This was recorded in 1990, well into Freddie’s illness. Written by Brian as a tribute to a willful Freddie to keep singing but expressed concern if Freddie could hit the notes. Brian May recalls; "I said, 'Fred, I don't know if this is going to be possible to sing.' And he went, 'I'll fucking do it, darling'-vodka down-and went in and killed it, completely lacerated that vocal". RIP, Mr. Fahrenheit
it wasn't so much hitting a high note but singing words clearly in chest voice in high register without the voice braking Brian was only able to do it in falsetto apparently he goes higher in Innuendo
as time goes on Brian takes more credit for everything! the music was predominantly Brian but Brian had said in several earlier interviews including their documentary that they wrote it together
Freddie was on a mission to leave us with as much music as he could before he left us. I'm not sure how he managed to hit those notes as sick as he was but with his sheer determination and a shot of vodka for pain it was a masterpiece. 👑 Miss you Freddie.
This song chronicles the effort of Freddie continuing to perform despite approaching the end of his life, although his diagnosis with HIV/AUDS had not been made public in spite of ongoing media speculation that he was seriously ill. Queen members rallied around Freddie to protect him from the not-so-nice press!
Can you imagine being so close to death and still being able to sing like that, especially a song about the show going on after he’s gone, what courage and what a voice. Another amazing song from Queen and Freddie. He reacted to March of the black queen. If not, I highly recommend it.
I like to request Band Maid ‘Puzzle’ official live video please. Band Maid is an all female Japanese hard rock band that kicks butt. Could you also give me a shoutout for introducing them to you? Freddie was so ill yet he still managed to hit the high notes perfectly. We really miss you 😭💔
The Show Always Goes On With Those Of Us Who Miss Freddie And Love Queen 😓🌷
Masterpiece. Freddie's vocals are incredible.

@@bluebell3720 yes, I believe Brian wrote the melody and both contributed to the lyrics. I agree with what you said about Brian.
"My voice is still here,’ he used to say, ‘So I’ll keep on singing ‘til the end." ... and he really did.
Inside my heart is breaking, my makeup may be flaking, but my smile, still, stays on……
Brian wrote this song at a point when he knew that soon Queen would be no more but Freddie was a champion all the way to the end.
Yes. He was 🥰
