- ➡️ Hi Everyone! In today's video, I'm doing to show you how I conceal my dark, hollow under-eyes. Covering dark circles under the eyes is not just about covering and correcting darkness, but it's also about flattening and disguising hollowness that you might have under the eyes. I have dry skin, and deep set eyes, so this is a look at the products I LOVE that actually help to flatten hollow under eyes, conceal darkness, all while looking very natural. I show you my tips, tricks and general technique when concealing my dark circles. I hope it's helpful- please tell me if it is and give this video a thumbs up :)

Almost my whole life I thought I had dark circles. In reality, my eyes are just deeper set. Omg.
As a person with both hereditary dark circles and some hollowness, this was super helpful. I think you've finally sold me on the kosas concealer! 😉
You look beautiful on your pic
It's not a great concealer, just overhyped and heavily promoted. Just like Shape Tape was.
You are one of the first people that I’ve found that emulates my exact makeup esthetic! I’ve found so many beautiful formulas through you. So, thank you💜
so glad we found each other 😍.. and that means if you find any new holy grails you need to let me know!!
@@AmandaZ Oh, absolutely! The most recent recommendation I’ve tried from you is the revlon colorstay creme eyeshadow in the shade 720 chocolate. Wow!! So beautiful and the formula is gorgeous. I’m going to have to try more shades😍
@Alexandra Saadi I have this and LOVE IT 💓😂
@Alexandra Saadi: Very beautiful said
@@emanuelaemanuela that’s kind of you say💜
Amazing tips! I have light skin but very dark undereye area and it is a headache try to convince people that I'm not ill 😂 is just my regular dark undereyes circles
In high school a girl once told me I look like a cancer patient when I don’t wear makeup. It’s really fun, eh?
When I tell u I RAN
Boi I ran
I don't even conceal my under eyes because I like the hollows, and I have super oily skin, but I really enjoyed this video. I just find the technique so fascinating and I love Amanda's videos in general. Also, colour correction really is helpful for all sorts of areas of discolouration on your skin!
Anyone who wants to try this but can’t afford the things she recommended, the LA girl pro concealer has wonderful full coverage but not cakey color correctors for all skin tones. Their shade range is hella inclusive. They are on sale at ulta currently for $3-$4. Amanda maybe you can compare your fave color correctors to the ones I suggested.
Yes and the last for a long time !
Thank you! I've never heard anybody I watch mention hollowness before and I think that's my main problem. Also, letting the concealer set is a revelation.
Please give an in depth eye tutorial. This content was so helpful and complete.
Wow, I have genetic dark circles AND hollow undereyes, and I struggled with makeup for years before finally finding a more targeted strategy last year, and it's amazing how similar it is to yours, down to using the same Kosas concealer. I think some of your tips will finally perfect my concealer application, I've never tried using a dry sponge before and I think that's the one thing I've been missing. I would love another video on keeping your eyes bright, I particularly struggle with finding an eyeshadow technique that doesn't accentuate my hollow undereyes!
I’ve been thinking about getting the kosas but I wasn’t sure but now knowing it covers the hollowness makes it definitely my next buy!!
I love it!!! Same with the Undone Beauty Concealer- there was a point where I didn't think a concealer that could help the hollowness existed... so happy to have been proved wrong 😂😭
@@AmandaZ Same! Most videos out there are just about dark circles so I got so excited when you uploaded this !! 💖💖
@L K I bought it based on her recommendation and rave about it and it didn't work out for me. The concealer that I received was really dry and it turned cakey with really little product.
I am not saying it will not work out for you. But if you are within a budget, don't rush out to buy it :)
@@kileaste thank you for letting me know! It probably depends on your skin type as well... I have oily skin (not too bad but I definitely have that “shine” 😅) so it might not be as dry?
But yeah it’s definitely a lot of money for a concealer, ugh I was really excited for that concealer as well cause one of them has fair olive undertones which is super hard to find :-(
Do you have any concealers you recommend?
Yes to the bright and awake eyes tutorial!!!
I have bags under my eyes (genetics) and I always just piled on the "triangle" of concealer like all the RUclipsrs did. Guess what, that was wrong. Same with hollowness - did'nt even know that existed. This very specific kind of make up techniques are so hard to find. I am not a 16 year old with perfect skin, no pores and wrinkles, so thank you for covering very specific problems.
Did you by any chance did a video on very dry skin under the eyes and concealers for that problem? I just discovered your channel and looking, hopefully yes.
This is so so helpful first time Ive heard someone talk about this I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem
I’m so happy you made this video, you’re honestly one of the only beauty RUclipsrs I feel I learn so much from! I’ve had the kosas reavealer concealer sitting in my drawer for months now because I could never get it to look how I wanted, I tried out the dry sponge method you suggested and WOW the way it melted into my skin is fucking insane and it really did fill in the hollowness!! This is a video idea I feel a lot of people have been searching for so thank you!! 😭❣️
Wow!! Excellent video!! I’ve seen countless videos on how to cover/conceal dark under-eye circles, but yours is the first I’ve seen that addresses how to conceal dark, hollow eyes-a huge difference between the two. Can’t wait to try your technique! Thank you for posting!
