What a great tune!! It has that Scott Henderson vibe happening!!! The pedal is cool too!!
Great demo of a fantastic pedal Shawn.
I have this on my board with a Kasleder Toxic Twins. The Unobtanium's Klon side boosting the Blues Breaker side of the Toxic Twins is possibly the best overdrive tone I've ever had. It's changed the way I play. I leave much more space in my lead playing now to allow the tone to shine. Thanks to the guys at CTC (and Albert at Kasleder) for putting such great tones in an affordable pedal.
So great to finally see and hear a demo of a pedal by someone who can actually play.
I'm loving this intro! tones and music are fantastic. This pedal circuit sounds tremendous.
What a killer sounding track Shawn. Love the combination of the Unobtanium pedal through the Suhr Bella amp with that gorgeous R9 Les Paul. Love your playing Shawn - so inspiring. Thank you for your videos.
Great demo as always! Your playing inspires me every single time. 🤘
Fantastic overview - can’t wait to add this to my board 😮
WOW Dude, crazy great playing ! Excellent demo. Subscribed.
Wow, this pedal really unleashed your inner Robben Ford! Great playing and composition as usual.
Thank you for the review!!! You ROCK!!! 🤘🏽🚀🍷
Crazy cool jam!
With the external switch, this could be an all in one gain solution for a lot of people. Cool demo as always Shawn!
Man that intro needs to be a song.
Beautiful playing!
yeah...he SHOULD have about a gabillion subscribers. Insanely tasteful picker.
love this combination and boy this pedal DELIVERS it it sounds like.
Great playing in intro !
Great pedal.....from Greece!!!
Killer intro as always 🔥
Super review.... very informative.
So it’s not called the Klumble?
Dumblon
Much better
Dumblond?
Have you stumbled on a klumble?
@@ShawnTubbs I took a tumble from the rumble now my heads all a jumble.
Sounds really great, but you always do. I have ordered one, it's on the way
The fx loop should allow for people to use both sides independently in loopers as well. Stellar vid as always!
Hey Shawn Alfred here 🙂. Sounds great! Love the intro! So today I received my first Martin guitar. D-41 and your wearing a Martin T shirt! I guess it was meant to be!
Haha, nice! Good for you man!
Legend
Dude, you are a monster player. That’s one thing that’s lost on a lot of gear junkies, I think. If you’re a good player, you’re gonna make it sound. Pedals and amps are tools…the important part is *always* the playing.
Hey Sean, great video and as always, awesome playing! FYI: almost any pedal that is on is sort of "buffering" the signal by converting it from high to low impedance. The buffer on/off switch only affects the tone when the pedal is in bypass, as in true bypass or buffered bypass. When on, the buffer is also on, regardless of the switch position ;)
GREAT tune! Fantastic playing, as usual! GREAT BASS LINES! Was it you on the bass? Great tones.
Merci 👍🏻
Interesting idea and humorous name. I always thought that D and K pedals work well together. It's not really the sound I'm after right now, but if I ever was I'd definitely obtain a K type pedal to boost my Kondo Shifuku.
This unit is a great idea “in concept/on paper.” In actual TONE, however, it’s sounding a little harsh/buzzy IMO. Nothing that a plethora of other distortion pedals thru the years couldn’t handle. Not the “punchiness” I would expect from one side of the pedal, nor the smoothness/warmth I would expect from the other side of the pedal. Stellar playing as always though, Shawn!
Great demo as always, Shawn. I'm curious if you would compare on the compelling advantages of the Unobtanium and your signature Tilt pedal. I'm looking for a w channel pedal with a versatile boost and versatile overdrive. I quite like the tonal adjustment design of your Tilt pedal's boost side, but I'm torn between the overdrive sides of both pedals. I am currently "leaning" towards the Tilt pedal...pun intended.
Never been that keen on the K type sound but I'm a huge fan of the Dumble. I've got a Zendrive and an Ultraphonix but if CTC were to release a pedal with the Dumble side only--at half the price!!--I would probably buy it.
Right on, thanks for watching and for chiming in!
hey, sean! another great video. Q: which amp were you using, there? the base tone seemed key to the pedal's-tones.
I pretty much always use my Suhr Bella. On occasion, I'll use my Friedman DS 40 if I'm demoing something along the lines of a clean boost.
👊🏻🔥
Call it the klumble.
Remember folks, he can make a wet phone book sound legendary. (Searching this pedal after this comment posts)
Is there any way to get the backing track?
A bit late, but I guess I missed your post 2 months ago. Another great informative demo. The question is: would you put this pedal on your board or would you prefer two other pedals that do the Klon and Dumble thing well?
You would need another one...because it's to different Dumble style circuits in one pedal.
@@joserra79You can add a footswitch to switch between the two Dumble types on the fly.
I'm interested in this pedal. I have a fender 2x12 deville ML signature. Would you recommend this pedal or the marshal blues breaker for john mayer style tone?
If you just want a bb tone, go with the Marshall. This pedal is more along the lines of a Dumble style along with a Klon.
Only thing missing in this pedal is the ability to switch to what is the first section in the line, a to b or b to a... Unfortunately it comes out at exactly the same time as the Cornerstone pedal which I think is a bit more useful..
On the other hand, this one can run in a loop switcher, and you can switch the order that way and reorder with all your other drive pedals. That cornerstone pedal does look nice for sure. I already have the jhs double barrel to do the modded TS thing. I think it would pair well with this pedal into a mostly clean fender. Only one way to find out 😉
Awesome! Ur opinion, gladio + klon vs this???
Hmmm. Do you already have a Gladio?
@@ShawnTubbs yes I do actually and was wondering if this would be a step up?
This or the imperium by conerstone ?!:)))😊
Are these good for Vox Ac15 style amps?
IMHO yes.
What brand of amp is in use?
Suhr Bella
@@ShawnTubbs sounds great
drunch vs fuzz on this 7 string...eye need all new shit.
