Where was the chicken, mac and cheese, greens, etc...this was the worst of soul food.
Jackson Herod exactly!!!
Jackson Herod agreed
Yep, they left out a lot of good food.
Jackson Herod they did this with Chinese snacks too, worst ones
fed them chittlins! lol but said hey no mac and cheese or green beans and bacon
When i think of soul food I think of fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, yams, pork chops, ribs, corn bread..etc Who the fuck picked this stuff?Redo this the right way!!!
I couldn't agree with you more.whoever picked these dishes picked absolute shot, and they ought to be shoot.!!!!
Luffy SkyWalker This and all this!! Like most of this stuff I have never eaten. Is this soulfood from 1890?
@.@ Don't forget sweet potato pie, the pie that is vegetable so you can eat it for breakfast and not feel bad about your life choices. ^_^ Because it's healthy so it's ok.
Agreed! Please redo this with the above mentioned foods.
dont forget greens!!
This ain’t no damn soul food it looks dry and unseasoned
This is real soul food. What you eat now is modern processed junk food
Right it looks awful
Exactly! Making us look bad lol
@@youtubegains7796 this is fake ass garbage with no soul food to be found, karen.
Real soul food is full of good flavor. It's been probably 30 years since I've had any and it still makes my mouth water thinking about it. Sure do miss it.
Where's the fried chicken, smothered pork chops, the cabbage, the Mac and cheese? Where's the turnip greens. Ox tails and rice. Green beans?
followed by banana pudding. The cobbler was fine, and you can make all kind of fruit cobblers.
quintan caldwell
Amen!!!
Those gentrified hush puppies were sad
fried chicken isn't soul food
And the sweet potatoes 🍠
I'm originally from Australia and live in the American South now. If you don't need to take a nap afterwards, that wasn't soul food.
Preach girl! Can I an amen?
The Itis
You I like
Well said!
Gwen you ain't even from the US and you know what is up lol much love
Chicken? Collards? Mac-n-cheese? Corn bread? Fried catfish? Sweet tea?
The defining dish is the Sweet Tea! No southern soul food meal is complete without sweet tea. And it better be so sweet it'll crack your teeth. Lol
MandaLeigh3 I was thinking the same thing
With a side of boiled peanuts and watermelon!
fuck was the bomb ass pies and pineapple upside cakes? we missing the damn FRIED CHICKEN. how you have a soulfood taste with no crispy ass chicken, and bomb ass shells with cheese? didn't even have pork in the damn black Eyed peas 😡😡
Marco Huevo I just said the same shit, WHERE THE PORK IN THEM BLACK EYED PEAS
That is NOT the “soul food” I grew up on. They had you guys eating “crap”. Pun intended. LOL
R
Actually it is Soul Food.
TVwriter23 not for my soul.
TV writer23 is an idiot. Who ever made that shit damn sure dont know how to cook or have soul. I agree with you harold72 I can name so much wrong with this video.
That's real soul food. What you are eating now is processed modern junk food
What's the pun?
I'm black and I'm confused 🤔 who said this was soul food? I'm going out on a limb and say that a white person made this menu🤦🏾♀️
Their producer is from like New Jersey.
Some kale eating person from iowa did this. I cook soul food often because I grow collards and black eyed peas. This shit they got served made me want to throw my phone. I want to bring these people to my house for some fried chicken, collards, man n cheese and cornbread. Maybe peach cobbler from my tree, since I'm sure that trash was from a can
I'm white and grew up on soul food or what we called just good country cooking. I still cook this way today for my wife and me. Poor white folks from the country ate the same as the black people from the country where I'm from. We all ate good and grew big and strong. We had to eat high-calorie food to do all the work that had to be done on the farm. Whoever cooked that food for them knows nothing about this type of cooking and food. You have to cook this food with love, put your heart and soul in it for the people you are cooking for.
@@fmfdocbotl4358 Ayyy dont disrespect the Midwest like that we dont eat kale and we season our food espescially our soul food at least the black people do for the most part you must be talking about the Cali niggas they be eating kale and broccoli sandwiches and shit not us we more so like savory food like meatloaf toasted ravioli cheesy anything and hotdish. Where im from specifically( Cleveland, Ohio ) Were mainly known for our sandwiches( Roman Burgers, Corned Beef, Polish Boys & Girls and any kind of sausage)Paczis, Peroigis, chili, and Buckeyes. However if you black like me then you probably still eat Soul Food and Im not talking about the shit they ate cause all that shit looked bland asf.
