- We picked up a set of the Grabber ATX, the new all-terrain tire offering from General that replaces the AT2 and boasts a 3-peak mountain snowflake rating in addition to improved rubber compound technology. In this episode of Trash Panda Garage we go over this tire and talk about why we'll be running them on our project truck.

I can say that these ATXs are the best snow tires for the money!
I have them on my Ford F-150s and Toyota 4runner (all 4WD) here in upstate Michigan.
The only thing better would be true snow tires.
I have run all the big brands (BFG, Toyo, Nitto, etc.) and they out preform them all.
Great wet traction and gravel/sand.
You can air down and the sidewalls are great.
Can't say enough good about them!
Buy em! 🦅🇺🇸👍
Good to know!
I was going to get Wildpeaks again, but these look so much better for a few dollars per tire more.
Just put a set on 2011 Tacoma 4x4 Base. Bought them at Tire buyer. The first set I received were junk!! Way out of round!! Sent them back and got another set and one of those was warped and took 14ozs to balance. sent it back and the one they sent was ok! Just checked the mileage and lost 6 mpg!! Was getting 20-21 mpg with my old Hankook ATM. Now only 14 mpg. They seem to handled ok and are good in the rain so far. They are kind of bouncy and unsettled but than again my truck rides crappy anyways. They are quieter than the old tires but these are new and should be quieter. Will see how they do in the snow in a few months.
HAHA! Just re- did my math. Getting 20.23 mpg with the A/Tx.
I had a set of Grabber X3's on a different rig. They drove decent but took quite a bit of weight to balance. In the back of my mind I was thinking these ATX's might be the same story, but turned out to not be the case. Sorry to hear the first set you got were junk.
biggetl 🤦♂️
Have you been happy with the tire? Any issues? Any balancing issues? Ant sidewall issues?
I just ordered some of these for my Xterra!
Nice! What size? 285's??
@@TrashPandaGarage yep! just got them on a few days ago!
@@TrashPandaGarage also ive got about a 2" lift, so far no issues with rubbing.
How are you liking the General Grabbers?
We ended up donating these tires to our Gambler 500 build, a Dodge Durango that actually has the same bolt pattern as the Nissan we originally purchased the wheels for. We only put a couple hundred miles on them for the Gambler, which was a mix of pavement and sand, but they did great. Super quiet on the road. After the Gambler was over I sold them to a buddy who's going to mount them on his Ford F-250. I may still end up ordering another set for a different set of wheels we picked up for the Nissan.
@@TrashPandaGarage thanks for the info
Who out there is already running these General Grabber ATX tires? Any thoughts on snow performance?
Trash Panda Garage They seem to be rating at the top of the food chain on TireRack.
@@Icutmetal Thanks for the heads up! I didn't even think to look at Tire Rack until you said something. Quite a few reviews on there posted within the last year or so in which the reviewers are talking pretty positively about snow performance. Fingers crossed that they work that well in both fresh and packed snow.
There awesome in the snow.
you have a raccoon on your logo, not a panda)
No shit? What do you think a “trash panda” is?
@@Icutmetal oh, slang😏
285/75 is a 34" tire
It is on a 17" wheel. However, these are 285/75R16. Per the General website, these particular tires have a diameter of 32.8". Thanks for checking out our video!
Sorry, thought you said 17.
What about 285/70 on 17?
@@senderoverland depends on the manufacturer. Could be anywhere from 32" to 33" My goodyear tires say 33" on the manufacturer website but are closer to 32.5
It’s basic math to convert metric tire size to inches.