This topic is not talked about enough!! As a dry undereye skin and deep hollow lady - the Dior Forever Correct is FANTASTIC. The kosas unfortunately highlighted my texture even though it seems like everyone loves it.
That is one of my faves
Amanda, you're really good at instructions.
I've been loving using dry sponge to blend my foundation and concealer, I don't think I will return to wet sponge anymore
I’m so happy Kosas released a shade extension to the concealer. I used to be 5.5 medium olive in the summer, but over the winter I’ve gotten much paler. And now there’s a 3.2 light neutral olive shade! Gonna try it for sure
Yes please to another video about keeping eyes bright!!!! This was awesome, thank you!! I do tend to start light and then overapply/keep adding product to get more coverage until I’m frustrated because I can see the product!
What a great video!! I appreciate the time you spent demonstrating and explaining the tips. Explaining is more important than demonstrating in my opinion. Thank you!!
Just found you and subscribed! This is the most informative video I’ve seen on correcting under eyes! Why do professional makeup artist not tell us this? It makes so much sense! Once I see someone not promoting a product, or trying to build up their name, they’ve gained my trust. Thank you Amanda for this enlightening demo. Can’t wait to try it!
I feel like you made this video for me personally, thank you. I feel seen in the best way
Thank you for this video. It’s so refreshing to see someone not only show us products, but walk through techniques to help us look our best. You really are a gem, Amanda! 💕
Thank you for this! I have hollows and needed a way to hide without so much product.
I am new to your channel, I really love the way you talk and don’t go ammm ummm, it is sooo pleassant to listen to you, thank you. I think I can learn alot from you, thank you, I will keep watching
Wow I think I've been rushing my blending of concealer! Thanks for this!
This is the video I needed, AND I have the Kosas concealer already, and hate powdering my under eye.
This and I have the Bobbi Brown base cream :-)
So happy to see this video!!! I totally understand the struggle to find a concealer looking like skin
Wow I’ve been watching make up tutorials videos from and for woman my age, and although they’ve been helpful none of the addressed the hollows in the way you did, Thank you. 😊
Thank you for this video Amanda! My hollow eyes are due to health issues so I am appreciative of any tricks to help minimize them in any way. I have just subscribed to your channel and look forward to watching more of your content.
Been waiting for this!!!!!!!!
Fantastic, and what a relief. I believe I can do a better job at getting my undereyes taken care of. YES PLEASE do another/more videos on your makeup techniques. I appreciate that we know what products to use, method of how to use them... Yippee!
Thank you!! I used your link to order and try the lip gloss too and ordered some body washes for my kids to try from the Naturium!
I totally agree with everything you said except the letting the concealer dry a little. If you have older skin, it’s better to do thin layers.
Agree!! That is why I love a rather liquid concealer, so layer over layer does not shift but stay where I put it
Great tips and great makeup aesthetic! Honestly I had stopped watching makeup tutorials for such a long time because none seemed to reflect my approach to makeup. Thank you for presenting approachable techniques and looks that are polished and look approachable and fresh.
This video is exactly what I have been looking for... I used to use the Bobbi Brown serum corrector (liquid) and it completely brightened the hollow in my inner corner and color corrected my genetic dark circles, but of course, it got discontinued...😫
I am a liquid concealer and not pot concealer person and finding a liquid corrector that is good has been a struggle... I just tried the Tinted corrector stick but it is too dark for me. I have been debating between the tarte or the becca but what you really sold me on is the Kosas concealer... 😍 That finish is beautiful!
Thank you, you heard my prayers. I have been wanting a video like this for so long. I personally have hollowness under my eyes, and now I know how to help make it look a little better. Yes, please make a video on your technique on how to make your eyes look brighter.
Hello it’s me back again. That technique you shared about letting it set works amazingly. I tried it this morning I tried it yesterday and I couldn’t believe how nice my under eyes looked. Thank you thank you thank you for sharing your technique and all your information I really enjoy your videos. Have a great day. :-)
Just purchased the Kosas in 2.5 and hollowness is my main issue! Thank u!!!!!!
I’ve watched a lot of videos about covering hollows/darkness but this is the best one Ive seen so far. Can’t wait wait to try out that Kosas concealer with the mini blender.
OMG, I do that, too @! I have the same hollowness under my eyes as yours, but sadly, I have very bad undereye darkness, too. It's not skin discoloration, but veins under thin skin that's peeking through. It's a weird combination of green and violet that's a pain trying to even color correct. I find that using a peachy toned concealer works when I couldn't be bothered to use color corrector.