@@xeroabyssdclxvi2570 I am from Jersey and this was not it and while these ingredients are used..this was the worst presentation of the cuisine ever..
This is the equivalent of me giving someone who has never had Irish food, an unseasoned raw potato and calling it Irish food.
10-20 k
10-20 Exactly! I was honestly offended by the crap they tried to pass off as Soul Food!!!
MsNikki1908 I rarely eat soul food, but bland is not a word that you use when talking about soulfood, they fucked up lol
10-20 Omg lol
EXACTLY!!!
i can pretty much guarantee that non of it was made right...soul food is far from bland.
Exactly what I was thinking.....
glory relection Exactly! That's whole point of soul food!

or because it's made in different ways, and people have different palates?
YES I love all of this it looks like they got shitty pig cheek to you need a better butcher and not only that where is the ox tail you give them pig cheek and not ox tail wtf
The cobbler was like... a sponge cake with peaches... that wasn’t cobbled at all 😂😂
N I hope they know they can't just go around eating anybody chitterlings 🤣🤣
Cobbler has to have that sugary flaky crust on top
😒 as southern person I'm not amused at all quite offended 🤦🏿♀️😂
I completely agree with you.
This video just got to Mississippi, I'm mad too 😡
Soul food is not something you can knock off in Ireland. It requires extreme knowledge and skill passed down from generations and generations. Done wrong it will absolutely be awful.
I would also add that real soul food has much in common with Irish food. Because soul food comes from slavery. Slaves had to make do with parts of the pig that their masters didn't want. And they created an amazing cuisine out of it that has lasted over 200 years. The Irish were treated like slaves by the English. They also had to make do with things the English didn't want and create a cuisine out of that. They lived off of potatoes and when the blight hit they starved or left. Both soul food and Irish food is based out of necessity and it took years and massive amounts of skill to perfect it. To take this food then and treat it cavalierly is disgusting.
PREACH!!!!!! #Facts people .... SHAME on you!!!! You are messing up hundreds of years of tradition!!!! Get our food RIGHT!!!!!
wpl ...nearly made me weep, seeing that mess they put down in front of them
Aprilluvv literally can be said for any other ethnic race.
They couldve at least tried to make the good stuff, like fried chicken and mac and cheese and whatnot
Facts needs to hire an actual American person to get authentic American food. Some of this is just confusing.
Exactly
I think part of their gimmick is to try to annoy Americans and generate views by deliberately doing crap like that. Or they're just half-assing their research because they don't actually care about it.
Buzz feed should lead by example. Nothing they make from other countries is true.
Does the title say "American soul food" no it doesn't, get off your cloud and give over already
well if u knew the history...
I can't take this video seriously lol the moment they said the black eyed peas had no flavor, I knew this food wasn't cooked by the correct people lol....also most of that wasn't real soul food.
You have to cook a smoked ham hock in the peas. My mamaw used to make me blackeyed peas and buttermilk cornbread for supper sometimes with creamed corn. I'm glad she helped teach me how to cook because to me soul food was just regular country food and it's getting harder to find a good cafe with this type of food. Everything is out of a can and no seasoning at all most of the time. I cook for me and my wife and she loves my cooking and it makes me smile when she likes it. I like to think I'm cooking like my mamaw and mama did when I was just a child.
Thank you! I knew by the way they said the chitterlings had a bad smell that it wasn't cooked properly. They must have forgotten to clean them first.
@@ecleveland1 now see i can tell by the way you're talking about it, you know exactly how it goes!
@@MChantal76 absolutely!
Who in thee hell thought this was soul food with those choices?!? I’ve never had a hush puppy or pork jowls at ANY family function in the entirety of my life, the fact that the chitterlings had that smell AFTER they’d been cooked meant they weren’t cleaned well enough and that peach cobbler doesn’t look look like any I’ve ever had, EVER!
Blackstone, Virginia and Ferguson, North Carolina says no, just no!
