    I originally wanted to keep my youtube content to one channel, but I think this will be better overall. There is a very wide range of topics I want to cover but since the majority of the subscribers on this channel are from the RUclips videos, I did not want to make everyone opt in to getting useless content.
    I won't be deleting my old videos but I will be integrating new playlists with them so that everything seamlessly transitions. This makes it less stressful for me since I can now make content I want and not worry about decreasing views on other topics for no reason.

    I like this move - that's actually what led me to breaking off my rendering channel from my SketchUp channel, and I still feel like I'm covering too many programs there. Covering too many things on one channel definitely makes it a little harder to attract as many people - good luck with it! :)

      I always thought that it was weird why you split into all of your different accounts, as I thought it would mean TheSketchupEssentials would have more subscribers overall but I now realize that is not the case. All of the topics that I am trying to break into are just clogging up timelines and stopping other impressions from happening.
      I appreciate the good luck! I'm sure it will be slower for awhile but I feel I have far more flexibility now.

      @@LuminousLabs Yep exactly - the people that came for SketchUp tutorials didn't care about the rendering tutorials. The people that wanted rendering tutorials didn't really care about the SketchUp tutorials. The people that want Blender don't care about SketchUp.
      Oddly enough, covering more material on the channel was actually driving new subs away. By breaking it out by topic, people are actually MORE likely to subscribe because they know that they're going to be getting what they want in the future.
      RUclips is weird ;p

      @@Thesketchupessentials Yeah I didn't think that would be the case but you hit it right on the head. Personally I find it strange that RUclips doesn't have a "community" feature where you can opt in to various topics the channel owner sets up.

    I like this idea and looking forward to the d5 stuff. I’ve been using it on the side for a while now. Although it has a few quirks it does produce clean renderings. Also I like the brighter logo pink but the shaded areas get slightly lost. But that might be what you going for. Overall keep up the good content.

    • @LuminousLabs
      @LuminousLabs  3 года назад

      I may clean up the other logos. It is supposed to look more like this one but I did it fairly quick in photoshop. D5 can definitely do some great renders. I personally like it more for interiors at the moment than exteriors but it is a neat workflow!

    The colors are quite fine. I can’t wait for the content for Blender and D5. Good luck

      I filmed a mini-series for the Blender one that is a beginner tutorial! I am going to be posting it tomorrow! As for D5 I am probably going to do a scene and see how it all comes out!

      I mean, there are a lot of canals that cover beginner steps in Blender, and there are few that deal with advanced exterior modeling, houses with sloping roofs for example.

    You are porbably already working on this, but I suggest adding the videos you have made onto their respective channels. That way, everything you have done can be found in the respective channels making it easier for people to continue and you won't have to rebuild your content. If you're already doing this then just ignore.

    • @LuminousLabs
      @LuminousLabs  3 года назад

      I am going to add them all into playlists so finding them shouldn't be an issue, but I can't actually remove all of them and reupload them to the channels, it would tank the other channels and some of the other videos still have a fair amount of people watching them which would be lost if I removed them.
      I wanted to make this change now but it is going to more of a moving forward change. As mentioned I am going to be combining my playlists across channels so it shouldn't be too much of an issue!
      I appreciate the comment!

    Hi. I have a question. The single biggest problem I have with Archvis rendering in Lumion is the ability to switch off/the terrain. This is especially a problem with reflections in windows or through glass balustrades. It is especially annoying when I want realistic reflections. Any suggestions would be terrific.

    • @LuminousLabs
      @LuminousLabs  3 года назад +1

      Have you ever tried dropping a reflection control in? I think it automatically does this when you go into camera mode but by dropping one you can control reflections a bit better. When you say turn off terrain I am assuming you mean the big green landscape is visible in your windows or something along those lines?

    • @daCAT-100mil-Baby
      @daCAT-100mil-Baby 3 года назад

      @@LuminousLabs Thanks for the reply. Yes, the problem is having large green horizon reflections. I find using depth of field and texture filter during renders lets me cheat, but my life would be a hell of a lot easier if the entire terrain/landscape could be ignored/transparent (like in Vray)

      @@daCAT-100mil-Baby What I recommend you do is drop an "HDRI" sphere into the scene. What this sphere does is it allows light to pass through it into the sphere but the camera cannot see out of it. If you do not want to see any of the ball at all you can just use a curved plane like in this video!
      ruclips.net/video/J7NqvPWbmy8/видео.html&ab_channel=LuminousLabs
      This is a very old video of mine but all of the resources you need should be in the description :)

    • @crisschan2463
      @crisschan2463 3 года назад

      @@daCAT-100mil-Baby the HDRI sphere tech is really good and handy (also not taking much of performance)
      You can also use material id in lumion (though not always reliable) and i just manually apply some fake reflections in photoshop
