Holy crap. How do you not feel loved? I have loved you for about twenty five years. It doesn't matter to me how you identify, I just love your persepctive, your humour, your world view. You are a national tresure.
“I now think that real living is being… everything almost failing, everything just starting, everything just beginning” …🥹 literally my life and Eddie will never know how reassuring her words are 💛
Great interview, cheers Tommy. Suzy is a delight; reckon she's more a philosopher/historian to the core, and that is what makes everything she does so emphatic and wonderful. She's also rather correct about people, and losing your parents, esp. your mother, and how that has an effect on relationships and friends after that - it's very hard to ever really trust yourself, or others, again.
"I like doing postitive things that are difficult" Oh I love how intently Tommy is listening to him, clearly also in awe as well and Eddie puts so much thought into every answer i feel like we're all drooling on every wordd too. What a lovely interview, rhanks Tommy!!
Taking a compliment and accepting the love is tricky territory for such a lone wolf. Tommy has floored Eddie with his genuine respect (the same as he did with coogs) and sent him away with no doubt that he is loved (and he speaks for most of us). Great idea for a show.
Two of my favourite human beings around, luckily I have met both several times and they don’t disappoint. Met Tommy in Waterford after his recent tour, what a very humble sincere man, he was great company.
I'm American. I married English. We used to get hammered and go back to the flat and put on The Definite Article, et. al. in Harrogate. I'll admit it was the late 90s/early 2000s and the first 3 min I saw him had me confused. After that, I've been a lifelong fan. I think Eddie changed the world for a lot of people.
Oh Look, two people talking and being positive and not trying to pull each others lungs out and play them like Bagpipes, wonders will never cease. Lovely interview.
Eddie is so refreshing. I love how she can just be herself - it really helps the imagination when creating, and she's one of the best examples of this.
Top interview. Loved Eddie since I was in my early teens. Own all his standup DVDs apart from the elusive live at the ambassadors. Seen him live manu times and even my usernames and emails since I was at college are Izzard inspired. I'll occasionally encounter someone who's aware of the name. 😀
I think it's more important to love yourself than to feel loved. I've found it's the people who struggle with that part that tend to be the most screwed up.
I LOVE these two wonderful people!!! And add John Mullaney in there? None better than that!!! National treasures all!!! I laugh myself silly behind their fabulous and wise humor…OMG!!! I start laughing just seeing their faces knowing what’s coming… so gifted these♥️‼️🤪☮️🙋♀️⭐️🥰
Such intelligence, honesty and humility Eddie, what's not to love? You have to know that you are cherished as a person, comic, inspiration and so much more internationally and not just for your decision to live your truth. You, Stephen Fry and Jordan Peterson would be my ultimate dinner party. ❤you...bless...🙏🇦🇺💯
you know, eddie, is it okay i address eddie in here? lol anyway... eddie, i have always just loved you.. even when i am dull and sad YOU can make me laugh and most of the laugh is joy that there is something funny, afterall!! yeah. and with this interview ohhh so great, i was having trouble following your dialogue and then you mentioned alan rickman, who i just love too.. but he died. ..and i miss him.. sure i can see his work but.. never live on stage and never him still being .. a r o u n d. and then and theeennn you reached in to shake tommy's hand and as you two shook hands, you kind of semi winked and smiled and tilted your head and I SAW ALAN AGAIN! so thank you thank you for being so sensitive and open to whatever wants to happen that you brought alan to us !! :' ) thank you! and iti is nice to see you again, too... i havent seen you in a while.
Saw Eddie in Hawkswell theatre in Sligo 30 years ago - I’d say less than 20 in audience. So funny - never saw anything like it before ☺️ Very nice person
@@AndrewWilliams-ry6tb That would be over-simplistic as many factors influence someone's personality. But I think it is a key factor. To have lost his mother at such a young age must have been traumatic.
That's not true though, is it? If he just sat there with a glazed expression and hardly said a word people would soon go off him. He's talking realistically here about improvisation, which is good, because Stewart Lee (way back in the 1990s) talked about his thing of going 'errrrr' all the time, which made it seem like he'd just thought of something that he'd actually written and rehearsed. If people were honest, they'd admit that a lot of their love for him was really their projected fantasy of being so 'spontaneously' and 'effortlessly' funny with their friends. I still think he's really funny, but it's just good observational humour, and that should be enough.

@EireForUs Because Tommy obviously doesn't have a problem with accepting Eddie as they are and not judging. Eddie or Suzy, I don't care. What does it matter. They're a person, a human being. NOT a thing. Please don't refer to a person as a thing. That's such a disgusting attitude and hateful. I love Eddie, and always will. I don't care how he or she wants to presents him/herself. I don't give a shit how someone looks and how they dress. If they're a decent, lovely person then that's all that matters. I went and spent my money to go and see Eddie live, just this week. She looked fabulous, was intelligent and funny as hell. Eddie, has tons of friends and supportive fans and does a lot for charity And raises tons of money for charity. You live your life, and don't worry about what other people are doing. There's no need to judge or be rude about them. If you don't like Eddie, then don't watch and don't say anything. Its okay that im a lone wolf. Im not bad because im alone lots. The light I can bring isn't measured by how long its on or if people have a switch. Thanks guy and girl
so wish Ms. Izzards political career had taken off and hope it's not over...cos VOTE FOR IZZARD!! as surreal and tangential as they get, always making more sense than the (apparently non-comedic) politicians who're desperate for our votes and confidence. Eddie's had me convinced for decades that i want them at the upper echelons of political voice, but worry they'd be negatively subverted by those restrictions and have to leave all the good stuff behind.
Well that was an hour shorter than I hoped it would be ! Grounded people need to pod cast this stuff more often, so the commuters/sheeple have some sanity in their daily commute ? . . . Build well, rest well
Video should be deinterlaced (or better yet, shot in progressive mode to begin with) before being uploaded to RUclips (or any other "digital" platform). Neither computer monitors nor phones are designed for interlaced video, you just get jagged edges whenever things move. Also, it seems this was shot at 25 frames per second and then (badly) converted to 30, so the result is that there's motion jerkiness in addition to the interlacing artefacts. Really should hire someone with a clue about video processing / post-production to make sure the video files work properly on RUclips. It only takes a few minutes to get it right, but you need to know what you're doing.
So, all you people here saying how awful Eddie is, just because she is different, why the heck are you even here? And a bunch of you saying how she is full of himself...and you aren't because you have to put someone else down because they are different than you? Please, y'all. Love all the people!! Some of them are different than you!! Oh noooooooo!!!!!!!
The more I see of Tommy Tiernan, the more I respect and like him.
I've always found that one of the reasons I love Eddie so much is his pure sincerity. It makes him easier to love.
How is a man pretending to be a woman pure sincerity?
