"I said to Freddie, ‘I don’t want you strain yourself - this stuff isn't going to be easy in full voice, even for you!’ Freddie always used to say, ‘Oh Brian, you’re f**king making me tear my throat to bits again!’ I remember apologizing in advance. Freddie pushed his voice to ridiculous heights. He still had astonishing power in his lungs. His vocals were surprisingly strong at times. He chose to push himself and go higher and higher. We looked at each other and knew there was a mountain to climb. That’s when the vodka really went down. He said, ‘Don’t worry - I’ll f***ing nail it, Darling!’. He then downed a couple of his favourite shots of vodka. Propped himself up against the mixing desk, and… delivered one of the most extraordinary performances of his life. " Brian May You can find many videos on the Queen's official channel, I think they never block the reactions.
This is a compilation video for 2 reasons. 1) Freddie was too ill 2) It represents the Greatest hits 2 compilation of all the songs that the band created between 1981 to 1991. Under Pressure, Body Language, Staying Power, Backchat, Las Palabras Des Amor, Radio Ga Ga, I want to Break Free, Its a hard life, Hammer to Fall, One Vision, Its a kind of Magic, Friends will be friends, Princes of the Universe, I want it all, Breakthru, Scandal, The Miracle, Innuendo, Im going slightly mad, These are the days of our lives and The Show must go on... i think I have them all!
I really love this song written by Brian. Freddie was very sick by this point but he chugged down a vodka and smashed the vocal. I think this song was Brian's expression of conflict, knowing that he would be losing his friend and his band but understanding that music was still a part of him that he could not deny. I think Freddie singing this song was an additional nod that Freddie understood and that in fact he never intended for Brian or the others to leave music and certainly never intended for Queen to die along with him. Everyone had put so much of their lives into the band. Freddie left a lot of tracks for the band as well as all the songs he had written during his time with the band, telling them to do whatever they wanted later with them after he had passed. It was incredibly difficult on all of them to watch their friend suffer so much to the end but Freddie was brave, never complained and just wanted to sing as long as he possibly could. Thank you for your reaction.
Pick any song from the official Queen Channel because Queen doesn't block reactions 🎉 You will need to interrupt occasionally so RUclips doesn't take it down. One warning... don't interrupt Brian's solos or you will get yelled at.
Look for Queen Wembley 1986, Milton Keynes 1982, Montreal 1981, Hammersmith Odeon 1975 and of course, go directly to the Queen Official channel for more.
Freddie sang this in one shot, but he was very sick at the time, and yes, it’s a Queen song from their Innuendo album, released early in the year Freddie passed away. He sang everything he could until the very end, and Brian wrote this for him, trying to display Freddie’s attitude towards his way if being. Freddie told them to keep giving him things to sing, and they could finish them off after. But this was released and at least he got to see that. He was an amazing human being. I suggest These Are The Days of our Lives, and Mother Love. Also, I’m Going Slightly Mad. All in his last year. Queen’s songs are so many and so great…
