Freezing an athlete mid-action can be a lot pretty hard. As Joel discovered when doing some of his first full movement action shots, anything below 1/5000th of a second was leaving ghosting on the image and just wasn't as sharp as it could be. So in order to avoid that, he shoots with a thyristor flash head. This faster burst of light freezes the image as if they were never moving at all.
This week Joel brings James Townsend back into the studio to freeze some Mixed Martial Arts for your visual pleasure. The results, even straight out of the camera are nothing short of impressive. Check out this weeks LitUp and be amazed by what you see.
