I agree with all you've said of CTC, they are imaginative about their pedal builds. One thing I've noticed with all their overdrive pedals so far, is that they also retain excellent fidelity. Much better than their competition.
So far, I have the Crossfire, Space Charged V2, Black Magic, and the Magnifier. All of these sound great either going into a clean amp, or direct into my DAW, and I haven't even added any of the power amp/cab sim pedals to those yet.
The fact that you're not afraid to twist the knobs on a pedal like this and get into it, really shows the potential in these pedals.

Wow! The ultimate combo!👍 Something about your strat tone changed! Is it just the IRs? Sounds more full bodied.
The thing I like about the Dumble tone is the 80s version's mid character, how it blooms when u hold the note. It's incredible! I had a Ceriatone HRM which was like that. Sadly, sold it many years ago.
Yeah the EV IR is super fat and warm vs the typical greenback thing I use which is a lot more mid/upper mid focused
i just got this pedal today. I've been playing with it, but I'm on the fence if it makes the gig pedal board. Will you be putting it on yours? I feel like it's a single coil focused pedal, and I only play humbuckers (mainly a hot-rodded Les Paul Standard 60s, hot-rodded SG standard, or a McCarty 594). On my board now is a Friedman BE-OD in front of a Klon and 1981 Drv (I don't use the Klon or the 1981 DRV at the same time) through a cleanish Marshall.
how would this pair with a double hot cake?

Can you use it as a preamp into effects return into power amp as is possible with the ctc crossfire ?

Yeah there's plenty of output to hit a power amp. I prefer it into a clean amp but you can definitely make that work.
