the right category for their prospective differences. I like how you have your likes because they’re a lot like mine. You know what that say about honesty, keep it up!!!!!!
I'm sure this isn't his first rodeo at changing blades but why did he waste 1min 30 secs positioning the jack on the scag? 6:23.7 for the scag 4:48.9 for the ex . now subtract that wasted time to the scag and you get 4:53.7
are you trying to say its easier to change scag blades than Exmark ? Really man ? its not even close and anyone with any common sense can see that the Scag is a much more pain to change !! geez man!
@@rayrayslawnlandscape2008 Did you not read what i wrote? Im not trying to argue here i just said you took over a minute and half fiddling around positiong the jack .
Can’t you just hit an impact on the top bolts on a scag and the bolt an blades drop out the bottom, then just stick bolt back in with blade an hit it with impact? Shouldn’t it take like 2-3 minutes doing it that way?
@@rayrayslawnlandscape2008 I do it on my Tiger Cat 2 just fine 🤷🏻♂️. Unless it’s a slightly different setup. I don’t own a Turf Tiger so idk but I just lift the mower. Pop the top nuts with impact, drop the blades out bottom, put the spacer an blades on the bolt, then stick it back through the spindle. Sometimes I gotta use a short stubby wrench to hold a little back up pressure but some times it just grips and tightens. I do it pretty dang quick. If I didn’t have a Scag I would own an eXmark. In my opinion those are the best two machines on the market. I enjoy watching your videos, motivates me to grow my side hustle some more. 🤙
I don’t want to sit on a La-Z-Boy and then go home and sit on a La-Z-Boy. I want to feel like I’ve worked a little bit. I love my Scag just bought my second one. It’s a walk behind 52 inch great for small yards and banks.
Good thing cause Scag is is the most uncomfortable mower I ever owned. I cut a lot of big acre sites I wouldn't take a scag walk behind if you gave it to me
Lol love this video, I've been using exmark X series since 2010 , I would never change mower brands after seeing this. I have always wondered the difference between scag and exmark. You answered all my questions. Great video 📹 👍
Thanks man - I hated that scag! I have been running the exmarks since 2009. I tried the scag cause of the avability at the time. I did a video right after I got the Scag too check it out. ruclips.net/video/ZRuQaxFB0Fk/видео.html
I’m confused my old boss has two of those exact mowers and he’s around 6 foot 3/300 pounds his seat scoots way back so maybe yours just don’t adjust? Because it’s made for large people I can assure you witnessing it firsthand. He fits fine.
Dude, I've been doing this 17 years and if you look at some of the comments it's aparent 6 foot or taller. The handles hit their knees. I showed you on the video I can't really debate it.I'm showing you.Have you ever been on an ex mart laser z x series
I’ve run exmark for years and ran Scag for about 5. I still own my original lazer z a 2007 still runs and cuts. With Scag I had, broken frames, electrical problems, bearings going out a lot. Way more maintenance to the Scag too. The only thing the Scag wins with is bushhogging(which is for a tractor) and stripping. Exmark all the way commercial you won’t convince me otherwise. I bought and paid for 10-20 mowers can’t prove to me otherwise. 200-300 acres per week.
Damm I want to buy ur scag mines fine without tweel s I just noticed Grass build up by tires lol love ur video s glad I didn't get tweel s was about to heard they don't like towing aerater s
Oh the tweels are the best thing ever. I have actually pulled another another mower with other mower running with blades spinning with the tweels on both mowers and actually cut 8 acres like that. It's one of my shorts called "my answer to the labor shortage"
Yea somehow IV only had a couple flats on mower just lucky I Carry fix a flat and Wawa gas station has free air machine s low on money currently or id get scag from u no problem just halfway poor currently love video s may get more in hauling and junk removal got a new 16 foot trailer other day
Yo I’m 12 years old I’ve been mowing I started my parents lawn when I was 5 when I turned 9 I got some. Properties. I bought a the turf tiger 2 not even 20 hours on it I traded it in for and exmark lazer z the scag is just not good enough the exmark shines for I just bought a John Deere z970r 60 recommend you try and get a demo on it if you can’t it’s a really good mower I think the exmark is just a little bit better but the Deere is hands down better then the scag
Spitting the facts as you see them Ray!!... Got the evidence in front of you. I can only speak to one thing right now and that is the need for an additional spring to assist with the deck. My VRide 2 deck is real heavy. I could only compare to my JD ZTrak I have and the QuikTrak I had. I need to time myself on the blades next tine with the VRide vs the Ztrak. My Ztrak is set up similar to the ExMark with the tanks and framing, and I don't have an issue with a lot of grass build up by the seat or around the engine...just got to keep the deck blown off on occasion. Keep getting it brother!!
When i bought the Scag I needed a 52 inch with a 29hp or more. Exmark did not offer that- It was 25 hp in the e series or the S series (smaller hydro pumps as well) I wanted a exmark lazer Z X series with 52 inch and the Kawasaki 921 on it. Scag had a TT2 with 52 and a 31 vanguard on it with the big pumps so i got that. I was extremely disappointed from the very start. I tried to trade it back in when it only had 12 hrs on it and they would only give me $9k on a trade in.. Dealer told me to put 500-600 hrs on it and i would get $8500 on a trade in so thats how it went down. I will NEVER buy another Scag again - I dodge a bullet on that - Was so grateful to get $8500 on it to get the new exmark lazer Z xseries 29hp kawi
you always have your legs extended out to keep your feet on the foot height adjust on the cheetah thats what i do i have like 2800 hours on mine into it never even thought of this
Husqvarna not really known for their mowers. They're more known for their chainsaws. They make a top chainsaw. I've never used their mowers. So I can't really comment on how good their mowers are. Have you ever ran a exmark laser z X series? or a Scag Tuf tiger 2 These mowers are the best mowers on the market.
