Killer tones, killer playing. You sold me almost on this.... I've a klon style pedal already so maybe a Warmaudio Warmdrive will give me that Dumble sound. Live is about choices.... Keep on rockin!

Man, I think your demo was the best at making the Unobtainable sound amazing. Most demos are very good. However, I think you were able to capture a more Dumble sound over the Klon. I may be wrong but it’s what I think. Great job! Great playing too.

I don’t mind that though, this way I can focus on themes and gear I personally find amazing and interesting. You should've compared the left side with a Zendrive. It definitely looks to me like a Klon stacked on a Zendrive.
I like it! Especially with the added effects loop as my older amp hasn’t one. Really not bad pricing as well. Not in the state’s yet but I see it’s 300 euros so it will be comparable here. Good job Kris!

It always surprises me to see that OD pedals are still being released and getting pushed into the market. Often (like in this case) their story gets told around an iconic template (Dunble & Klon in this case). It must be the astronomical margins (especially for OD pedals) and the relatively low entry barrier to the market which make this business so interesting. Most of them however suck tone. The compression inherent to the design often makes every guitar almost sound the same - which is a shame. Playing through a tube amp with a good booster pedal is for me far more enjoyable. ... and I do not believe the story that there is something like a Dumble amp in a pedal.
Its great sounding pedal, that has that Amp feel/sound (lately there has been lot of DS1 and other old boss pedals demos and I realized, they all has pedal sound and how lucky with pedals are we today).
But with what cames lately, it does not gets me going. With Tilt, Blackbird and mainly Vintage king, this pedal just sound "good". Those sounded like "OMG, I NEED that in my life".
PS: I feel like your chops and licks lately are super tight and polished. Have you been practicing more recently? Anyway keep it comming

I wonder how this would compare to my ODS live and also the pedal into the amp it simulates. That 07:09 piece is the best I've ever heard a Les Paul sound!
Reminds me of the Jam Pedals Lucy Dreamer Supreme I had. Great tones, many possibilities, multi directional from OD to Boost and vice-versa, FX Loop and jacks for 2 ! expression pedals to control the intensity of the effects... Conclusion: there were so many tweaks and options I ended up selling it and getting back to more simple, basic and nonetheless great tones, like a Boss SD-2 with a boost or a compressor in front, or my ever-favorite pedal of all: the Super-Signa OD/Boost from CmatMods. Never had a bad tone through this pedal with any guitar or amp. Just a few quick adjustments on the gain and 3 band EQ and off it goes !

wow, what an amazing opening tune... sounded amazing and sweet playing. just out of curiosity, rev with a captor x? hope so, as i'm waiting for my captor x to arrive. own ir's or off unit? sounds very open and clear and like a really nice cabinet. pedal sounds great too
Thanks a lot! Actually I always use a mixture of Captor X and the OX Box. Rhythm guitars and bass are Captor X and the main guitar (that take that I recorded with the camera) is the OX. Both are crazy good and I use basic cab simulations with them. A Two Rock 2x12 in the Captor and a boutique 2x12 in the OX.

Ok--question from a guy that plays a wide variety of music in different bands (and was looking for a Klon-type drive, but then I happened across the unobtanium). This? Or keep it simple and go a bit cheaper with the Centavo (saw your other review)?
Crazy Tube Circuits Unobtanium or the Kasleder Toxic Twins, which one do you prefer for blues/rock sounds?

I can’t speak for the Unobtainium since I don’t own one, but the Toxic Twins is my favorite overdrive pedal to date. The sensitivity to picking dynamics are insane. I am a huge advocate of that pedal. Feels amazing and sounds excellent
Hows this klon compare to the warm audio klon
Try a cmod brownie distortion with a klone boost with a kick ass Valve amp cranked. Fender twin black face then U will have the best rock sound in the world

Hey Kris would you say the Unobtanium Klon is as good as the Centavo WarmAudio pedal? I'm weighing up whether to get a Centavo or the Unobtanium... now you've had a chance to use the Warm Audio pedal any thoughts would be appreciated...
Oh absolutely. Both do an amazing job at giving you the Klon experience and they sound very very similar. The Warm has the visual mojo factor of course (let's not underestimate that, haha) and the Unobtanium has a killer Dumble side too... It's a matter of what you need. Tone and quality seems to be equally awesome on both.
