I'm American. I married English. We used to get hammered and go back to the flat and put on The Definite Article, et. al. in Harrogate. I'll admit it was the late 90s/early 2000s and the first 3 min I saw him had me confused. After that, I've been a lifelong fan. I think Eddie changed the world for a lot of people.
Oh Look, two people talking and being positive and not trying to pull each others lungs out and play them like Bagpipes, wonders will never cease. Lovely interview.
Great interview, cheers Tommy. Suzy is a delight; reckon she's more a philosopher/historian to the core, and that is what makes everything she does so emphatic and wonderful. She's also rather correct about people, and losing your parents, esp. your mother, and how that has an effect on relationships and friends after that - it's very hard to ever really trust yourself, or others, again.
Two of my favourite human beings around, luckily I have met both several times and they don’t disappoint. Met Tommy in Waterford after his recent tour, what a very humble sincere man, he was great company.

And a bunch of you saying how she is full of himself...and you aren't because you have to put someone else down because they are different than you? Please, y'all. Love all the people!! Some of them are different than you!! Oh noooooooo!!!!!!!
Such intelligence, honesty and humility Eddie, what's not to love? You, Stephen Fry and Jordan Peterson would be my ultimate dinner party. ❤you...bless...🙏🇦🇺💯

Saw Eddie in Hawkswell theatre in Sligo 30 years ago - I’d say less than 20 in audience. So funny - never saw anything like it before ☺️ Very nice person
That's not true though, is it? If he just sat there with a glazed expression and hardly said a word people would soon go off him. He's talking realistically here about improvisation, which is good, because Stewart Lee (way back in the 1990s) talked about his thing of going 'errrrr' all the time, which made it seem like he'd just thought of something that he'd actually written and rehearsed. If people were honest, they'd admit that a lot of their love for him was really their projected fantasy of being so 'spontaneously' and 'effortlessly' funny with their friends. I still think he's really funny, but it's just good observational humour, and that should be enough.
@@AndrewWilliams-ry6tb That would be over-simplistic as many factors influence someone's personality. But I think it is a key factor. To have lost his mother at such a young age must have been traumatic.

As a woman, I love myself enough to have boundaries. Having boundaries is not hate. Eddie is a man. Every time he enters a single-sex space for women, he crosses a boundary. Women are not here to validate your "girl mode" that you can slip in and out of. Women's spaces are single-sex for a reason and it is not our duty or burden to cater to the whim of your feelings, because you surely don't care about ours. Use the gents, no matter what you're wearing.
100%. I can't believe we have to even remind ourselves of this basic common notion of respect and boundaries between men and women. That said I do not think Eddie has been said to or admitted to using female spaces. Eddie doesn't claim to be a biological woman at all. In fact I'd say he's on Graham Linehan's side. Hope so anyway.
Defining a woman based on the genitals she had at birth is creepy, misogynistic and straight out of the patriarchal toolbox. Have a look at your life Connie, seriously, look at it and suss out for yourself who it is who is causing you suffering. I’ll give you one hint: it is NOT transgender people.
"Women's spaces are single-sex for a reason". This is true in a minority of spaces. Public toilets, where there are individual cubicals, are not one of those spaces. The reason there are "men's" and "women's" cubicals is due to societal norms, not for safety reasons. If it were, you wouldn't get unisex toilets (ever noticed that disabled toilets are always unisex?) If I'm in a queue for a women's toilet and can see there's no queue for the men's, I will use the men's, because quite often the only difference is a sign on a door.
so wish Ms. Izzards political career had taken off and hope it's not over...cos VOTE FOR IZZARD!! as surreal and tangential as they get, always making more sense than the (apparently non-comedic) politicians who're desperate for our votes and confidence. Neither computer monitors nor phones are designed for interlaced video, you just get jagged edges whenever things move. Also, it seems this was shot at 25 frames per second and then (badly) converted to 30, so the result is that there's motion jerkiness in addition to the interlacing artefacts.
