*WHAT IS HAPPENING?!* This video has _ BLOWN UP_ 😭 * HELLO* to all the new AllyCats! Please * Subscribe* and stick around for more Basics videos like this! ❤❤❤
That's very useful.yes I'm all for minimalist. I've tried using 2 types of concealer. Do you let things dry in between the layers? My only concern is related to crepyness which can show up more. Also some concealers are Matt and some have glow and getting it to match skin is tricky. Then I apply setting powder which ? Works.
@@JR-qv4ro I think cream concealers work best if you’ve noticed crepey skin in the past from other concealers. The cream will offer some hydration. You can then make it more skin-like by setting it lightly with powder. I like RCMA No Color Powder or Laura Mercier Secret Brightening powder
The best part is that you didn't have to do anything to the rest of your face. I never wear makeup at all and I have really bad dark under eye circles and this has been the video I've been looking for forever. Thank you sooooo much! ❤️✌️
I have this exact thing! I call it not a 'dark circle' but a 'purple triangle'. it's so different from other types of 'dark circles'. like, some people have hyperpigmentation but this is like thin skin and you can see the blood underneath, it's totally different.
I've needed concealer all my life and used this technique, but in my early 60s I began having additional issues...a small amount of powder is necessary to prevent creasing, but now, with more fine lines under my eyes, my biggest problem is cracking. Any facial expression that moves the undereye area causes the concealer to crack, and you end up looking 100 years old. I have not found a total solution to this problem, but after some experimentation, I've found that sandwiching the layers of concealer between layers of setting spray helps to give the concealer a bit of elasticity, which helps to reduce cracking.
Setting spray layering can be sooo effective all over the face, especially under eyes and the nose. It does more as a primer than as a fixative. I spray a sponge (I love those mini ones for this) and dab on. Keeps makeup from sliding off my nose 😅 You might try eyeshadow primer under the eyes! The trick is mega-hydrating and sealing the moisture in with the primer. If you don't already, I really recommend using under eye patches. Wear them while you do your other makeup, and remove right before you do your under eyes. Dab excess moisture with a tissue and go in with eyeshadow primer or whatever you like. You can get hydrogel patches with collagen, vit C, etc but I really prefer using my own serums with reusable silicone patches. Dieux makes some amazing ones but if you Google you will find a lot of cheaper substitutes. The amount of use you'll get out of them is AMAZING. The bonus is that if you wear them while applying your eye makeup, you don't have to worry about fallout! Slugging every night is another way to hydrate like crazy. It just helps smooth lines and wrinkles so much, and the eyeshadow primer is very occlusive since it's meant to keep oil from seeping out so it keeps moisture from escaping too :)
you can try gently wiping off concealer where it could crease before setting with powder with a cotton bud/q tip. This way it will take off excess from delicate parts where there are fine lines and it willset creaseless and last like that.
@@LunarEleven100% slugging helps me with this immensely. Idk if I do the exact definition of slugging but I do hylauronic acid serum on DAMP skin, let that dry down, then Cerave night cream, let that dry, then Vaseline on top (this is all after double cleansing with Cerave and then black African soap which is AMAZING, totally shrinks my pores, but so that the Vaseline doesn’t cause me acne). I did this to my SUPER dry, cracking, and bleeding hands last night and put gloves over them and let set over night, and they are sooo smooth this morning. Barely any visible dryness. I only touched up with Vaseline once today and they’re still doing great. I’ll have to do it again tonight because I have NEVER gotten this result from any single product I’ve tried. Btw the Ordinary is a great, inexpensive, and extremely reliable brand for hyaluronic acid serum.
The hardest part of this I think is knowing when and being able to stop applying. I’ve been dealing with dark circles since my teens and I’m so used to piling on layer after layer and never being satisfied with how it looks. Heavy coverage is almost like a security blanket for me. I don’t feel confident going out unless I’ve applied at least three layers by the end of my makeup routine. 😂
I've subbed because this actually works and is so cheap everyone can give it ago. I've tried so many colour correctors, different concealers, techniques etc. A total waste of money, your way, done in 5 seconds and has lasted all day. Amazing 😊 thanks so much Allycat. So glad I watched this x
I also have dark under eye circles with noticeable eye troughs. I just tried this technique and as someone who has been using under eye concealer for a decade, this probably is the best technique out there.