I do that, too, letting the concealer sit for a while, to let it dry up a bit so it more or less sets a bit, too. Mostly, I spead a minimum amount of concealer needed, concentrating on the darkest part and use a small fluffy brush using tapping motions from the edges spreading to where needed and then I use a dry mini sponge to lightly tap off excess wetness off the concealer and further spread the excess concealer picked up by the sponge to to the perimeter of the undereye to make it look more blended thus natural lookinga. This way, I do not waste concealer by letting the sponge soak up the concealer and at the same time does not move what concealer I laid out on the strateic areas. This also minimizes the need the use of setting powder for me. For setting powder I prefer the pressed instead of the loose ones. i find pressed powders give a more evenly distributed powder on the brush than loose powder does. only put the tiniest amount of the setting powder, concentrating again on the hollow part. I prefer that more "matte" looking, you don't want that hollow part to be shiny, because that would only emphasize the hollowness, the difference in depth of that part of the undereyes, you know, light reflection, shadowing. I live in a very humid climate so no matter if I'm using my preferred Tarte ST or the TF Born This Way I feel I need to set it this way. Doing all these, even though I have dry undereyes and do not have oily lids, I find even the ST do not look dry on me. I'm not fond of using full coverage foundations as I like the natural glowiy look, but I do need to cover my sorry looking undereye darkness. It's complicated work, having bad undereye darkness and wanting natural looking glowy skin, add to that, having very-yellow-bordering-olive skin tone with rosacea. Tips would be appreciated, too. ☺️
Thanks for showing us all the methods and products tp help conceal the under eye area. I think I just need to be more patient and leave my concealer sit a lot longer than I’ve been. Yes please do a separate video on how you draw attention away from the under eye area. That would be amazing! 💚💚💚 Thanks!
Extremely well done video 😍
Thank you for these great tips! I have hollowness and dark circles, so I'll try those techniques and see how it goes
The bobbi brown face base feels and looks *so nice* on the skin, I understand your love. My t zone gets quite oily but my cheeks have been getting dry from masks all day every day. I haven't been wearing foundation, just undereye concealer and powder, but I generously apply BB face base to my cheeks and perimeter of face anyway after moisturizer has well sunk in. It absolutely saves my cheeks thruout the day, but is still beautiful in texture and feel.
I have a question about the face base. Do you use it after your moisturizer followed by spf? I will ask Amanda as well but since you commented I thought I'd get your opinion as well. Thank you.
@@maryrichardson7029 please excuse the latency of my reply 🙈, I kept meaning to come back and answer you!...so, what I did and still do, is apply my skincare, then I do my eyes first as preference before base, when I'm done with my eyes I go in w the face base on my cheeks and perimeter of my face in a moderate amount, I dont use any other primer there, and then go about my face as I want. It sinks in beautifully, not a lot of wait time needed. I have actually been wearing lower coverage base products again with some regularity the last month or two, I've been loving the fenty eaze drops. Of course we all have different skin, so this is just me.
@@maryrichardson7029 I forgot to address the spf! I go into a hospital for 12+ hrs, which is literally less than a 5 min drive from my house, I dont wear soft on the daily. Most of the year I never see the light of day. When I will have sun exposure I definitely use spf, and prob wouldnt use this product bc I would get enough moisture from my fave spf products. So I'm even less help lol, sorry 😆.
I am a mom of 3 with a newborn. This video was made for me. 😆 I totally botched the color choice on my Kosas concealer. I got 2.5 but definitely should have gotten 1.5. I can't wait to try the nose powder trick. Thank you so much, Amanda!!
I have been so excited for this video! I’ve recently realized how effective a cooler toned concealer can be at color correcting, even on my warm olive skin tone. I accidentally bought my favorite concealer in the wrong shade-light with a cool undertone-and because I didn’t want to have to go in store to return it, I tried it out, and it is perfect! I will be using that one from now on!
I inherited a family characteristic of swollen under eye bags that are becoming more pronounced with age. Your technique is great and the results are stunning. I wish this method made a difference for me. There's a surgical procedure that lessens them but that's not an option so I try to hide them under eyeglasses. That doesn't work either. And now, with facemasks, I feel like the bags have become a bigger focal point but maybe it's just in my head! Love your content.
One of the best videos i have seen on color correction/concealing!!! Thank you!!! And yes, would love to see a more in depth eye tutorial!!! 😉
This is a great video. I always have the most difficult time with concealer and matching color for myself. I had chemo when I was very young and still have really dark under eyes. I love the minimalist approach here.
This is soooooo helpful. I want to see all the technique videos! I also find the neutrogena radiant concealer (silver cap) so similar to the kosas! Maybe a lighter coverage . I really want to try the undone!