UMMMMM. WHOSE SOUL IS THIS??!! Not me not my people not my culture. This ain't Black people soul food.
It's not even white people soul food.
Alethia Hoff haaaa lmao
Alethia Hoff no its not lmao
Lol, it represents neither demographic. Pretty sad..
diarra young are you from the U.S? If so, what part? Just curious because all this is southern style African American soul food.
Where was the corn bread? The gumbo? The fried okra? The mac and cheese? The vinegar collard greens? The sweet potato casserole? The actual Southern buttermilk fried chicken? The fried catfish to go with those hush puppies? The red beans and rice? The homemade ice cream with real hunks of ripe peach in it? The pies (oh god, the pies)? Where was the coleslaw, the auntie's potato salad, the buttermilk (American) biscuits with butter and apple or peach butter? Where was the ice tea? Where was the jambalaya?
And why didn't they give you a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream on that peach cobbler?
Ya'll were ROBBED. Again. They gave you (except the peach cobbler) the shittiest, least popular, most difficult to make correctly dishes that could be described as soul food. Goddamn, whomever is doing the research for these videos needs to interview some people from the cultures they're profiling.
Seriously, if ya'll will pay for my plane tickets, I'll fly in there and make actual soul food for you. You'd get much better reactions from your poor staff if they were eating something made by someone who actually knows the recipes involved.
Sure, but those best chefs in any nation have access to recipes, techniques, and ingredients that this shoot apparently didn't have, and that an outsider to the culture typically wouldn't.
mouthyb you just made me so dang hungry! Yum to all of that!
mouthyb I bet they'd be speechless after one bite.
There was another video about them eating Southern food.
An Irish person calling American food bland is some shit I never thought I’d hear.
I have neva seen peach cobbler cut in a slice🤦🏾♂️NO MAAM.they need a better cook ,none of it look good.soul food is the best,if it done rt
me either....white people from the south even know better than that.
White folks in the North even know this =]
Ain’t a lick of soul food bland.
I'm Irish, so Americans please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought soul food was like fried chicken, biscuits and gravy, mac n cheese, collard greens, that sort of thing?
Yes honey! You get a gold star. Come to Virginia and we will learn you on how to make real Soul Food!
You're almost spot on. These shites just don't know how to cook American food
Everything you named is soul food... I don't know what that crap was that they served them! XD
"Soul food" was originally the food of American slaves in the south so a lot of it was the left over parts like chitterlings, pigs feet jowls and collard greens.
Rachel Brady look man idk what they thought they was eating, but you hit it on the nail
Who's making the fucking food?
Their Irish chef
He is trash at cooking
Arion Coleman he's probably Irish... knows nothing about soul food 😤
Then again, it's hard to get chitterlings to taste decent.
Ikr white people wouldn't call this soul food
Warning: This is NOT legit soul food! We need a retake please!
"Peach was the name of the pig" I'm crying😂😂😂
That didn’t look like what I know to be peach cobbler.
"Tastes like arse"....Yep...they do😵
IRELAND, THIS ISN'T OUR SOUL FOOD, DON'T BELIEVE THIS!

Well be honest its old school soul food.
They just didn't cook or season it right
It's not at all .. pisses me off lol
Whoever gave y’all that food really failed y’all taste buds... the black eye peas didn’t look like it was cooked in smoked meat greens aren’t made with bacon... they should have given y’all a full southern plate... Greens with hot water cornbread sweet potatoes Mac and cheese black eye peas buttermilk fried chicken with a side of hot sauce and Some sweet tea!!!
oh we know these buzzfeed things are full of shite they made an arse of our irish food to
Agree!
Black eyed peas...bland?? Lord help these lost souls. Be their shepherd, and guide their lanterns! Someone in that kitchen bought shitty canned black eyed peas and probably cooked them unseasoned.. I weep lol
Kamilla Verona you know what, that's probably exactly what happened.
not one ham hock in sight
ROTFLMAO!!! (^O^)

I didn't even watch the video. I just went straight to the comments and folks are up in here praying? I don't know if I wanna watch now.lol
I never had hush puppies at a black event
Ya'll need to come to the South and have some real Southern food made by Southern folks...

The prob didn't clean the damn things right. They also looked sorta large...
