- This week Joel shows us continuous ring light HDR in the studio. Joel brings in Jessica Mion to recreate a portrait he did of Alexander Christensen. Using bracketed images, a bit of crafty post production work, and a large ring light- Joel creates some amazing images. HDR, (High Dynamic Range) images, especially portraits, have such a unique look and with advancements in post production, have become wildly popular.
Check out this week's episode to watch Joel and Jessica create some awesome photos!

Again, the same question: why risk 3 individual exposures with a "live" subject, instead of creating 3 (or more) exposure files from one RAW? Please explain?

awwwwsome tutorial video, please keep them coming !!!
I just bought in Milan....a ring light Walimex 65w.....fantastic!!
Hi, May I know how the photographer take 3 continuous shoot with different shutter speed? I'm using D5100, don't know is it possible to do the same thing
+Matt Yc Look for a "bracket" setting on your camera.
Thanks! will definitely try this soon! =D
what company the ring come from thx
What's the outter or inner diameter of this ring?
so is this light florescent or led can some one help me i want to get one but i need to know if florescent will work
the one he is using is a fluorescent. but there is an led version from ephoto you can find on amazon that has great reviews.
Have u ever used one of these before
And thank you are u a photographer
ive never used it but i ordered the led one from amazon. ill post a review of it in january once i get to use it for a project. i do videos but i got this to take headshots with.
The picture looks over exposed :/
I thought the same...BUT... that is the new look people like...overexpose =D go figure! =D I guess is the phone photography changing the game. no shadows. just my 2 cents =D
I agree.
haters are ashole
nice video but you talk too much :(
Lol circular diameter
use a sony camera, you will not need HDR. Dynamic range is awesome.
looks over exposed.
I donť get the point of doing this. If you are in control of light you should not have problem with dynamic range of the camera. HDR is used to get a detail in areas where you have too much light or darkness in one frame. In a portrait you should get it right straight in your camera as you are shooting. THIS IS NON SENSE!! CONTROL THE LIGHT AND YOU DONT NEED HDR!!
Antonín Lavrenčík obviously he is getting good results.
too much talking
man if you speak all time you're boring, you don't even show how to use the 3 images in post production..
lol. yeah do a little research. not hard.
she looks completely washed out lol
Pretentious or what? All that oh so clever talking not directly to the camera, and sadly the other commentators are correct in that he should be shooting in RAW and making adjustments later. Certainly not HDR and wasting time with multiple exposures.
Not sure what you mean.
Pretentious?
How is this not HDR?