This may be the only video where the technique actually shows a strong understanding of 3d modeling. Everyone who blankets the whole area in concealer...I just don't understand. You're technique is flawless and very skillful. Thanks so much for posting this. It finely made it click for me as someone very new to makeup
I have them too. Was born with them. Doesn't matter how much I sleep or don't sleep. Allergy meds didn't get rid of them. NOTHING gets rid of my Ricky Raccoon eyes. Thanks for this!
Holy cow… talk about easy. I’m 57 and could NOT figure out the color corrector/concealer thing without using more product. You are right… the products you already have will work if you have the right technique and tool! TYSVM!!!!
Oh my GAWD WTF. I had the color correcting part, but the concealer only in the most hollow part.... I just did it in the mirror and literally said, "uh...what?!". This works!
I am constantly watching RUclips videos on concealing undereye darkness and circles, and I must say, this video was definitely worth watching. It showed me that you really need only a little bit of product on the area to conceal. Other videos have you using the V technique under your eye area. This idea never works for me. I believe that you have taught me a good lesson on using minimal product to achieve good results. Many thanks!😁
You have no idea how much this just helped me. I was struggling so much trying to figure out how to fix this issue. Because I couldn't figure out what the problem was called ! And this was it! Thank you !
Your dark circles are exactly the same as mine and I've been doing this technique for about 10 years too. Took my a few years to settle on this technique but it works so well. Another thing I do is use a tiny bit of blush to blend in the 'dark circle' into the surrounding skin
Hi..from the UK 😊! Just to say a HUGE thankyou for the advice! I tried this for the first time today and it’s AMAZING! I’m now a subscriber and look forward to checking out future videos! Congratulations on the success of this it’s much deserved 😘😘
I tried your technique this morning, and it definitely improved my under eye. I rarely wear make-up but have been playing with it more, and using concealer definitely would get in my creases and throughout the day would just not look good. Now in my 30s I want an easy, natural look and this helped a lot! Thank you!
You are brilliant. Wy does no one talk about this!!! These are techniques for receding and highlighting that my mom uses (professional oil painter). So it makes sense that this would work.
First time watching I have the same issue Plus I’m older so I have to be very gentle with the area I found this helpful Yes I am self conscious of this too Thanks
I absolutely love this video! Every time I’ve tried the “tricks” from the Instagram stars, I end up looking fake and the circles still remain. Your tops helped me finally get rid of the circles while being able to keep my own face. Thanks for making this. ❤
I cant tell you how much this video has helped me with my dark circles 🥰 for years I've been looking for a technique for this specific type of under eye and you did that. Thank youuu !!!! ❤
Thank you so much for this video! I was looking for a way to address those circles but dont wear any other makeup, and this looks amazing. I can't wait to try.
I am so incredibly happy right now. I love makeup and there's so many MUAs I love watching but I have NEVER found someone whose face is so similar to mine. I've been struggling with my dark circles/hollow undereyes for so long and I feel really hopeful that this will help! Thank you :)
I’ve only just had this video cross my FYP. This is actually amazing. Thank you so much. I’ve not tried it yet but I can tell it’s definitely a game changer. I am actually sick, with kidney failure. Which causes dark circles anyway. However I already had bad dark circles. I’ve seen Wayne goss. But yours actually looks better. 🎉
Ally, OMG!!! I am going to try this today. I have STRUGGLED for close to 40, yes 40 years with this issue. I am 53. IHATE this part of my face. I will keep you updated. THANK YOU
So good to see a mua who has the same sunken under eyes, so frustrating, I've had them since my early 20s, I tried concealing but only made them worse! I'll definitely find myself the right concealer for the dark parts of my circles, thank you!
Just found this - I have the worst periorbital shadow around my right eye and it really gets me down. I’ve just followed this technique and the dramatic difference is mind blowing! Thanks!
Hun, this video, all your dedication and kindness, is LIFE CHANGING. I feel so bad and insecure about my face just because of my prominent and ugly dark circles that I feel like I always been not graceful or pretty ar all, no one single time, because of them and the fact that I could ever correct them... BUT NOW I CAN. Omg thank you so much, sis. Sending you huggies and a forehead kisses for all the times u where asked something rude ❤
Thank you so much for share this, I have the same issue, and when I was a teen ( long long time ago) people always ask me same questions if I was tire, or sick or maybe I wasn’t sleeping well etc, and I have that because of genetic my dad has it so will have it for life, and I tried always cover them with makeup but they always show through no matter what I do!! Thanks for showing how you do it.