Dtrollmancan you gotta boil the shit out of em
Dwyne S LITERALLY, right😂😂😂😂😂
ahahaha you said it
Who in the hell said this was soul food???
Should have been labeled "Irish People Taste Test Southern Food." Huge difference between southern food and soul food.
This still wouldn't be good southern food.. I'm from New Orleans and when I go to cook out they don't eat that stuff.. So that's neither soul food or southern food. That food is a disgrace.. A disrespect to the culture..
Those blackeyed peas were missing an AMPLE supply of HAM and HAM BONE for seasoning. Did a REAL southerner prepare any of these?!?
Vicki Noble also hotsauce. maybe that's just me
Vicki Noble my biggest issue with the black eyes is that they were served without cornbread!! Never in my life have I seen such a thing?!!!!
Ketchup for me. Where was the ketchup?
Man, I was OFFENDED by those black eyed peas.
And cornbread.
Okay, someone has disgraced the food of my people. Where is the homemade fried chicken, Mac and cheese, cornbread and collard greens?! And the peach cobbler could've been made better than that. Whoever is making that, DON'T KNOW HOW TO COOK.
Exactly my thoughts
Chalres Kirkland or not to be racist isn’t BLACK
good point... like the name. Plus, we use to eat our chitllings with vinigar and collards.
Guy Kirkland I am SAY ING! It’s like they just gave them ingredients instead of a dish. What pricks
Here here ! Yasss
My definition of soul food is something that makes you sing inside , like you get a body high from eating it, it reminds you of good memories and times. Makes you happy inside and out , cooked from the soul
There’s a saying on the farm you don’t let anything go to waste when you’re butchering out a hog, you use everything from the “rooter to the rooter”
What the hell! This was not Soul Food. Where's the fried chicken, 🌽 bread, collard greens, sticky rice, macaroni & cheese, cubed steak, Lima beans, hot sauce, pecan pie, pound cake, sweet tea, and Grape Kool Aid. Whoever made this video don't know Jack shit about Soul Food.
I thought you said marijuana and cheese. Damn I need sleep.
Right I was thinking the same thing I need my fried chicken and greens with my soul food plus corn bread
Lj Cooks 😂😂😂😂 Deadass bro
Damn I'm hungry now... lol. But a lot of the foods you mentioned are more new age soul foods. Back during the time of slavery, slaves were given the scraps the slave owners didn't find appealing. So things like fried chicken, mac and cheese, and cube steak weren't really inclusive until slavery was abolished. This was more (poorly made) old school food, and grossly misrepresents the the cuisine that soul food is now. Plus you know that shit was probably cooked by John the camera man who googled the recipies lol. They should of got someone who knows how to put their foot in it
Lj Cooks isn’t corn bread, fried chicken, mac & cheese, and pecan pie white southern people food? Like, I get that they’re also part of soul food, but technically not invented by Afro Americans?
I hope y'all realize that y'all just triggered every person with southern roots and soul food in their blood. I don't know what that trash is, but it is not soul food.
You mean southern food....
Who ever cooked that, they fuckin up
they prolly got any recipe they found, then cooked it. thats why its horrid..their cook is not that good
jason cash white people cook southern black people cook soul. You can taste the difference. Not joking, you can taste the age of a recipe in soul food.
I know!!! I’m like, bland?!?!
I want to see the person who cooked the food.....and you know exactly why
"Shite Pipe" is the name of my new death metal band. First single will be "Whiff of Colon".
*I'm a bit offended!...This was a poor representation of "Soul food", and you need someone from "The Black Delegation" to advise you on this. You need a do over, or at least a part two. Here's the required food list, 1.Sweet potato pie 2. Collard greens/smoked neck bones 3.Baked macaroni with cheese((At least 4 cheeses)) 4.Turkey Wings 5.Ox tails 6.Cabbage 7.Cornbread 8. Soul sausage...Look, I can go on, and on!...C'mon, Feed these thin Irish people some real, down home, American Soul food, or else!...Okay, or at least watch the movie "Soul Food".*
shawna lewine....IKR...wko is cooking for them?! I'm slightly offended. lol
shawna lewine yassssss
And don't forget the cornbread to soak up the pot liquor in the greens!
shawna lewine They should have consulted with black twitter!!!