@rayrayslawnlandscape2008 Scag's are pain the butt to work on. Exmark's hydraulics to me are too jerky and after just a few years the safety switch under the seat goes bad. Check out the FX series Z560LS Husqvarna zero turn. Husqvarna commercial zero turns are built like tanks are great at cutting and stripe really nice.
@gregsatterly9412 Wow I got 4 exmarks lazer z X SERIES . 1 with 3600 hrs 1 with 3100 hrs 1 with 1200 hrs 1 with 100 hrs and have never had any seat switch issues- hydro issues of any kind. They are just strait money makers never down
Oh man - So i got a Lazer Z Xseries from 2014- 3500 hrs on it - Never had one issue with Spindles- Sealed bearings never need grease. I got a 2019 Exmark lazer Z Xseries 2600 hrs on it never had any issue with spindles. The sealed bearings are the only way to go...
I guess I got long arm s not a real big deal changing blades trik is using trailer ramps and ropes IDK just saying I gotta a turf tracer been sitting for ten years want to get it refurbished just like sitting on tractors cus we bot twenty lol
I use the trailer ramps all the time just not in the video. I couldn't imagine having to have a rope just to change the blades on a mower. what a hassle
The average height for American men is 5 feet, 9 inches. So by that quick google your Exmark is not for me. I think it would be simple to modify the steering arms on both mowers to make them more comfortable. All mowers have issues. I think dealer support is more important for whatever mower you buy if you buy new. I don't buy new so I am good with the scags I own.
Great job showing and telling, I’ll come and buy that scag I need a number two mower. For when my number one mowers down, so no hurry just say when. I am the East Tennessee man , next to this big hill that goes to N,C, well let me know have a good one see ya bye.
Happy 4TH Ray! Thanks for taking the time to make these vids. I've never had an Exmark but the part about the sticker vs plasma cutting is hilarious. Looks over funtionality.
when someone says bad things about a scag it’s like you talked shit about their momma. Well f em and again you brought some thought to my purchase. Thanks
I’m too smart to ever buy an Exmark! I work in a very very big city, and I run into people with busted Exmarks out in the field. They should be called MisMark, cuz they missed the mark!
@mossberg6163 Oh I get it- So you're one of them guys that makes BOLD statements, and you don't even have any experience with said machine! It really makes you look foolish given such bold opinions And you have no experience with the machine. There are scaggs broke down all over the place too i'm sure! Remember Exmark lazer Z X Series. That's like me telling a guy how to run a bobcat And i've never operated one! do you hear yourself. Come on man
The way you defend Exmark, you probably would’ve bought a Yugo car back in the day. And defend it too. Why would I waste money on a mower with a bad reputation? Cushy arm rest , lmao! Next you’ll want air conditioning on the Exmark. Lmfao! 😆😂🤣
You can talk about seat comfort, blade changing, and all that non sense. But the Scag Turf Tiger Rules with the shaft drive. You can also flip the long bolts for the blades, without having to dirt dob some "welds". Just be sure and use lock washers behind the nut . Turf Tiger has steel fenders, not bs plastic. And anybody who's concerned about grass coming thru the fender well, better not cut grass on windy days. Turf Tiger has a steel gas tank, not pansy plastic. Exmark would make a great boat anchor though.
It's funny You say all that! But I got an eXmark from 2014. I got 1 from 2019 With a plastic gas tank and never have one issue! My bobcat has a plastic gas tank. I don't know if you knew this, but plastic don't rust..
Well, if you look at the engineering of the drive shaft, the drive shaft still turns a belt. So you still have a belt that will break. You must be a scag guy and never had an exmark. The drive shaft is just another freaking grease port.
plastic Fendors ? oh you mean the covers that go over the spindals? I take them off every mower anyway.. Your one of them, guys that can't look in the mirror And say yeah you know that is a bad design. You're one of them guys that can't handle the truth.. You're a follower not a leader. Get some cahones about yourself, Quit being such a yes man.
Right, I have four exmarks machines. one of them has 3500 hrs still running. 2500 on another one. I have never had any issue with any plastic part !one mower I have had since 2014. Too much steel on a lawn mower is not good. It makes it too heavy and then you just sink.
exmark lol... Scag beats it in every single metric down here in FL, especially in cut quality. Just a looking at the condition of those machines tells me what I need know.
What metrics are u talking about? The condition of these machines ? Not sure what that means but ok - After all they are lawn mowers and i know you keep yours squeaky clean looking all pretty - my machines are earners period.. You prolly never even owned a exmark lazer z X series. Ignorant Folks always coming in the comments making comments about things they know nothing about..Dont show everyone how ignorant you are. Im showing you the difference bro ! SHOW ME DIFFERENT-Show me what "metric" your talking about. My metric is i spend $18k on mower make $220k off that mower and do it again! Pretty simple really! Dont step to a strait G like me with all that talk - at least im SHOWING you. You on the other hand are just another looser in the comments
I tried to like scag, but im so tall they always felt like a clown car. I buy toro/grasshopper products and happy with them. Scag is goofy, with a cult following.
And three years Scag , only I blow my mower off after every job or every few jobs and never have a problem with grass. I don’t understand this video take that hat off. Lol
And you can just use the impact on the top bolts and then they come right off but compared to the exmark they're more difficult to remove but the Scag will out strip anything on the market
I know you make money with them like I do mine but damn you don't take care of them. Nasty as H$$$. Can also see they are not blown off after each use. You gonna have to pay someone to take any of them mowers
funny u say that bruh! the dealer giving Me $8500 for my scag on trade in for a new exmark. you got too much time on your hands if u blow mower off after every 60 dollar cut. Get you some more customers. I make money with my mowers. I'm not in the mower clean business. I'm in the money making business. they don't last longer because they're clean! mowers cost $15k and I make 150k with each one rather its clean or dirty!