Thank you Alyssa! I have terribly dark circles that I have spent thousands on concealers to eradicate them, all to no avail. I can’t wait to apply my makeup tomorrow just to try out your technique. Thanks again x
How am I just finding this video now?? 30 years of struggling with dark circles, a prominent orbital bone and undereye hollows., not to mention all the comments that I get that look sick. I couldn't figure out why concealer just didn't look right (especially the triangle technique!) 😆Now I know and am so excited to try this. Your positive energy just shines and I'll definitely be watching your other videos!
Finally! A video that addresses the same exact problem I have without using a ton of product or a full face of makeup! Its so funny what she says as well, I refer to them as Zombie eyes and people are always asking me if I'm sick or got punched in the eye, so annoying
I cannot wait to try this! I'm older, okay old 🙃, but I've been really sick, on prednisone (steroids) for a long time. I gained a LOT of puffiness in my face which creates very large hollow places under my eyes, just above the area where the fat starts. I've virtually given up on makeup which is sad because I love makeup, because of this. This sounds pretty easy, and it sure worked on you! You are way younger than me, but I'm thinking the technique should still work for me. Thank you!
Thankyou so much for your tutorial. I'm 66 and have had this problem my whole life. When I talk about it with girlfriends, they tell me they don't see my bags and darkness but, I swear, a minute later someone else will ask me if I have black eye!!
I suffer from terrible bags under the eye and it’s my biggest insecurity. I have tried many techniques and nothing really has worked. I will try this one ☝🏽 thank u so much ☺️
Wow, thank you! I have much older skin than you, but your technique helped me so much!! I wish I knew this years ago. Thank you!! And I love how real you are. Blessings!
I'm so eager to try this technique. I'm 36 yo and I have those tear grooves since my childhood, as you said it's my sunken eye bone/full cheekbones that are emphasising my undereyes, no matter if I'm tired or slept well, it's the same. I need to try this. I also found that lately I need to use far less foundation/concealer/powder than I used to do bc my skin starts to be drier and there are some fine lines and it was psychologically so weird to use myself to wear a tiny dot of concealer, a CC cream and almost no powder bc my skin won't handle more now lol. I tried to use a line of concealer just above my grooves before, but the results weren't really life-changing. I'll try it again, thx !
Looks great. Can't wait to try this. My dark circles are way worse than yours (I'm older so the skin is thinner). I love the way makeup isn't caked on to cover up (I tried that and it looked great for 2 hours and then horrible after that...but, I felt so much less zombie-like going out!). It's a difficult problem to remedy, that's so sure. Thanks so much!
this was so helpful! I have deep trenches under my eyes and every concealer I tried looked terrible - BECAUSE I was using too much -this technique was mind blowing! Thanks!
Omggggg!!! I have have been looking for something like this! I am 48 and have been looking for something like this I have the same issue as you!!! LIFE CHANGING!!!!!
Literally life changing. I'm actively angry that I've spent 20 years doing anything but this and having it take much longer, use more product, and not be as effective
I’m 54 years old with 3 kids and all of the things that need to be lifted and tucked, 😂, my dark, deep circles are what bother me the most. Will definitely try this technique! Thank you! 😊
New alley cat here 😊 loved your video and believe I have finally found the way to cover my dark circles AND hollows. Plus, you're adorable and my son would probably really like you!
Love love love. I usually watch Wayne Goss as he’s closer to my age but when I look back in pictures from my late 30s I see but didn’t notice or have the means to pull up a hack. I appreciate that you are young but you are truthful and not just hey I’m 19 doing a video on how without having the need to and just erks me. Thank you your technique is even a bit easier than Wayne’s. You have a new subscriber
OMG!!!!! I 49 and have looked for this answer since I started wearing make-up. I have thecexact same under eye circles and tones..... FINALLY a correction that will work 🥰 soooo happy Que HAPPY DANCE
I believe the correct term for the dark circles is called tear troughs. I have them as well. It's tricky to place the product properly or it will exacerbate the fat pad under the eye. Can't get any corrector or concealer above the discolored area. Great informative video!