Now hang on one damn minute. I am a white guy from Alabama and that list you just rattled off was what I was raised on. Back in the 60's and 70's for me this wasn't "soul food" it was just food. My mom made the best damn gumbo ever as well. I didn't inherit much but I did get that gumbo recipe and a cast iron skillet that has over a hundred years of love infused into it. I kind of laugh when people think soul food is a "black thing". To me, soul food is food cooked from a tradition of making wonderful dishes when there was never enough money but always plenty of love to put in the pan.
I'm curious about who did the cooking here. I live in "soul food country" and the cook 100% matters. The number of times someone said "bland" is where my doubts are coming from. Bland hush puppies? Something's wrong.
I felt the same way lol
Agreed. 90% of the "Soul Food" restaurants I go to leave me unimpressed. You find that one special place though and you to at least once a week.
finecommathanks I’m glad someone said something
Exactly. Most soul food can only be prepared properly by either a mother or grandmother.
+finecommathanks I believe their "chef" tries to cook everything according to modern variations and not the way it is actually cooked by normal people in normal kitchens.
They probably should fire their chef because that person seems to screw up every single dish they try to make.
THIS CAN ONLY BE SOUL FOOD IF SOMEONE WHO IS BLACK AMERICAN PREPPARED IT AND ACTUALLY INCORPERATED OUR SEASONINGS AND COOKING STYLES AND TRICKS
"It really washes down the taste of arse." LMAO
OMG...Dear Irish people that was not real soul food. Please find someone else to cook your food and re-do this video.
This is a disgrace to the entire Southern community lmao
Soul food is not representation of Southern Community,,,
Thinkthank Indonesia tbh it actually is. It's part of what represents the South. The South is known for soul food. It's also known for other things as well.
Thinkthank Indonesia if you're from the South you would know this. Especially if you were from Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Tennessee, etc.
So I would say Soul Food is part of Southern Community cuisine but not the representation of Southern Community in general, because there is element of Soul Food in Southern Cuisine especially in seasoning and battering and also some original African ingredients but dont called them Soul Food, its just different kind of food.
Thinkthank Indonesia I agree that it's part of the cuisine. But the South is highly known for the food we have, and if someone comes down here for vacation and try to eat some good soul food, they'll get disappointed if they go to the wrong place. Then their negative comments on the food sort of "affects" what the South's cuisine is known for. That's my opinion on it. But I do agree with your opinion as well.
If there's an American cuisine that's not bland, it's soul food. Who prepared that food for you?
"It's like something my grandmother would have made if she wasn't a drunken wreck all the time"
Who cooked that crap? 71 years cooking here, never cook anything like that stuff.

They are in Ireland so it must have been an irishman that made it.
I feel like the person who made this read a history book and then looked up the soul food examples from the history book and threw them together, rather than doing research or asking an actual black american or southerner
lmaooooo
One thing that helps when eating unfamiliar food, actually having someone prepare it the correct way!
Wth is this crap😂Damn I'm country and we eat the same foods and these are not them!
Tip: if you have to use the word bland, throw that shit out😂soul food and bland don't go together
None of that looked like it was cooked or seasoned properly
This video inspires a lot of hate at the reactors. Really their research department has no clue what they're doing, and their crew can't cook. Channels this bi it's a real job, fire your researchers and get new ones. Or get at least 1 person who has ever stepped foot on American soil to go... that's not right. Haven't watched their thanksgiving episode yet, but I feel it may not have turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, or gravy based on this video.
WHAT THE FUCK. I was kidding, but they had none of it. It's not even that you haven't been to America, it's that they've never even seen a movie. The stereotypes are kinda accurate, how did they even find that shit.
That's because the Irish made it, ooooooohhhhh!
A great cook/chef does both, and soul food thats cooked and seasoned properly looks like it.
I said what I said...and Idgaf where you studied, what experience you claim to have or any award you claimed to have been awarded. I'll take my grandma's, great-grandma's expertise on soul food over yours. Thanks.
That's not peach cobbler. Thats cake with a peach slice in it. Cobbler is a ton of stewed fruit with a moderate amount of granola or biscuit topping and a ton of crumble made from cinnamon, butter, and sugar on top.
