    Can you please please do an updated version of this? I used the Nyx for years but it’s discontinued. The Boing is discontinued too. 🤕. Like you I have dry under eyes. But I’m so Fair 90% are too dark so I would be grateful for more options.

    Thanks for well researched and presented videos like this one!
    I discovered your channel less than a week ago and have since watched and
    thoroughly enjoyed quite a few of them. You provide a lot of inspiration and valuable
    information for anyone really, but definitely for women in their early forties - thanks again for that! I will continue watching for sure!

    My new go to corrector is the Maybelline Master Color Corrector.. in apricot. Very lightweight and blend out easy. Easy to conceal as well.

    Very informative video! I suffer from a chronic illness and it shows very much under my eyes. 🙁 I have thought about correctors but frankly become overwhelmed by the variety of colors and brands. I appreciate you breaking it down for us! I will get the Boing this week!
    God bless 🌸🌸❤️

    Stephanie, I have similar problems with dark circles, fine lines that I don't want to accentuate (I'm 51) and overall oily skin. My experience with correctors and concealers has been pretty much the same as yours. The only correctors you haven't mentioned that I have had success with are the Jane Iredale Enlighten Concealer (it's really a corrector to use under concealer) which I find to be the best for smoothing and hydrating as it's quite balm-like although not 100% opaque (I use #2), and the Napoleon Perdis The One Concealer (again, a corrector not a concealer) which I find to be very much like Erase Paste in formula but the colour is slightly brighter and peachier. My skin tone is light-medium neutral but my dark circles are a lot darker than yours.

    Benefit Boeing Brightener is NOT the same formula with Erase and Paste. It is much drier, not as emolient as Erase and Paste. I saw Emily Noel's claiming, but they are not the same. I have them both, I believe Benefit made a big mistake but discontinuing the Erase and Paste.

    As you can probably tell by my pic...I am light like you...maybe a little lighter (because of the shades you mention you wear in foundation and concealer...you actually look as light as I am which is very fair). I am neutral and still need to get my shades done at Sephora. I too, was disappointed in the Sephora corrector...dry, dry, dry, and I, too, am really dry under the eyes. Now, for me, the Bobbi Brown is creamy enough...sometimes too slippy (maybe you don't slather on eye cream like I do ;). The trouble with the BB is that it no longer corrects where I need it. I've always used Light Bisque. I tried the light peach in a Sephora in a JC Penney and it really did nothing, so I'm still on the hunt. JUST concealing doesn't work, so I keep on looking. I think Clarins used to have a click pen that was really pink and that looked pretty good. Also, Senna has a concealer that comes in MANY shades (including shades that correct which is sometimes all I need) and I love the texture of their "Totally Transforming Concealer". We're all different, I guess, and you just have to look until you find "The One" that works for you.

    I just purchased the Pixy peach corrector and waiting for it's arrival. One trick I learned recently from Wayne Goss is to add a very small amount of oil I use Aragon oil under the eye about 1 minute before applying the product. It works beautifully! I Also apply 1 drop to my foundation and what a difference it is making. I'm 54 years young but spent way to much time tanning and living on Maui and this is really creating a challenge to get my skin looking younger. Hopefully the Pixy will work for me but if not I'll be trying the ones you recommend. Great advice! Thank you! 💋

    I have very dry under eyes and pretty dark circles. The Pixi works great for me once I work a bit of marula oil into that area. You can probably use any number of oils in the same way. I had the same experience with the yellow corrector. Thought it was what I needed but was never happy with the result.

    So glad you confirmed the NYX corrector, which is the one I've been using. I'm going to have to bite the bullet and buy the Benefit or Tarte when I run out. Renee, I show the MAC Prep and Prime towards the beginning right after the Becca. Using a brightening corrector like one of those two, in the manner like I talked about in the video...*after* you've used a concealing corrector and then going in with the brightener JUST in the darkest most sunken part...can help the appearance. Sometimes the brightening correctors reflect flash photography though, so watch out for that. Hope that helps!

      The Armani corrector really works well for me. Another benefit (in my opinion) is that it is not an emollient corrector. The erase paste made my mascara slide right off. It’s possible I wasn’t setting well enough though... good luck in your search 😉

    Having bags under my eyes, I've realized that any " brightening" products make my bags look puffier. I use the UD corrector in peach, then a concealer that is the exact match or even a touch darker to help the bags recede. It's all about finding what works for you. I do like the Bobbi Brown too, but it seems to slip around. Have you tried adding a touch of oil in your dry areas? I haven't yet, but it's intriguing 🤔

    • @StephanieMarie
      @StephanieMarie  7 лет назад +1

    I wanna try the Tarte one, but it is not sold here. Huhu. As for the Benefit boi-ing brightening concealer, I prefer the older erase paste. I find the new one less creamer or less thicker. Before, I can use it stand alone to cover my dark circle. Now, it is not enough. I don't know if it is the color or the consistency. It is still good, just a bit disappointed.

      It's really going to depend on your skintone, If you're more olive, you may want to try a more yellow toned corrector. But otherwise, I still think you could benefit from a peachy toned corrector like Benefit, NYX, Pixi, Tarte, Sephora, etc. :)

    The Sephora brand corrector in the wand didn't do much for me either. I've got 2 pot types: It Cosmetics & Benefit's Boing (formerly Erase Paste) & they work ok but are so thick & sticky. The skin around & especially under my eyes is tissue paper thin now & thick products seem to make "folds" in the skin if that makes any sense. Maybe I'm just using it wrong? What works great for me as an all-in-one corrector & concealer is the double ended wand by Amazing Cosmetics. I get the Peach/Green in Light & just use the peach side. I wish they would release it as a single shade in a wand.