New subscriber here. Thank you for this video. I’m 53 and have never been able to address this problem correctly. I love the products you’ve used because they are affordable and cruelty free. Looking forward to more of your videos. 😁
I'm going to try this! I saw Wayne Goss's version, but your demo is better IMHO. Like you, I have too many concealers & color correctors to count! I'm nearly twice your age so....😂 I have lived with this as far back as I can remember. Everything you said is true about being self conscious, comments from "friends" etc. Thank you Alley Cat! 🐾
Omg This is the best video I have seen. It has been my insecurity for like forever. And the best part is that I don’t like too much makeup this is all I need. Thanks a lot I’m gonna try this for sure. 🌸🌸
I love your technique of not loading on the concealer in the TRIANAGLE as most tutitorials show, as it settles in fine lines (which you don't have). I a always putting to much on and it doesn't help, I am going to try your way today! On a side note, I have this problem but am in my 60's and it was driving me nuts. I had 1 syringe of juvederm in cheek bones and that helps the "hollow" two would help more but it's pricey . You can also get an injection under the eyes but it's tricky and needs to be done by a surgeon. So for us "older" gals those hallows need more help, ultimately an eyelift with fillers as concealers do just so much.
First of all, you have the cutest personality. You are like the relatable girl next door and I love it! New Allycat here! Thanks for sharing. I have your exact issue and I can't wait to try out your technique.

This is what I have!
My dark circles are my biggest facial insecurity and I can’t wait to try this technique! Thanks so much for this💕
The way I'm just as excited as you are when watching this video because it's my insecurity too😭

Add I’ve gotten older I’ve noticed the same things! Less is definitely more 😅❤️
Looks great.
Thanks!
Thanks a lot
Omggggg!!! I have have been looking for something like this! I am 48 and have been looking for something like this I have the same issue as you!!! LIFE CHANGING!!!!!
I've been looking for a tutorial like this forever!! I have the line and had no idea how to fix it until now so thank you sm
Best I've seen and it works!!!
Literally life changing. I'm actively angry that I've spent 20 years doing anything but this and having it take much longer, use more product, and not be as effective
My circles are deep in discoloration and hallow. In the last year since hitting 40 they became more pronounced. Going to try this technique
This is invaluable information 😱😍😍! You just don’t know how much I appreciate you sharing this 😍🙏💗!
OMG!!!!! I 49 and have looked for this answer since I started wearing make-up. I have thecexact same under eye circles and tones..... FINALLY a correction that will work 🥰 soooo happy
Que HAPPY DANCE
I believe the correct term for the dark circles is called tear troughs. I have them as well. It's tricky to place the product properly or it will exacerbate the fat pad under the eye. Can't get any corrector or concealer above the discolored area. Great informative video!
Thank you!!! This is THE technique I have been searching for!
Thank you for sharing your learnings in detail. I have sunken under eyes and am grateful for your tutorial.
This was so informative! Thank you! Also this is literally the first make-up video I've ever watched that made me laugh out loud, your're funny lol.
New subscriber here. Thank you for this video. I’m 53 and have never been able to address this problem correctly. I love the products you’ve used because they are affordable and cruelty free. Looking forward to more of your videos. 😁
We loved the idea of using a much smaller detail brush as opposed to a flat synthetic concealer brush! Definitely a must try, thanks for sharing!
Thank you! The tools we choose and use are so vital ❤️
Absolutely the best technique I’ve ever seen!!! Thank you sooo much!!!
Thank you!! ❤️❤️
Oh man I've had these my whole life... thank you
This was so useful! I have really bad undereye circles so this will be a game changer!
Thank you for sharing this. I’ve always had dark circles and always struggled to cover them.
You are a gem!!! This technique & the way you explained it was genius! Thank you!
Wow thank you, this is genius! Xx
Wow this helps me for my hollow eyes thank you so much for the tips
I have watched a ton of these videos. You explain the theory behind it the best. Thank you
Omg This is the best video I have seen. It has been my insecurity for like forever. And the best part is that I don’t like too much makeup this is all I need. Thanks a lot I’m gonna try this for sure. 🌸🌸
Nice! I haven't seen this done. Thank you. I not only have circles, but puffy from allergies. I will try this around that issue after icing. Thanks!
Oh wow thank you so much for saying that! Welcome to the ✨Kitty Litter✨
Ok I’m soooo pumped about trying this! I’m totally going to purchase these items and go for it! It’s so simple, thank you so much!