I was thinking the same thing... silly Europeans
There's different recipes for the top of the cobbler, but I think we can agree that the ratio of fruit to topping was way off.
It also looked very dry, whatever that cake was.
Old dude called it sponge 😳
I don't know about you but when she called chitlings shiite pipe I was rolling. First time hearing it can't wait till I get the opportunity to use it in a conversation.🤣🤣🤣

Karpov Liam Not necessarily. Some people make it with a cake batter poured on top of peaches.
Where were the damn peaches?

Yes!!!
candie baybe you don't have to be black to know this isn't good soul food! It was a poor imitation...collards, pork chops, fried chicken, Mac n cheese and a good cobbler with some iced tea.
how about some real soul food?!?
Sour Bae yes please because black eyed peas are not bland, hush puppies are only served with seafood, and peach cobbler where I'm from doesn't look like cake with a little bit of peaches.
serve them ox tails, fried pork chops, collard greens, homemade Mac and cheese, corn bread, ho cakes, corn bread fried in a cast iron skillet, fried chicken, and cabbage. and please have expert cook it because soul food needs lots of love and flavor
love, flavor ... and lard.
Tom Leonard so ? I don't think people use Lard in soul food they use real oil

Easy peach cobbler is I can peaches 1 stick butter, 1 cup self rising flour 1 cup sugar and I cup milk. Melt butter in a dish, pour in can of peaches. Mix dry ingredients together pour into pan with peaches, bake until bubbly and golden on top. PEACH COBBLER
"Again, very bland"
That's because you keep getting sides instead of the full meal of pulled pork barbecue, cornbread, catfish goujon, pineapple salsa, corn and bean sukertash, mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, ribs, gumbo, chicken jambalaya, and collared greens.

Peach cobbler
1 cup flour

1 cup milk
1 stick of butter
1 large can of sliced peaches (I drain off most of the juice)
Melt butter, add to flour, sugar, and milk, mix well. Pour into a 9 by 13 inch pan and add peaches. Bake at 400 degrees for about 20 to 25 minutes. Enjoy
What the heck is this?!?😂😂 y’all should’ve flown a black Grandma to Ireland to really show what soul food is. First of all, we don’t eat pig jowl (unless we’re in the backwoods). Second of all, you could see the chitterlings weren’t cleaned properly. Thirdly, WHAT THE HECK KINDA PEACH COBBLER WAS THAT?!?! look I know we don't know each other but I'm a honest truthful faithful man and if u know how to cook all those things u listed off I would like to marry u I promise ill be loyal to the core
These are ingredients that African Americans and impoverished southerners ate post civil war. This is not soul food. Soul food is what came from years of perfecting these ingredients into amazing dishes.
GoldenState “poor people food” can you start paying my grocery bill? The money that I pay is definitely not “poor.”
GoldenState Uhhh, Soul Food is high level cuisine u disrespectful twit.
we aint african or americans we black

Can't, the cook was used in the chitlings....
Soul food is tasty when PREPARED properly. I have never seen Black-eyed peas with chicken chunks mixed in. Where did you get this? Very, very, poor representation
Omg! I am horribly offended, take the poor people to New Orleans to Camilia Grill.
Bep must have fat back . Chittling where not cleaned if they tasted shyt
Who cooked the soul food in Ireland? Just curious, that's all.
Irish People attempt to cook soul food for other Irish People
Fact💯💯💯
I see your Benny & Joon reference, and I appreciate it. (:
smothered turkey necks, neck bones, greens, cornbread, green bean casserole broccoli/rice and cheese casserole, candied yams...pork cracklin...
I almost threw my phone when I saw that sad excuse for peach cobbler. That looked like a pie slice of cornbread with a peach wedge. Bruh.. 1000 angry southern grandmothers cursed the cook 😂😂😂 I felt it
Peach was the name of the pig...remember?
I'll take a fried peach pie over whatever the heck that was! Also, what was on the peas because it certainly wasn't a ham hock and where was the okra
Varsity peach pie wins every day
Lmao I felt it too 😂😂😂
😂😂😂💀
Black girl born and raised in the south and this is a poor representation of soul food. 👎🏾 Should of had Fried chicken mac-cheese greens and some dressing. All homemade. That food looked like crap. Sorry but that ain't soul food.😕
Where is the fried chicken, the baked beans, the apple pie, the baked Mack and cheese, the barbecue ribs. That is soul food, REAL soul food.