    Watching in 2020, wow these are great tips. Some people have dark circles due to discoloration, mine is dark circles due to bags. You don’t see the bag you just see the shadow the bag creates. Do you have any tips and do you think a color corrector would help me? Thank you again🥰

    GREAT VIDEO!!! Pixi is drying for me, too. For the money, I find Tarte not worth it; it didn't seem to last on me though I also enjoyed the packaging (I've kept it for mixing up eyeliners). I haven't had much luck with NYX, and since I could use the coverage, I may or may not try it. However, because it has more coverage and is not drying, Boing would be the one I'd want to try next. How do you pick a shade in Boing? Thank you

    Lancome's new corrector, shade orange red is best for dark skin. I picked up Maybelline corrector pen in red which is new and is wonderful you should check out their lighter peach shade!

    Hi Stephanie, I'm a new subscriber. Glad I've found your channel. I'm 62 and have many of the same issues that you do underneath my eyes: dry, fine lines, hereditary dark circles, deeper tear troughs, plus now bags on the outside corners. It's the pits to work with! I really appreciate your in-depth reviews/comparisons. I've watched some of your other videos on concealers and found them very helpful. I have a NYX color corrector but it's more orange than peach so I always thought it was too much for my fair-light skin tone. Maybe I'll just have to splurge on the Benefit product you love so much. I try to purchase drug store brands or sale items from Ulta/Sephora. I've a more limited budget for makeup/skincare.

    I'm gonna try the benefit or tart one. Can you recommend a primer? No matter what concealer I use, everytime I smile it creases so much
    I tried the Peter Thomas Roth primer treatment and it doesn't work at all. I use a hydrating moisturizer. My dark circles are do bad so I try to use full coverage concealer but that's tough to find too. Thx a lot!!!

      I don't prime under concealer because the less layers, the better. I moisturize, correct, conceal and set by pressing in powder. Excellent video! I have the Becca one and really enjoy it. I want to try the Tarte one, my sister has it and she really likes it. I definitely want to look into the NYX one as a cheaper option. Can you please do a video about setting powders for the under eye area? I think that is what I have the hardest part with because some will make me look a tad grey after applying and I hate that! Thanks!

    The problem with the becca brightener is rather that it accentuates fine lines because of the glitter in it.

      @@zaram3134 Sorry didn't see your question until now sorry for the late reply.
      Depends on the lighting. In the sunlight the glitter is definitely obvious. It looks very glowy, so you only use it if you naturally have barely any dark circles

    I have the Becca corrector and I have really been enjoying that one. I think its great for light skin tones. I also have used the Tarte and the Armani ones which are also very nice. I only use them in the corners of my eyes and tear trough area and a little concealer on top. I try to use as little as possible and thin layers around my eyes so I prefer very pigmented products. Thanks for a very informative video. I want to try the benefit one next.

    Great corrector video Stephanie, I also use Benefit and recently moved back to it from the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye. I used to suffer from eczema and was unfortunately a bit heavy handed in applying hydrocortisone creams under my eyes which has thinned the skin and resulted in very dark undereyes. I am going to watch your demo videos on applying the corrector and also Shape Tape as I have recently purchased and think better application would help me. I love watching your videos and as someone of a similar age they are very helpful providing ideas for suitable products.

    Thank you so much for doing this video, Stephanie. Dark circles are my biggest problem area. Even my lids are dark. I've been using the Pixi & it's the best that I've found so far, but it is a bit drying & shows the fine lines, especially on my more mature eye area. I'm definitely going to give the Benefit one a try. Do you recommend using it on top of the eyelid as well or would you suggest a different product specifically for that? I have tried Smashbox for the lids and find it to be just okay. Appreciate this video very much!! Have a great weekend! 😊💞

      I don't like things to be as creamy on the eyelids b/c my shadows can crease as the day goes on. I use a shadow primer for that. I'm living Milanis or MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre. I always set with a neutral shadow or translucent powder before starting with eye products. Before those, I was using UD Primer Potion in Eden. Thank you!

    I have a question so I am 44 and when I try to do the corrector whether it's in you know orange or something like that it seems to set and my lines my lines underneath my eyes and it emphasizes it more you know time you put the foundation in the concealer on at it and setting powder and blurring powder and everything else it all sits in it and I look more older than what I am how do you fix that

    • @StephanieMarie
      @StephanieMarie  7 лет назад +1

      I'm not sure if this will answer your question or not. But I'll try. I never put foundation on my undereye area. The less layers the better. I moisturize REALLY WELL and let it sink in before I go in with corrector. Before going in with concealer, I lightly tap out any creases from me looking down as I did in the video. Then I apply concealer. Then I immediately apply my finely milled powder and dust it away quickly. You may not need to set with powder at all if you don't crease. If not, then don't. But I do or else I crease! How are you setting with powder and what powder do you use? What concealer and corrector are you using?

    I like the thinness & tone of the Becca, but it never dried down & even with powder remained tacky for me. So I couldn't figure it out and found the Tarte CC & even though it's darker I can get away with using it alone. It too doesn't dry down on me, but with a little powder it's manageable. Great video!

    • @StephanieMarie
      @StephanieMarie  7 лет назад +2

      I find that most correctors and concealers don't fully dry down, if they're truly moisturizing enough not to emphasize texture. The exception would be Shape Tape. But I ALWAYS have to set my undereye products b/c they crease. Products that don't crease are way too drying b/c they dry down...which only ends up getting even more dry throughout the day. Thanks!