And you should probably not mow for a living. Seems like it’s too much trouble for you sir you’re looking for a desk job where you can be comfortable all day😂😂

I’ve ridden scag with velke and Exmark lazer, both are rough compared to Bobcat zero turn. Bobcat Was butter smooth
@@Genetics1 No argument, it's just so obviously 2 different mowers and 1's easier to change than the other. It's really not a debate
Can’t you just hit an impact on the top bolts on a scag and the bolt an blades drop out the bottom, then just stick bolt back in with blade an hit it with impact? Shouldn’t it take like 2-3 minutes doing it that way?
Ok - but you still have to put them back in- Do that one time then you will see
@@rayrayslawnlandscape2008 I do it on my Tiger Cat 2 just fine 🤷🏻♂️.
I did a video right after I got the Scag too check it out. ruclips.net/video/ZRuQaxFB0Fk/видео.html
really didn't, Scag>>>>>glorified Toro
@@jasonmichel1946 Exmark is owned by Toro, and both of them are using transmissions or Hydro that started out in Scags
I will say you take the 4 bolts off the panel where the PTO and throttle is on the exmark. open that up and there will be grass in there. Just saying.
yea that's true. usually not a lot and it's never wet

Wow I got one that i've had for twelve years three thousand hours still running
I have had 2 exmark radius x and I love them and will never buy anything else.
exmark makes a GREAT product.
Thanks for giving this real world review
Thanks buddy
Damm I want to buy ur scag mines fine without tweel s I just noticed Grass build up by tires lol love ur video s glad I didn't get tweel s was about to heard they don't like towing aerater s
Oh the tweels are the best thing ever. I have actually pulled another another mower with other mower running with blades spinning with the tweels on both mowers and actually cut 8 acres like that. It's one of my shorts
called "my answer to the labor shortage"
Yea somehow IV only had a couple flats on mower just lucky I Carry fix a flat and Wawa gas station has free air machine s low on money currently or id get scag from u no problem just halfway poor currently love video s may get more in hauling and junk removal got a new 16 foot trailer other day
Front always got solid tires don't do random shit yards often lol just suburbs biweekly corner lots
@aosaos6821 Every time I pull up to a gas station with air- they never work!😎😎
Changing the blades on a scag in a night mare. I work at a mower shop part time and if we didn't work on scags we wouldn't have a job.
i got rid of mine
So xmark is for tall fat people and scag is for short skinny people…😂
Yo I’m 12 years old I’ve been mowing I started my parents lawn when I was 5 when I turned 9 I got some.
@LLeiteRltr I never did like the scag from day one. I don't feel like it's nearly as spacious or comfy and it Def throws the grass further
@@rayrayslawnlandscape2008 did you measure the openings of the TT and the Exmark?
@chuckgilbert2035 no but the scag opening is much wider
@@rayrayslawnlandscape2008 That is why the grass goes further, if it is not wet. I just want the grass to be dissipated.
Were do you buy your mower blades and what kind do you run on your exmark
I always get the high lift blades and i buy them buy them by the box.