Thank you so much for your video! And holy crap, I would love more videos on your makeup techniques! You never steer me wrong and I've been needing those recommendations. I haven't found another video like this that's as thorough and helpful as yours. The Kosas concealer is really pretty but as with their other complexion products they're too warm for my pinky paleness but maybe I'm just not doing the right placement? I'm definitely taking notes...
Needed this! Will you please test the Jones Road Face Pencil? Dying to know if it’s as good of a concealer as they say it is.. Especially for us hollow under-eye folks..
I tried this today and wow! Didn't have the kosas concealer, but your placement tips really made a huge difference. I have both dark circles and hollow eyes. Thank you!
YES! Fresh, brighter eyes tutorial!
I’m so thankful YT suggested your channel to me. Loved the video. Thank you for introducing me to Kosas concealer. Just ordered and hope it works as well for my deep seated eyes as yours. (I too have the darkness between my nose and eyes.)
I just love your videos! You have taught this 50 year young so much. I have tried many of your recommendations and your reviews are spot on! And you are more than tolerable-you are absolutely adorable!
Please can you turn on closed captions for those of us with hearing deficit. Thank you ☺️
Yes!! They are on I think it just takes a moment to update I'll keep you posted when it's caught up :)
they're up! :)
@@AmandaZ ❤️
Omg your makeup style is so natural! New subbie just off of this one video!
i love your videos so much- detailed, concise, no fluff. cant wait to see more!
Would love to see brighter eye makeup tips!
You might really enjoy the "Kaja Cat Nap Eye Brighter." It isn't a product that is talked about much. However, I love it for helping with the darkness and hallows of my eyes!
That Becca product is fantastic, but they need to make more colors! I have the medium/deep, and I’m barely even a medium skin tone. The m/d is much more peachy. They should have both pink and peach in several different depth levels, IMO.
Becca is going out of business :(
So I had eye filler because I have very hollow eyes by a plastic surgeon and had to have it disolved. Looked bad. Your way I'm excited to try. Thank you for this video.
the lazy in me has been using a dry sponge for a while now and i actually love it!! thanks for this video!!!
Thank you for such good demonstrations and explanations!! I think I got it, now to do it myself😬
Girl...you are so my Jam! Love the natural looks you do!
Yes, makeup tips for applying eye makeup to make eyes look fresh, not hollowed through the application/colors. Sometimes I start out great with brightening but by the time I’m done with my eyes it’s like I’ve reversed all that freshness 😢😅
Your videos are SO gooood! How do you not have hundreds of thousands of followers! xxxxx
I see last half of video you Did show eye corrector! Ha! Thank you! So sorry! Seriously best video ever! Very helpful!!
Thank you for that detailed video. I'm going to give this method a try. Question: at what point do you apply the Bobbi Brown Multivitamin base: I find with the skin care and sunscreen I use, I'm not sure when to use this product. Thanks!
Hi! I appreciate your straightforward style & the lower cost options. I learned a lot here. New subscriber.
This was the video that made me realize 1. How underrated your channel is and 2. Oops I’ve been watching you for months and just realized I wasn’t subscribed! Fixed that. Keep these awesome tips coming!
This just made me feel better as a hollow person. Wish I had figured out these techniques in my twenties.
Thank you so very much for doing this! I am going to try your technique! I'd like to see more of these!
Well, now I HAVE to go to the Kosas tab I’ve had sitting there for ‘awhile’ and order that concealer 😉. Dark under eye circles are genetic in the women in my family 🤦♀️ and your technique looks like magic!
i bought so many of the products you recommended & love them all :) Also, i was never a blush person and now i own so many blushes :p looking forward for more videos to come!!
I hope you could do a video about the new setting powder from Kosas. I would like to know your opinion about how the powder performance with the concealer.
I really want to try it myself!
I just learned so much, thank you!
Great video! The way you film is perfect.
Excellent Tutorial!!!
I have found that ELF putty concealer works well to conceal undereye hollowness. I mix it with the PIXI color corrector and it seems to work really well!
Thank goodness! Can’t wait to watch this, just found your channel. I have Irish skin, super pale, with very thin skinned hollows under my eyes, making VERY dark circles. All eye products are about de puffing and I just want to puff it all up!!😂
I just want to add that when I have a huge lack of sleep my darkness is vastly improved! So again the opposite of how products are meant to help🤪
I'd love to see another video with the other techniques! this one was perfect :)
Wow, this is the most helpful video I've seen. I've gotten so self conscious about my eye hollows recently and really wanted to figure out how to cover them, I hope this helps me. Also, I just purchased Kosas concealer, how lucky!
Excellent tips and techniques. I will try Kosas based on your recommendation. Thanks!
Thanks for the review with the Kosas concealer I normally use pot concealer not the wand style, think I might give it a try.
Thank you for sharing this video.
I learned a lot.
Love your eyebrows.