Blackened peas taste like beautiful loveliness! That keep saying that the food is bland. Where the hell is the fried chicken!
can the next video be "Irish people taste test American Soul food"? because idk what this was.
levi james Yes!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Amen to that. Also, as far as I can tell, you need at least two little old black grannies to be in the kitchen to imbue the soul food with their love and clever wit.
Triumvirate888 yes of course!!!
This was all legit soul food, but if they can't eat it, then it wasn't cooked right. Hell, you need a Southern cook to make it.

Mashed potatoes and brown gravy are very popular in ireland!!
You have to have a person cook soul food that knows what they are doing.
Chitterlings (Chitt-lins) Is actually a dying tradition. It's one of those olde tyme foods that few among the younger generation Americans would eat.
That wasn't peach cobbler looked like peach cornbread
As someone who lives and breathes soul food cooking. This food looks REVOLTING!
They should have got someone better to cook it
You can't get soul food unless you're in the south whoever made that garbage is a disgrace
Bro I was waiting for this comment bro part of me feels like they made it bad on Purpose
@@brandonmcdonald7761yeah they're doing a Fear Factor type of thing here.
I’m white as a ghost and even I know the issue is in the preparation, not the ingredients. It was disgusting and a disservice to soul food.
Never had chitlins but was told that, if you can smell them, they aren't thoroughly cleaned. My grandmother cooked soup beans with jowl bacon...never saw it fried before.
"That looks like something my grandmother would have made......if she wasn't a drunken wreck all the time."
I cannot possibly think of words in any language that so stereotypically and at the same time realistically define the Irish.
That wasn't even close to peach cobbler. That was spice cake with a peach slice. Nope.
lumariadp yeah, I thought things couldn't get worse till they brought out that faux cobbler
i was so disappointed in looking at that cobbler its so sad
lumariadp I wasn't gonna complain until I saw the raggly ass "peach cobbler"
To be fair while not even vaguely being cobbler it did look pretty tasty.
I came here to say I ain't NEVA seen a peach cobbler like that...
Y'all, no. Who gave this to you and called is soul food? They served you lies.
U win! Nothing else necessary 2 say.
😂🤣🤣
I'm late to watching this video and I want to fly my family over to represent!... This is misrepresentation!!! I don't even eat potato salad and I'm required by family bylaws to bring it twice a year at least. Real soul food have you wanting to slap yo mama and dance after!!!
I knew this was off when she said it's bland.
Soul food is a lot of things but it is NEVER BLAND!!
I knew they were going to mess soul food up
LOL yall need to delete this video and apologize to your staff for making them eat whatever nasty shit you just gave them
And take them to the hospital.
Nia W. I have no doubt it was bland too.
I'm starting to wonder if the people in charge of these vids just enjoy trashing America, and purposefully give their reactors the worst possible examples of American food.
Solora Goldsun im starting to think that too.
Solora Goldsun ...and they never cook it right lol and then want to talk about us complaining in the comments like they're not legit complaints.
"WAS THAT A FART!? " lmao dead
He said and I'm still chewing! Lol haha
WHAT NO FRIED CHIKEN NO COLARD GREENS NO FRIED CAT FISH WTF
seoulkidd1 no, yams, buttermilk bisquits, chicken n dumblings, fried green tomatoes. Dont get me started.
No collard or turnip greens, fried okra, fat back, baked mac n cheese, meatloaf, potato egg salad, pulled pork bbq. This video is a lie!
fried chicken sweet jesus god bless the south send me some fried chicken please in the name of god, the type of chicken you just bite and its a crispy crunch with spices, this is like porn talk someone tell me how much a flight is to the south
Why didn't they put the hog jowl IN the black eyed peas?! Amateurs.
Yeah. This is abysmal. C'mon. I'm from the upper Midwest and I can tell you that they did it wrong.
Y'all need to redo this video with real soul food.
You're supposed to cook the pork jowl into the black-eyed pea beans. They actually ate the pork jowls straight.
When I was in high school our small photography class went on a field trip to Harlem. We had delicious food at Sylvia’s and we went to the Apollo Theatre.