Why did you switch from exmark to scag if you love the exmark so much? Curious?
Oil change on my Exmark easy. I don't have top of line mower jus 14:49 t a Pioneer Take care
Ain’t talking about your old lady. Y’all man it’s just equipment.
How often do you sharpen your blades.
Never! I change then out.
I get blades for about eight dollars each
Talk about the 60 inch turf tracer, it will hold any hill side
I have never own a turf tracer before
you always have your legs extended out to keep your feet on the foot height adjust on the cheetah thats what i do i have like 2800 hours on mine into it never even thought of this
The same as the lazer z - foot pedal a must
I run Husqvarna. I just bought the new 38 horsepower Husqvarna 60". Its a beast. I am not an Exmark or Skag fan at all.
Why are you not an exmark or scag fan?
@rayrayslawnlandscape2008 Scag's are pain the butt to work on. Exmark's hydraulics to me are too jerky and after just a few years the safety switch under the seat goes bad. Check out the FX series Z560LS Husqvarna zero turn. Husqvarna commercial zero turns are built like tanks are great at cutting and stripe really nice.
@gregsatterly9412
Wow I got 4 exmarks lazer z X SERIES .
1 with 3600 hrs
1 with 3100 hrs
1 with 1200 hrs
1 with 100 hrs and have never had any seat switch issues- hydro issues of any kind. They are just strait money makers never down
@gregsatterly9412 what's the price point
How about blade spindle bearing life?
Oh man -
So i got a Lazer Z Xseries from 2014- 3500 hrs on it - Never had one issue with Spindles- Sealed bearings never need grease.
I got a 2019 Exmark lazer Z Xseries 2600 hrs on it never had any issue with spindles. The sealed bearings are the only way to go...
I have a turf trace approaching 4000 hours on original spindle bearings
@chuckgilbert2035 I had my turf tiger 2 handles as high as they would go
Great job showing and telling, I’ll come and buy that scag I need a number two mower. For when my number one mowers down, so no hurry just say when. I am the East Tennessee man , next to this big hill that goes to N,C, well let me know have a good one see ya bye.

Not sure if anyone knows but Exmark is a division of the TORO Company.
DLT lawncare youtube channle recently compared a scag vride 2 vs the Toro Grandstand. Scag wins according to Dr. Real.
I saw that- I don't run stand on mowers

I’m too smart to ever buy an Exmark! I work in a very very big city, and I run into people with busted Exmarks out in the field. They should be called MisMark, cuz they missed the mark!
@mossberg6163
Oh I get it- So you're one of them guys that makes BOLD statements, and you don't even have any experience with said machine! It really makes you look foolish given such bold opinions And you have no experience with the machine. There are scaggs broke down all over the place too i'm sure! Remember Exmark lazer Z
X Series.
Lmfao! 😆😂🤣
@mossberg6163 Yeah, air conditioner on a lawn mower would be really sweet. I'm a baller though I aint on mama's couch.

Not interested in any commercial equipment that has large amounts of plastic on it.
Right, I have four exmarks machines.
one of them has 3500 hrs still running.
2500 on another one.
I have never had any issue with any plastic part !one mower I have had since 2014.
Too much steel on a lawn mower is not good. It makes it too heavy and then you just sink.
It's not like the deck is plastic only thing plastic is the side piece cup holder. And the gas tank. All mowers have a plastic gas tank.
Oh and FYI the scag mower is metal junk..
I hated the scag. I would get a ferris before I got a scag. But all the mowers are gonna have plastic dude
Put your legs out against the foot, that’s why it’s there
That mower was by far the worst mower I've ever had. It's trash compared to an exmark. It's not even in the top five mowers to me
I keep my leg on the foot deck pedal.
exmark lol... Scag beats it in every single metric down here in FL, especially in cut quality. Just a looking at the condition of those machines tells me what I need know.

Both mowers are good but I prefer the Scag they will out strip anything on the market
And you can just use the impact on the top bolts and then they come right off but compared to the exmark they're more difficult to remove but the Scag will out strip anything on the market
Yes they do stripe that fescue nice .
I don't do any fescue yards The exmark is a lot more comfortable and cuts just as nice on all the bermuda I cut
I know you make money with them like I do mine but damn you don't take care of them. Nasty as H$$$. Can also see they are not blown off after each use. You gonna have to pay someone to take any of them mowers
