Here again with a review of Hida's recipes! I haven't done one in awhile. These came out really good, even though I totally screwed up the rising part of the recipe. They're surprisingly airy and light and easy to make, even without lemon zest (I just used lemon juice since I didn't have any). I didn't have the right kind of cocoa for the chocolate ones and made them with Hershey's dark chocolate cocoa powder-- don't. It makes them taste kind of chalky. It was still good, just not as good. I can't think of any other critiques for this recipe! It's pretty straightforward and simple (in my opinion) and out comes out great, even if you've never made it before or you forget to let the dough proof in the oven because it's sixty degrees outside and have to let it rise in the fridge overnight like I did! Overall ranking: 9.5/10
